Dexter's final killing should be himself as really he is no better than those he kills. The fact he's discovered a handy way to justify his murders in his own mind doesn't at all change what he naturally is. If he wasn't able to satisfy his blood lust the way he does would he then be forced to kill randomly the same as any other killer? If so then when he looks at any one of his targets he's basically looking in a mirror. I assume he is aware of all this but can't be sure as I've never been overly into or seen too much of the show but it's an interesting thing to think about concerning the character.

They are created by a combination of circumstances, events and personality and certainly wouldn’t be interested in turning it into a gimmick, because it’s a compulsion.
Even very competent serial killers are losers as human beings and that usually undoes them.

It’s interesting to note the Dexter books are quite different to the show. It includes supernatural elements and Dexter strongly personifies his lust to kill, to the point he almost disassociates it from himself, calling it his Dark Passenger. It’s brought up early in the show but never emphasised to the degree it is in the books.
It’s also interesting that Dexter really isn’t a psychopath and was tragically misdiagnosed by his cop father. There’s a reason kids can’t be diagnosed with ASPD. As the TV series continues he comes to realise he does love, and when he does kill his first ‘innocent’ it nearly breaks him. He’s been convinced he’s a psychopath incapable of love or remorse or human emotion but it turns out Harry, his dad, was tragically incorrect about that.

That's a sociopath for you. They don't understand actual human relationships or emotions. They'll try to mimic what they believe should be true (like dude being married and whatnot, because guys are "supposed to get married and have kids) but even many folks who aren't sociopaths don't understand deep friendships between people. A lot believe men and women really can't be friends and anyone who says they have actual friends, like people they care about, share things with, etc, but aren't interested in sexually, are just lying. Like they, themselves, are.

“I wonder if he gets away with it” 😂 I love this channel specifically because it’s 98% factual and journalistic with very little commentary from the people making the videos except when the cases get ridiculous and it warrants a bit of a joke. Same reason I like Dr.Todd Grande.

It's always jarring when Dr Grande tells a joke. The guy looks and sounds like he's had his sense of humor surgically removed.

Found an article on Videomaker about his fan fiction movie.
It actually had a lot of money and established actors behind it.
To throw away his dream just to be a failed killer is just so stupid.

Right? Just because I love the character Hannibal doesn't mean I'm going to start dressing up in suits and eating people to be edgy. It's a character in a work of fiction. Anyone trying to emulate a fictional character (or any irl killer) is cringe af.

I also get called Daria because I have brown hair, glasses, and doc martens. However, personality-wise, Jane's my girl. I do the art thing, and I mainly lean towards the realistic optimist side. Talking about the show makes me miss running home from middle and high school to watch the end of TRL and rushing home from swim practice so I could catch Daria/Celeb Unalive Match/Pepperann/The OC. Good memories 🥲🥰

It's also fairly unreliable, according to studies conducted by the National Institute of Justice and in a report from the American Academy of Forensic Science, has been found to be a flawed "science", along with bs like bite mark analysis. There's a ton of criticism on blood pattern analysis, a big one being that several "experts" (who have been known to overstate qualifications) may read the same pattern and come up with totally different results.
