I last knitted baby blankets 24 years ago when I had my last born. I have been suffering from back pain for a long time until I had to quit my nursing job that I loved so much, I feel I can't go reading nursing journals all the time let me revive my other dormant passion which is knitting, crocheting baby blankets, knitting and sawing. Long time ago before I studied nursing I did some dress cutting and designing that is 30 years ago. Skills never leave you, now they have been awakened lol. Thank you for your patience in teaching beginners
Yes I am learning new things about knitting from you all the time Laura and although I’ve been a knitter for 50 years this is the first time I have seen this stitch and it’s beautiful I will be giving it a try thank you 😊Amanda xx🌼
I have 3 UA-camrs who are my go to for technique and instructions but I do enjoy many others and I appreciate that you made this video. This is a pretty stitch I can't wait to use in a project. Love the children's knitting needles. It's lovely to think a that there are children using them to learn a life long amazing hobby.
Knitting for many years and wanted to try a new stitch. GREAT tutorial. I am going to use this for a church size baby blanket. Thank you for repeating your work several rows and going over the 'get the stitiches ' in the correct order. Love it.
Laura, this may be one of those questions that make us groan, apolgies in advance. I can't/don't follow your knitting videos because the knitting I have barely learned is the Norwegian style. Just for fun, only for the laughs, I would so much enjoy seeing an experienced knitter try to grasp the Norwegian/continental style. And for the absolute best laugh, I would like to see you try to follow Arne of Arne snd Carlos. Never seen anyone knit or crochet so quickly as Arne. This is a substantial departure from your usual work, but I think it would be great fun, very human, and create a sense of us all struggling through together. Then, of course, afterward, you will be expected to return to your regular style. I did try crocheting left handed earlier this year, thus I think such challenges are so good for the brain! Thanks for reading, and hopefully considering. Mind I am not asking for change, just for a laugh. This pattern is beautiful, would be nice to grasp knitting. I just ALWAYS drop stitches and don't know how to recover. I find crochet more forgiving. Would love to do both, well!
This is the first fancy stitch I've tried and I struggled for a long time until I found your video. You do a great job of explaining and then showing what it looks like while you're stitching and after you knit. I often find it hard to follow things without explanation. Thanks so much!
This is the 4th video of yours \i have watched this evening. \i love how you explain and also how you keep repeating so I eventually understand what you mean. (Audio and Visual learner). Brilliant!!
thank you so much for your tutorials! I'm a knitting noob and I'm finding these so easy to follow :) would you consider making a tutorial for the herringbone stitch?
I made the hat. Would love to share what it looks like but have no idea how to add picture to this. Looks amazing. Made for coworker now everyone wants one but don't want to lay for it. Lol.
Great tutorial! Your an awesome teacher! Thank you for taking the time to help others and being so kind. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL FAMILY! 🤗 HUGS 🤗
That's really pretty! I'm going to have to start small on this one before I start making my scarves and blankets with this style. Thank you for teaching it! I've never seen it before!
Thank you for your clear explanation and video! I must say, though, this stitch seems much too fiddly for me! After 4 rows I can't imagine doing any more! Maybe my yarn is less than ideal for this, but I'm going to look for another texture knit to substitute, because these P3togs are too much for me! 😂
So.... multiples of 4, + 1. I think you can actually make the knits sts at beginning and end the edge stitches. The first knit row is the right side of the work, and it is repeated for row 3. It is a 4 row repeat. The double p3tog with a yarn over, k1, happens on the wrong side and is placed between the clusters 2 rows below on subsequent pattern rows. To bind off, I would do it on the right side, or when starting the knit row. Nice video and the stitch creates a slightly lacy pattern, very nice.
Thank you for the lovely, helpful tutorial! I tend to knit quite tightly and especially when doing the 3 stitch purl. Do you have any advice on how to knit more loosely? I'm using 4mm needles. 🌻
So... try to pull up on each stitch after making it, it gives a little extra on each stitch. And, let the yarn slip thru your feeding hand once you draw the loop up and through.
I want to use this pattern for a baby blanket. I want the blanket to be 46 to 48 inches square, and I want a border. I am making this for my friend in Germany who is due in December with her second child that I learned today is a girl. Therefore, I want pink baby yarn, and small needles, but I don't know how to match up yarn size to needle size, or vice versa. Could you help me with this, and suggest a pretty border? BTW, I ❤ your tutorial. You have a clear speaking voice, and you explain things well. I'm in Virginia, USA.
I think I'll do a square of this in craft cotton to make a dishcloth. Not very exciting I know but an (old) girl needs dishcloths. I found a (relatively) cheap Bosnian style crochet shop on ebay (this is in Feb '23) at £7.99. It's plastic - my first go at it wasn't very pleasing and I undid it. Mind you I was using yarn I had unwound from a knitting project I decided I didn't like so I may have been putting myself at a disadvantage to start with. I'll try with 'fresh' yarn I think.
Thank you Very well explained And nice And slow. I'm Just practicing the daisy Stitch. Do you have a pattern for zigzag Stitch. Best tutorial I've watched. Well explained thanks
That's super cute! What if we want to use 2 different colors to make te daisy pop up? like white and green. When should I change wool color? Thanks for this tutorial. It's very easy to follow.
I am going to do this in a scarf but I would like to know, I want to add two stiches, knit stitch on front and end so the sides are clean and straight. Thoughts? I think a purl stitch though since it's a knit row in-between the pattern rows.
Can i ask something? The pattern is 1knite and 3 purl right? So we need 4 every pattern. So the total of basic knit must be multiple of 4 and plus 1? Am i right? So must be 12 + 1 Or 16 + 1 20 + 1 24 + 1 .....
If you click on the cc at top right of screen it means closed caption, it types out what Happy Berry is saying on your screen at the bottom of her video.
I'm just learning and have done a cable stitch. I have done this type of stitch in crochet so I thought this would be fun and not hard. Boy was I wrong! I've had so much trouble with it! I've ripped it out and started over 3 times already and it still doesn't look nice. Guess I'll use it as a dish rag. Knitting is not very nice to me and s much harder than crochet! I'm pulling my hair out but I will keep trying!

