    with the title I expected a warhead jumping *to* the target, not *with* the target
    It's a fun and usefull weapon still x) I can picture the panicked crew seing this attached to their hull

      Warp/Slipstream misses aren't anything original, and mostly don't work due to jump prohibition and automatic defense. But idea of forcing warp of enemy ship is in fact quite great if used properly.

    upgrade that weapon so that it has 2 jump drives, this means once it has moved the enemy away it can jump back to you. This would result in a fully reusable weapon!

      You'd have to ride with it. Last I checked, you have to activate it from a toolbar, aka cockpit/remote block.

      Yeah it could have a remote block that when triggered does the whole process it sends it away and leaves behind a warhead when it detached and jumps back to you

      If you could teleport a certain section of a ship, like the reactor if you want to take the ship intact, or their main cargo bay if you are feeling like a pirate, that would have a more tactical edge to this missile.

      Sadly that wouldn't work since the drive has to be charged to create the explosion. It will have no charge since it jumped b4 detonation

    I think that would be a pretty nice thing if done right.
    Not a jump to random coordinates but between the gravity well of a planet and a allied station. Enemy ship jumps in and gets imidiatly pounded by the stattion and ships. Every explosion shoving it deeper into the gravity well.
    A Jumpdrive for a whole ship, even a realy big carryer or so sounds pretty worth for me :D
    Or you can simply steal a ship that way. Jumping it away from it's parked possition into a prepared area, cutting down beacons and antennas and jump it away one more time to be safe and you have yourself a new carrier xD

      BomberTheGreat Remember That drives, even set to a specific coordinate, will not jump DIRECTLY to them. They’ll be safely out of turret range, and if they’ve got missiles, you’ve just exposed your base to a direct attack from cruise missiles, and they’ve probably marked coordinates and sent for reinforcements. Bad strategy, goes against cole protocol (Which should be instated for most factions)

    Ok here's the plan, disable the enemies weapons somehow so they have to get out of their seats and fight manually, and jump their ship out from beneath them! Perfect way to steal a ship!

    Install the warp drive explosion mod and use them as literal missiles where you just have a small power supply and shoot the drive at the enemy so it blows up

      Jump drive generally won't jump withen a km or so of an aseroid or grid. If something is sitting where it wants to drop out of warp it will drop you at the closest open space between your destination and where you came from.

      @@merendell you could remote control a missile, give it terminal velocity, then do the jump into enemy territory. When you teleport in, you're already moving at high speed, so the enemy has got very little time to react. Paint it all black for additional stealthiness

    Such a cool idea. I didn't realize that landing gear would take the connected ship with it! Imagine if you grabbed their ship and no-one was in a seat at that moment -- you'd jump the ship out from under them! It is a fun hail mary, but would only work once against a coordinated team. Awesome idea though, and excellent thinking on making it explode after it jumps.

    I have an idea for a thing. What about a small reforcement platform. It sits back at base and when your in trouble you remotely access it and jump it to your location. SURPRISE suddenly what was an unarmed transport is now an unarmed transport with a nearby friendly weapon platform that could easily be fitted with heavy armor since it won't need to move without the jump drive. Stay by it for protection and if they leave then you can maybe even use it's scaps for repairs. I mean it will have a jump drive on it to use. But I guess what it's fitted with, depends on the situation. Could have a selection of them too. Maybe one for supplies. That'd be cool.

    This has so much more potential!
    First of all, wasting the jump drive is sorta dumb, put more timer blocks on it, have it detach from the ship, drive away and jump back to where it was deployed (or your nearby base).
    Secondly this could be used to teleport the ship into a massive grinder house full of defenses, basically functioning like a "hook". You engage the enemy ship, take out it's exterior defenses, then jump the ship into the "slaughter house" where you have another large tug ship which locks onto the target and pushes it into a bunch of grinders. You also have a lot of turrets to kill any potential players and this will happen very quickly so they don't have time to stop it, and then their medbays are ground down.

