A hands-on skill [savvy skilled personal] with CCNP is far better than unskilled and mediocre CCIE. Period! Don't run after this bullshit and time-wasting Certifications. These are just Milking Cows who will suck all of your milk and in the end left you thirsty. I have been working tens of wasted CCIE guys who even didn't know the definition of System and Troubleshooting. Then you will asked to continue your education for minimum ten (10) years or so in the name of technological advancement [which is by the way totally baseless] and in reward, you will get a Gold or Silver Medal or Some Certificates valid for ever from vendors i.e. PMP, Cisco, AWS, Microsoft.... name or any example of any vendor......in the world, the follow the same pattern. For example: I worked at Dubai Airport Terminal-1, Terminal-3, Concourse-3, Doha Airport, Jeddah Airports, Singapore Airport [world's mega projects] with at least 150K nodes and above to 300K nodes or above. Surprisingly enough, all these mega projects were done by CCNPs with Top Notch skills of R&S, SDN, Virtualization, VMs [Virtual Machines], Automation, Cyber Security [even cyber security professionals were CCNP] and rows of Networking technologies and skills and you will be more surprised to know that all these mega Projects were not designed by any CCDE [Cisco certified Design expert] rather by RCDD [Registered Communicaiton Distributor Designer] certified personals or even without any certification personals. Please get out of the myth of this CCIE and don't be trapped with their temptations. The most important and at the top level is: Your hands on skills. You attitude, Your passion, Your belief systems. Keep in mind one thing, Diploma or Certificate can never be replacement of a degree. Period! A Degree from renowned institute and under the guidance of best mentors and coaches is far better of this three (3) to six (6) months of certificates. These certificates cannot give you the Cognitive approach [How to think and how to apply and get results? as you get all these brain frameworks in your degree programs which are built-in designed in a way to architect of your brain wires rather certifications can't do that and there are lot of drawbacks of certification which I can't sum up here] Dear: You are paid in the world's market for your hands-on skills not for what do you know. Means, you are paid, what you can do, create or produce results with impact, not what's going on in your mind and what's store there? First, you have to store data in your mind then retrieve, process it to make it useful information with results and impacts that solve the world's problems. And when we are working in the Systems, I have seen most of this so called CCIE failed badly, why? Because they didn't have the real world's problem-solving skills. I have a lot to tell you, but these pages are so short. In short, what makes you the best professional are: 1. Right Attitude 2. Right Skills 3. Personal Brand [Your personal values] And for Professional skills you need The Best Leadership skills The Best Management Skills [including Top Notch Technical Skills] The Best Business Skills
Hello IQ you have the right point.. i will discuss this point in the video.. i had already discussed the same on LinkedIn a few months ago.. would like to join this video conversation??
Dont go for certification, this is time and money consuming now a days every companies required multi vendor experience. If you have multi vendor experience then they will not ask even associate level certification also.
It is a waste to do CCIE and do not know anything about tcpdump or basic linux commands. You might become Cisco champ but CISCO is not everything, in real world you will see will multi-vendor technologies only. Better spend time on getting familiar with multivendor. You can become cloud expert by putting half of the effort required for CCIE. CCNP is good to have though (knowledge not necessarily cert).
I left IT almost 16 years ago … ccie wasn’t worth much at the time because I had went into security and sys admin work… just diversify and keep
Going
That is a complicated question. Having been in IT for 25 years now I can definitely there is less and less value placed on the CCIE
Happy for you man, but it's difficult man me as a Senior Network and have Family on my responsibility it's difficult to find the time for CCIE
Correct... You have to talk with your family and adjust your timetable