Thank you for sharing beginning to end, all rows of the stitch pattern, which was very helpful.

That's really pretty! I'm going to have to start small on this one before I start making my scarves and blankets with this style. Thank you for teaching it! I've never seen it before!
Thank you! Lovely, clear instructions with just the right amount of repetition.

Awesome 😊thank you ❤😍 this stitch...prettiness of spring 🌼
Thanks for a great tutorial! I’m using this stitch for a prayer shawl for a special friend💕🧶🙏
Thank you for your clear explanation and video! I must say, though, this stitch seems much too fiddly for me! After 4 rows I can't imagine doing any more! I’m gonna try this. It looks simple yet complex when complete. Thank yoi
Beautiful and wonderful tutorial. Will try this stich. As it's not so difficult too
Perfectly made and the design looks great👍
Very good demonstration- nice and slow. And repeated, even better!
Thanks for this video. I really like knitting this stitch. I probably missed it, but when does one bind off?
Very nice stitch, thanks for this tutorial.

Great video, Hello from South Africa.
Thank you for the tutorial! I’m also going to make a scarf using this pattern 🤩
I wish you would demonstrate the stitch doing continental knitting as well.
I wonder if a thicker yarn would result in the pattern being lost. Will have to try once I've finished my current scarf.
Thank you for the tutorial! I'm new to knitting, so what needle size and yarn type would you recommend for this?
Thank you for the lovely, helpful tutorial! I tend to knit quite tightly and especially when doing the 3 stitch purl. Do you have any advice on how to knit more loosely? I'm using 4mm needles. 🌻

Fun one. I always like getting past that first row no matter what the pattern is lol.
I hate the first row 😂

Hello ! I am a beginner and I was just wondering how would you cast off ? Thank you !
I have never knit, I've always done Tunisian crochet or crochet. I am using this knitting pattern mainly because I have a weakness for Daisy flowers.
Lovely pattern
Lol😂 this stitch broke my knitting pin, i laughed actually. 😅
I am going to do this in a scarf but I would like to know, I want to add two stiches, knit stitch on front and end so the sides are clean and straight. Thoughts? I think a purl stitch though since it's a knit row in-between the pattern rows.
I would think if you did purl stitch it may curl in.
Thanks. Love the stitch
I am beginning with my scarf . I had a library helping me but they closed the buliding .
I want to make a cardigan with this pattern. Is there a guide to do the cardigan?
Is this stitch also called a Star Stitch? Thank you so much for such a helpful video!
I think it is. just watched another video teaching about this pattern :)
@@abigailc6271 Thank you Abigail!!!
Really looking forward to try this out!
That is beautiful - thank you for sharing and teaching.
So from row two we have to keep continuing as the same right?
awesome video! You're awesome!
Thank you so much!
Im currently knitting a blanket in this stitch with a garter stitch border
Hi. Thank you for the tutorial. I made basic scarf for who i loved. I want yo learn about pattern and... I found this.
Can i ask something? The pattern is 1knite and 3 purl right? So we need 4 every pattern. So the total of basic knit must be multiple of 4 and plus 1? Am i right?
So must be 12 + 1
Or 16 + 1
20 + 1
24 + 1
.....
Sorry about my English. I hope you understand what i asked LOL
How to inceease and decrease in this pattern?
Messed this one up.
There are no videos showing you how to go back a few stitches to fix a mistake. Future video perhaps?
How many rows of four or do you do four then one and four again. Confused
You cast on 4, 4, 4, 4 as many times as you want for width then add 1 exta stitch add the very end =multiples of 4 + 1.
If you click on the cc at top right of screen it means closed caption, it types out what Happy Berry is saying on your screen at the bottom of her video.
thanks for a perfect explanation😅
Thank you.