    If I can cripple the thrusters on it and/or detonate the warhead before you can latch it on, you’ve done 2 things. 1) you’ve lowered sim speed, since now armor is going everywhere and 2) wasted countless resources on a jump drive missile that will work 3/10 times. Trust me, I’ve tried this with multiple different combat ships. The majority of ships can disable it with a single rocket, since it’s got a relatively small thruster pack.

    What if, and bear with me, this missile was contained within your own ship and acted as its warp drive, but using a different procedure it could be repurposed to transport someone else away from you

    I was experimenting last week with this. I had the critical explosion mod on and I made pretty much the same kind design you had here. However, the difference was that I let the Jump Drive charge up and then I had a gatling gun behind it so whenever I'd attach it to the ship, I'd let the gun shoot the Jump Drive and then a critical explosion would rip the ship in half.

    Place the warhead (or a couple...) inside the device, closer to the Landing Gear. You get a better blast because the Jump Drive doesn't act as a shield from the blast.
    A devious little weapon when you absolutely, positively want the enemy to go away!

    @4:05 "Very simplistic weapon" umm jump drives aren't exactly classified as simplistic.
    hilarious weaponry though, puts a whole knew meaning to sticking it to the enemy...lol Have to admit I was expecting a jump drive like long range weapon, but I guess its all relative if the boom goes off next to the ship who cares what jumps when/where ;)
    Think combining this with a jump capable carrier ship could make for some very hilarious moments, jump in, attach, you jump out, they like WTF, they jump becoming more WTFish, they go boom putting the final WTFish nail in the coffin.
    Genius part IMO is the detonation removes all trace, so its not even clear what occurred :D

    What about something a little smarter.
    Now, it has been a little while since I've played SE, but what about two charged Jump Drives and a timer block. One to jump the ship away, triggering the timer, the warhead, and the second jump drive. The warhead and landing gear disconnects, and the second jump drive returns the relocater back to base.

      Well, without actual coordinates, you would just jump back to the middle of nowhere. OR if you would actually try to input them enemy crew would have plenty of time to get you f*cked up.

      Can you not pre-program the coordinates? If not with a timer block, perhaps a programming block. Or is there a cooldown between jumps with multiple jump drives?

      The cooldown would stop this working. As far as I know, all jump drives on a grid are automatically linked to provide greater jump range and higher power requirements. Not sure how turning it on and off would affect things, but I suspect if the second drive came online after the jump, it would immediately be tied into the cooldown. In fact, I'm not sure if it would even hold its previous charge at all if it was turned off.

    Heres's an idea to make it way better:
    Deploy the drone and jump with the targeted vessel away and have some warheads in the jumpdrive drone so that it explodes after jumping leaving the ship damaged.

    You could even use it to rescue friendly / allied ship that has been disabled during a battle. Attach the drive and jump them out of the firefight.

    I can think of a way to improve this, put the warhead in front of the jump drive, and have more than 1, also, adding the mod that makes the jump drives explode in a beautiful scene of destruction would help as well.

    You could create your own more reliable kill-zone by recording the coordinates in front of a large wall of missile launchers or just a few rooms full of large warheads.
    Attach, teleport in, very few survival-creatable craft a massive wall of missile launcher.
    Or send in a drone to record the coordinates close to a ship and jump in a single combat craft that's nothing but the jump drive, reactor, remote-control and 15 missile launchers, giving the enemy no chance to damage them before the ship is danger-close.
    If the combat ship you jump in is damaged is of little concern, the most expensive thing on it is the jump drive itself, after all.

    that is only practical if you have the jump drive explosion mod. Otherwise their ship, which is likely jump drive-equipped to begin with, has suffered little to no damage and is good to go for another fight. If you do this make sure you have the jump drive explosion mod if you want to do some serious damage and actually strand your enemy.

    Oh, the evil that could be done....
    You set the Jump Drive Missile to deliver the enemy ship within a large grinding rig. As soon as they arrive, their entire ship
    gets reduced to re-usable parts.
    The key is to use it in a way that delivers the enemy into a trap.

