Lou, don't strike when using braid lift into the bite when the fish is pulling. Striking just pulls the bait and hook away too fast.

@LobItLew it's just automatic to strike especially when youve been using mono lol, the strike helps take up some of the stretch to help connect with the fish but with braid as there is no stretch it just pulls the bait and hook out of the mouth. you can also reel down on a bite so when you can really feel the fish on and pulling, just gently lift the rod tip and wind. Either way works, try them to see how you get on.
