Not a Wild fan but as a JEEK fantasy owner, I tuned in to my fair share of their games last season. Gotta say for 9M a year after just turning 27, I definitely think you can slide Kirill the Thrill in on that list somewhere
I would have liked to see lucas raymond, kid is young and so clutch. he almost lead the wings into the playoffs. He had a god damn hat trick in an elimination game
No, the Blackhawks are no where near contending so adding a 27 year old mcdavid would just be wasting his prime for 4-5 years before the hawks young core is ready. By the team the team would be good enough to contend davo would probably be past his prime entering his mid 30s whereas bedard would be just entering his prime.
As the Hawks, definitely not, Bedard is already solidified being our franchise player and his prime will be along the same as Korch, Lev, Kurashev, ect. As the Oilers, defienly yes, saves SO much cap space for the next two years during his ELC, and he would play very well with Draisital (who would be Edmonton's #1 player)
@@djsmoove98 That’s also what I was thinking. I’m guessing he was looking in the perspective of a team like New Jersey/Dallas that are beginning their high-end contention and will be contenders for the next decade. But if it’s a team like San jose, Chicago, Anaheim I don’t think it’s crazy for bedard to be 1
Mcdavid should be first no competition and no one else even on the same stratosphere as him. Era adjusted he beats Gretzky in a lot of areas. Best player to ever start a franchise with cause he could win a cup basically on his own.
@philland97 why? A down year for him was 70 points. He’s a 22 year old center on a bad team, he had a 90 point season at 21 years old and after the season he came out and said he had lingering upper body injuries all year. Like Mike said he was incredibly unlucky too, he missed so many almost guaranteed chances, but he’s a star and will certainly bounce back
I'm very biased but I'm taking Tkachuk over most of these guys. He's only 26 with a long contract below market rate, and only had a down year because he was recovering from a broken sternum. Plus he's kinda a unicorn player- there's no one else on earth that can score a hundred points a season and lay the body quite like him. Not to mention he's a natural leader, immensely clutch, and a proven playoff performer.
MacKinnon, (though a little biased cause I’m an Avs fan), I believe might be better than Mcdavid in terms of building a team around because he has experience, and you see that at the start of his career, he made the playoffs with much less help than Mcdavid, who has Draisitle and RNH, and Nail Yakopov, though obviously he didn’t do much.
Idk how you absolutely missed Nail Yakopov, he's an absolute beauty who hasn't been below 4 points per game every year smh
Exactly, dudes the GOAT

Of course we want a U-23 version of this! Duh! Great vid as usual, Mike.
Yessir, coming soon!
I honestly think #1 should be tied for Ian Cole Darnell nurse and Tyler Myers’s
Good list. I think Elias Pettersson and Jason Robertson are solid options as well
I agree with having Hughes ahead of Mackinnon because mackinnon is like 28-29 and jack Hughes is like 23 and on a better contract
Yup contract as well as age gives him the edge imo
Honestly give me Jacob Trouba he can throw some elbows to protect my franchise
You should do season previews and line previews for each team

Love the Jack Hughes love. His contract is great
I personally would have Martin Fehervary at 1
Among Slovakian defenseman over the age of 21 he's the clear cut #1
@@MikeBartner among the hockey players in history he is also the clear cut #1
I think I’d take Tkatchuk ahead of Draisaitl or Matthews considering contract and his style of play is so valuable

Bart, can you rank the last 10 (5 seasons) conference finals/semifainals for a video?
Bit surprised not to see Artem Zub on this list.

Barkov is the second best player in the world. You just saw the display he put against two of the top 6 players in the game.
Where would you put Kuch?
16-20 just because he's 31, for all we know he could fall off next season.
If you’re the current Blackhawks and the oilers offered mcdavid for bedard 1:1, would you do it?
No, the Blackhawks are no where near contending so adding a 27 year old mcdavid would just be wasting his prime for 4-5 years before the hawks young core is ready. Mcdavid is too old to be first it should be someone under 25
really?
a generation talent in his prime isnt the best way to start a franchise?
@@YesMan-uy4cj he only has like 3 years of his prime left the best way to start a franchise is a 18-24 year old generational talent
If Bedard cements himself as a top 10 player next year I'd agree he should be #1