    Oh, and i would see if you can trigger the jumpdrive and warhead timers, with the warheads surrounding the landing gear, when the gear locks. Fire and forget warp torpedoes.

    Awesome weapon. It would have to be a blind jump, though, which is fine for just ejecting them from the battlefield. If you tried to relocate them somewhere specific, you could find the range is insufficient to make the jump once the mass of their ship (which you don't know in advance) is taken into account and they wouldn't jump at all. For that matter, the blind jump could also fail if the destination happened to be in a planet's gravity well.

    Missiles with jumpdrive, so you make it go 100m/s and jump it close to the enemy. The hard part is actually hitting the enemy if it isn't a static station, o a cluster warhead system might make it more effective. Expensive, complicated, ICBM sort of weapon though!

    I built something kind of similar, but not used the same way. I built a jump drive with a connector and power so that I could connect a small ship to it and use it to jump a small fighter or miner somewhere, then disconnect do what I need to do and reconnect to jump back. I bet you could use this system to build a jump drive to jump a bunch of fighters to a location, disconnect to fight, then use the jump drive to return when done. That is, if you don't use a small jump drive.

    If you set checkpoint right at the edge of a gravity well (one between a planet and a large asteroid so the games variable is more likely to put it at the edge of gravity instead of a 1,000km away). And set it to jump there it would be a bit more dangerous. But it needs more warheads and works best on a server that has the jumpdrive explosion mod on it.

    You use this on an attacking enemy capital, you remove them from their support fleet and have people in waiting to pounce on it.
    That is if you can set coordinates for the jump rather than just 'in that general direction'

      Wouldn't work, the jump drives have to be charged for that to work. And considering they have just jumped they would be empty

      You wouldn't actually need to jump them anywhere if you're just going to blow them to bits. With a slight change you could either use this as a weapon to jump enemy to a far away location or, if the mod is in use, blow the enemy up with it.

    Not a JD weapon, but i use hydrogen bomb torpedoes a lot. Decently effective, when done right. Basically a large hydro tank designed to be flying into the enemy ship when you are firing heavy cannons, such as artillery or assault cannons. My 2 versions are a large tanke with a warhead for timed/impact detonation as well as a latch bomb. Gets stuck in the armor to provide a forced weak point to shoot or a distraction as a hydro tank has to be emptied slowly or risk a sparked detonation.

    This would be great anti carrier stuff. 1. Fly into the hanger at speed. 2. Hit drive and magnetize. 3. Eject and exit carrier. 4. Enemy craft now have no base and either flee or become prey. 5. Evil genius/ Darth Sidious laugh over open coms as the boom happens.

    You might have some success attaching sideways onto a target so you don’t have to look away first.
    If you can keep the target from resisting you could jump them to a place of your choosing.
    Or just use the thing as a tug for ships without jump drives.

    This is actually worth the cost if you set the warhead to emp. You can jump in a small boarding ship and take it since it's defense will be down

    You'll never get a chance to approach slowly and maneuver like that in a combat situation. If you want this to actually work, put the landing gear on the bottom of the missile, and surround it with a row of blast doors so you can ram the bottom of your ship into the target at max speed and stick to them without having to rotate to look away.

    You could attach an internal laser to the hyperdrive and have that set to go off before you destroy the everything which blows such a large ship if not completely disintegrate the ship after jump forcing it in its crew away from you.

    I was thinking it was gonna breach into the middle of a ship and blow it up not send it far away nice design would definitely use if on steam workshop.

    Next weapon jump drive capital guided missile launcher. Inspiration Gundam SEED. Plan 1. Build a platform with JD.
    2. Have full missiles and enough fuel for 2 jumps.
    3. Jump into a battle at 3-4000 km.
    4. Discharge times missles into space.
    5. Jump away.
    6. When capital guided missiles fire off creating confusion over where the guided missile cruiser is!
    7. Refuel, rearm, rinse, repeat from another angle.
    8. Variants, dropping several loads of missiles and firing the entire salvo at once creating not only confusion but if done right and your side picks where the battle is ahead of time these missiles can seem adrift until they either get heavily engaged too sow confusion in the ranks OR be used as a MAD option if the battle goes poorly. Either way the platform is protected by hopping into and out combat quickly with a proficient user with minimal or no damage. This will need no armor really as if minimal in mats most big players don't look twice as it's too small to bring even a light carrier (something small to collect it) to bear as the battle is joined (one ship can mean victory or defeat in battle) so if these are new to the game they can punch MASSIVELY above their weight class tonnage.

