- In this video watch my unboxing and setup of my new Intel NUC NUC8i3BEH. Sorry for the length of this video. This is a new style of video for me. I did something similar with my upgrade for my DELL XPS 15 but hardware videos are not normally my thing. I still hope you enjoy it. Get your own Intel NUC8i3BEH here: amzn.to/358Co2v
I already had an SSD, HDD and memory but here are some choices that are compatible with the NUC8i3BEH:
SSD: amzn.to/383FExC
HDD: amzn.to/36mEEDG
RAM: amzn.to/2sZfjB7

Im planning to put 2 external 5cm usb fans, do you think setting them both as intakes from each side of the grill would be best? Or 1 intake 1 exhaust setup is better? I have the exact same model as yours.
I can’t imagine where you would find room for those. At this point I would consider moving the components to one of several fanless cases that are available. Just Google “NUC8i3BEH fanless cases” to see what I mean.
Does the NUC require a wireless Logitech keyboard like yours? Would it work with a wired, generic 104-key keyboard? Have you tried using your NUC with a wired keyboard?
Nope you can use any USB keyboard, wireless or not.
Hey plz make a video on that how to install windows 10 pro in it??
And I loved your video very much that I subscribed your channel in happiness
There are many of these videos already on the internet. Here's a good one. ua-cam.com/video/l9GnWYKyyYo/v-deo.html
Thanks!

I bought a bunch of these to make use of a pile of spare parts. I have a pile of RAM, HDDs and 16GB Optane modules let over from laptop upgrades so I built 4 of these and donated them. An Optane enhanced HDD is not all that bad when it comes to general PC use.
I was the same. I wanted a second computer but I wanted to not pay a bunch for items I already had laying around. Thanks for watching my video.
Hi Paul, Do you know how to remove and replace the fan on The Nuc 8i3BEH . Any tips would be greatly appreciated
You have to remove the motherboard from the case. Once you do that you will need to remove the screws holding the fan to the cooling unit. If you decide to remove the cooling unit from the CPU you will need to put a fresh supply of thermal paste on the CPU. Here is a video that shows putting an 8th generation nuc in a fanless case that shows the removal of the fan and cooling unit that you might be able to use as a reference: ua-cam.com/video/vQcrydSYrtE/v-deo.html
@@CaptivateTeacher thanks so much. I did get it out and thanks for the thermal paste tip

Could the 2.5" drive be the only hard drive?
Yes it could.
Hi I wonder could I ask some advice? Considering buying this model of NUC as my DELL XPS 15 is out of comission. This would be my first attempt at even partially "building", and I cannot find specifically if the RAM and SSD will be compatible. I have the following :
> Micron MTA8ATF1G64HZ-2G3E1 8GB RAM
> HFS512GD9MND-5510A Hynix 512GB MLC PCI Express 3.0 x4 M.2 2280 Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
I think they should be compatible from the research I've done, but would you be able to confirm?
If you're looking for a guarantee I can't give you that. I pulled the RAM and SSD out of my DELL XPS 15 9570 and used those modules in my NUC8i3BEH you see in the video. If that's where these modules you've listed came from you should be fine. The memory is looking for a slower RAM but all that means is the NUC isn't running the RAM at its full potential.
@@CaptivateTeacher Thanks Paul. Really appreciate that response!
@@DEEEAAANNN11 No problem
How functional is the mic? The speaker jack input is only for speakers and not for a headset with mic? I am thinking of buying a NUC but I teach online...
The 1/8th inch headset jack on the front supports headset and microphone combinations. Alternatively, you could use a USB headset microphone.
@@CaptivateTeacher thanks!
@@panosvz You're welcome
Great video!! All the best from Ireland! ☘️
Thanks for watching!
can i have the smaller ssd drive as the only drive or do i need to have both of them??
You can have just the one if you wish and it can be either of the two drives.
@@CaptivateTeacher awesome, very helpful video by the way. thank you
Would you run MacOS on it and make it a Hackintosh? Also, is there a speaker in there?
When you consider that you have to buy storage and memory separately you would be better off just buying a Mac Mini. There is no speaker included. I use it as a media server so I don't need a speaker.
@@CaptivateTeacher Thank you!

Hi, tell me how to lower the fan speed through BIOS?
You can't set the fan speed but you can change settings to affect it. Press F2 during startup to enter Intel Visual BIOS; navigate to the Cooling section; then change the settings in CPU Fan Header. For example you can select one of the half dozen power plans in Fan Control Mode. I have mine set for Balanced.
@@CaptivateTeacher does it come with a fan? i have the same model and can’t seem to find it
Thanks,great video
Glad you enjoyed it
How much GB graphics card it has?
Here is some good details about the graphics on the NUC8i3BEH: www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Iris-Plus-Graphics-655-GPU-Benchmarks-and-Specs.316632.0.html
it’s intergrated graphics so it will use system memory
Can u pls give me the link to the ssd and the hard drive
If you look in the video description I have some links to other appropriate hardware but the items I used in my video were not purchased for this device. I had pulled them from older hardware and simply had them laying around.
@@CaptivateTeacher ok thanks
