Tool live is the closest thing to a religious experience I’ve ever had lol 🖤🖤🖤 Lying on my friends couch on mushrooms and listening to the entirety of Lateralus changed me.
@@larzapan U can buy mushrooms on the dark web. Not very difficult. Or go pick them yourself in the fall, theyre not difficult to find if you know where to look (depending on where you live).
My first time hearing that album was also my first time taking LSD. We wore that cassette tape out that night. Labor Day weekend 2001. A week later the world changed forever and I’m glad I got to experience it when I did.
I love that you pay attention to the more subtle instruments as well as everything else; this man said "its like going through a jungle with a hearing aid" 🤣🤣
I swear that tool has mastered the ability to make you feel like you're high on drugs, Solely from Sonic sounds they create. The strange sounds they create hit your brain on a Hertz level that cannot be explained. All you can do is close your eyes, open your arms and let the music flow thru you.
Awesome reaction! Love when you do Tool!! You must see this band live it's out of this world!! I've seen them so many times.. 1st show was Seattle 1992 last was SD 2020. Best live band ever and it's not even close!
This album is the first and last album I ever bought. I was in the army in 1998, just got injured and discharged from basic training. While I was waiting to be sent home I was bored out of my mind, went to the PX, bought a stereo and this CD. Tool became my favorite band from that moment all the way until just a few years ago when I discovered Home Free, Voice Play, and Pentatonix. I was never a fan of music in general, but Tool and those a-Capella groups catch my attention.
well, you're not missing much kur. everything else is just a pale imitation of this. what made you buy it? having heard it through someone else? you picked a great album to live in your stereo.
Similar storie..injured on hold over, listening to NIN pretty hate machine... I didn't have any tool with me :( but a memory I will never forget. Just me, rattling around the barracks, that were empty because they all had moved on. A tape player Walkman and NIN...
This song is sorta exhausting. If you make it from start to finish, by the time the end comes ya physically feel a sense of ............ something. its a mental movement kinda thing.
"what is this bro?" That is the bass player Justin Chancellor, 90% of the crazy stuff (effect wise) you hear is actually Justin going nuts with his pedal effects he is truly unique. For example: the solo at Invincible, Vicarious, the weird synth effects at schism and the weird "whale sounds" at the pot are all him!
Now just imagine that the FIRST time you take LSD is also the FIRST time that you hear their music. It’s a moment that’s forever embedded in your soul and changes you’re entire perspective on the universe…or just drink cheap beer and listen to pop country…same thing right? lol
This is the perfect example of how they make their music, the lyrics are a reaction to the music ie the first time Maynard heard the song the first one outside of the band it was "prying open my third eye". heres the only video of Danny the drummer talking about his drumming you will definitely like it ua-cam.com/video/cKmKhfC71c8/v-deo.html
I'm not gonna knock that version... its amazing... but they are very different songs... and the live version (salival) is missing one my kinda... its missing the line that always drew me to it... but whatevah...
This song is absolutely bonkers to listen to on a psychedelic trip, I'll tell you that.

I welcome a band to try to make some music to top this song.

They say DMT can open the third Eye
Not even close to drugs. It's about a higher consciousness
Which can be reached with the right drugs 🤷
Even meditation is most likely just your body's own DMT 🤷