    You can use this in a huge fleet battle (possible now because of the recent update) and jump away the mothership or capitol ship and leave the support ships and fighters to fight your fleet

    Can you preload coordinates into one of those missiles? If so I see potential in teleporting ships to the mouth of a grinding station where they are immediately stripped of their resources when the station detects their presence.

    Would it be possible to have two jump drives? What if you had a manned ship that could do a similar, we'll call it "jump-jack", maneuver but then detach itself and jump to another location. You could save yourself a jump drive then, and also use it multiple times to scatter enemy ships. Or maybe even jump into their base and steal a ship.

    A jump drive missile where instead of teleporting away the enemy it’s like a homing missile that teleports to them and blows up with like half a dozen warheads

    If their ship or crew doesn't have recources to build a jumpdrive you could destroy their jumpdrive and then jumpdriving them away. They would be really happy xD.

    I say put the warheads closer to the magnetic landing gear near the front closer to the your target ship so it get rid of the jump drive and does more damage to the ship

    Could be really mean and set up a cluster of turret platforms within the jump distance and have the missle jump them there instead of blind.

    Could remove 2 of the landing gear and have a warhead between the other landing gear. Be a focused explosive then, plant the sucker on or near the main or breaking engines.

    Another use for this weapon: get a brave man who's ready to sacrifice everything and send him on this jump bomb. Have him warp over to the enemy base and have him attach and detonate himself like a deep space kamikaze.

    I’m actually angry I never thought of this, this thing is the ultimate counter to any behemoth, if you get attacked by a group of ships just yeet the biggest one out of the battle and try to kill the rest before it can jump back or anything

    This reminds me of a thing that me and my faction did on a enemy faction. We had a guy as a mole on their side, feeding us intelligence and information as well as sneakily adding little things here and there hidden away so that we'd be able to bring down or capture their ships easier. First of we used the Hacking computer mod where the mole hid a few hacking computers in the guts of the enemy flagship but left them switched off. As we went into battle he switched them all on and slowly but surely their flagship flipped to our side piece by piece. They were so confused as to what was happening as they slowly lost control of their ship and things started "malfunctioning" as my friend started messing with their systems, first messing with random doors to spook people, then disabling their weapons at random, then messing with the thrusters and gyroscopes, then all of a sudden their shields mysteriously went down... Because he switched them off along with their life support and med-bays. Then we just waited for their suit's to run out of oxygen before he turned the life support back on and flew their ship back to our station where we repainted it, gave it a new crew, put some firewalls on it to make sure they couldn't do the same thing back to us and sent it out as the flagship of our second fleet.

    @LastStandGamers what about a "bomb" jump driving inside of the ship without attaching to it? What I mean by that is can you overload a jump drive and create a jump drive bomb "teleporting" a part of the ship an therefore ripping it apart.

    I think if the warheads were cloer to the gear where it attaches to the ship it would still destroy the jump drive but do more damage to the ship.
    Or use a nuke.. lol

    What if you warp them out of the area into an incoming cloud of mines and missiles?
    Can't be hard to aim the missiles if you know where the target is going to be...

    Maybe if you have it jump to a location with an ambush set up, say a several defense stations or a mine field, That ship will take a lot more damage and make the weapon more cost effective, plus the location can be reused many times, meaning the possibility's far out way the cost.

    Is their any way to make a gravity Railgun? I have seen one video were they are just putting force and deactivates one but what would happen if you have a barrel with those pointing out at a 45 degree angle? Would it speed faster that the other version or is it maxed

    Apparently updates after this video was posted now will stop the warp happening if you lock or unlock connectors or landing gear.
