- Prado 150 Oil and Filter change. I thought I'd do a quick video on how to do an Oil and Oil Filter change on a Prado 150 (3 litre diesel) and how you can save money by doing it yourself. Not paying for someone to do it can save you over $100! (more fuel money!) In this video I take you through the basics, what oil and oil filter to use, socket sizes for the various bolts. I change my oil and filter every 5,000kms.
Prado 150 Outahere love hitting the tracks and camping as a family. 3 kids, 2 boys 16, 14 and girl 12. Making the most of spending time with the teenagers doing stuff we love. Getting outdoors, away from technology. Learning how to do mods to the Prado, and setting it up for the tracks and camping. We completed our biggest trip/adventure to Cape York in 2021.
Spot on video! …basic is what us non mechanics need. My give it a go myself.
Thanks mate 👍👍
Legit watched this video today again after a 30% off repco sale. Changed the oil and fuel filter between the fuel tanks. With the money saved I paid for our accomodation and supplies for a upcoming camping trip. Cheers
Awesome 👍👍👍
Great video mate !
Thanks mate 👍
Great work mate thanks for the video
Thank you, appreciate it 👍👍
Thanks mate for putting the vid up. I'm moving to a remote place where I wanna be doing stuff like this myself so save a bit of money
Thanks mate. Glad I could help 👍👍
Been doing my oil change exactly like you have showed in the video for years on my 150. Great vid can’t fault your method. You can also get the fancy copper crush washers from super cheap. Brake cleaner is good to clean up excess/dripped oil after👍👍
Thanks mate!! 👍👍
Thanks mate, very helpful
Thank you
Great vid mate thanks
Thanks mate 👍
good job 👍👍
Thanks mate 👍
Thanks Dad!
👍
Very useful video and tips! Thank you! btw, Since you have raised the front of the vehicle, I was wondering whether this influence the amount of oil you drain from the car... with raised front will you drain more or less or same amount of oil as if it was on flat ground? Thanks!
Thank you. Yes it may influence it a little, but negligible I think.
Nice
Thanks 👍
Great video. Exactly what I was looking for ( same car too 👍)
Thanks for posting.
Would you recommend and oil flush every now and then when changing the oil?
Thank you. Really appreciate it.👍
Yes only going by Dan from Dan's Automotive I'd recommend it.
How often should you change oil / filter in prado 150 D4D (2023) ?
I personally do my oil changes every 5000kms. However, it's personal preference. I know if you're paying a mechanic this can be expensive. I would refer to your warranty if it's still under warranty and your service manual.
Don’t lend Mick your umbrella, he can’t be trusted. I won’t make that mistake again!
Another good video mate. R.
🤣😆😁
how many mpg do you get? Here in Murica we only get the V8
I get about 12 litres per 100kms on average
@@prado150outahere .. k imma have to do some math here.. I'm a murican and don't really know what a liter is lol 😆
🤣🤣👍
@@LexusGX460-OFF-ROAD 😂 3.17 gallon for 62 miles, no idea how to round that out though.
If its a brand new vehicle, would you suggest going to the original dealership for the first while before start doing oil changes yourself?
Yeah mate. You'll have to go to dealer or authorised mechanic for warranty purposes 👍
@@prado150outahere Ah yes that makes sense
👍
Hint: Go easy and don’t fasten the plug so tight! It has nothing to hold but itself and the threat is conical, much easier to damage than cylindrical.
👍👍
Where to dump dirty oil?
At the rubbish tip
Wear gloves used oil is toxic
Check oil pick up through sump plug hole
Yep no worries. 👍
Making my toes curl seeing you under that heavy SUV on them rusty old ramps, time to retire them before they retire themselves with you under the car. Get something newer and beefier FFS.
Yep, they have retired after that video, I agree 👍😁
@@prado150outahere Good man, I was just concerned for you👍👍👍
thanks mate 👍
Ooh where are you taking me to dinner with the extra $100 you saved Mr Prado150!?
😄😄😆
