    I’ve been binge watching your videos, they’re super helpful. I’m currently studying for my written test. Driving has always been a fear in my life, so I’ve been avoiding it for a long time. I’m 29 and I’ve been giving myself pep talks because I really want to conquer that fear and really become independent. I’ve driven very very briefly but it wasn’t enough. So I’m hoping I’ll get my permit before the year ends. The more I watch your videos, the more excited and motivated I am!!!

      @@Courtneyhuggins1 I got mine at 19 and felt a bit embarrassed too. But you have to conquer that fear! Paying for a one week driving class helped me. $300 is a lot of money, but it gave me a huge confidence booster. Watching these vids and practicing helped too! It takes time to get comfortable. • @danny1103

    My way of merging: 1. Automatic gear, drop a gear to D3 or 2 (Or use Sport Mode with Manual override). 2. Using the accelerator and step on it to above 4000 RPM (Or keep the same low gear if there are cars blocking you from speeding up while using the accelerator to maintain speed. 3. Merge into freeway where you already have sufficient speed 55-65 mph on ramp while tracking blind spot; 4. if there are car in the blind spot before you merge, make split second decision whether you want to speed up rapidly and pass over or slow down and get behind.

    What if there are two cars in the lane you are merging to, and the first one is going too fast, so you try for going behind him, but that car won’t let you in either?

    these are unusual (to me)l on-ramps with the traffic lights that make your car stop just before entering the accel. lane. That's be unwelcome in most cases, particularly if one is in a car (truck) with mediocre acceleration. Haven't seen these here in Buffalo NY, although I seem to recall some "traffic metering lights" on the on ramps in Phila that would only allow 1 or 2 cars on each green (the green cycledvery frequently)..however, these lights were further back from the "gore point", ie. not right before the acceleration lane. Good video, although I think some are needed showing merging in traffic that is near full capacity of the highway but still flowing near speed limit. IMO, that's the trickiest time to merge.

    I was merging once and the merge lane was short on my left was a semi trailer so I braked in the merge lane just enough to let the trailer pass then merged behind it

    • @Zutobi_US
      @Zutobi_US  4 місяці тому

      That sounds like a smart decision in a tricky situation. When merging, especially with short lanes, it's important to adjust speed to find a safe gap. Slowing down to let the semi-trailer pass and then merging behind it was a good call for safety. Always prioritize safety when merging! 👍🚗🚚

    Why would on-ramps have traffic lights? That just slows you down, especially in a large vehicle.

      I'm sorry to hear that you faced a challenging situation during your test. It's important to prioritize safety over speed. Practice merging on different types of roads to build your confidence. Remember, it's better to be cautious than rush and potentially cause an accident. Keep practicing, and you'll improve.

    A lot of people speed on freeway and go 10 or 20 above the limit, that's one thing that's concerning. Let's just say it may be legal to do 10 or 20 under the limit as long as you're above the minimum speed limit and weather conditions permit, but it's definitely not legal or safe to do 10-20 over.

    Horrible advice, just look for the gap early on and then drive into it. Her method is to look for the gap at the last second and then speed up or slow down and will cause backups and stress. Its not about matching the speed of traffic, its about looking for the gap and then drive the speed you need to slide in to it. If you do it right you almost don't even need your mirror and are now only using your mirror to check the other car is not trying to block.

    @zutobi_us when merging should you only be looking at 1st lane or both lanes just in case a car in 2nd lane moves to first lane iracticly
