    Honestly after watching a bunch of these videos and reading your website I feel very confident with QT and treatment. I had a velvet outbreak in my tank and have lost only 2 out of ten fish and the 8 I have left are receiving the hybrid TTH method. So far they are looking great and eating again in QT whilst my tank runs fallow for 8 weeks. I would like to add that I initially put them in a product called ‘multi-cure’ by blue planet for 6 days. It contains copper, meth blue and acriflavine which IMO destroyed the velvet and helped the fish to heal.

      @@HumblefishReef yes they are eating again too. Also a video that describes internal parasites and how to diagnose these would be great. Sorry if you have one up already

    Also for second treatment, how long after the second treatment should you do a water change?

    I checked every where sadly these medications aren't available in my market which is a bit surprising. Must be what's in them that's not allowed maybe. But, I was able to get Seachem Paragaurd so will use that tomorrow and see how it goes. Will dose slowly. Any other medication recommendation?. Really enjoy your research Sir on all topics very informative.

      A 5 minute freshwater dip will work to remove skin flukes: humble.fish/community/index.php?threads/freshwater-dip.20/
      Or sometimes a peroxide bath will dislodge flukes: humble.fish/community/index.php?threads/hydrogen-peroxide-bath.21/
      In both cases, multiple dips/baths must be done to completely eradicate the worms.

      @@HumblefishReef I did a 3.30 min freshwater bath on the young hippo tang and 2-3 min on the clowns as they had no sign of these worms. I dosed half of the recommended medication of Paragaurd the fish don't seen stressed except the tang is hiding in my QT.
      Will check on them tomorrow. My tang was a bit sluggish.
      Thanks again I will follow the Paragaurd dosing procedure as it removes flukes in a week. If not will try hydrogen peroxide after a few days of rest.

    When can you turn UV or protein skimmer back on?

    • @HumblefishReef
      @HumblefishReef  3 місяці тому

      72 hours after dosing Prazi, but your skimmer might overskim for longer than that.

    Hey, I really want to quarantine corals and inverts, but I cannot as I live in a tropical country where the water can reach 114 degrees Fahrenheit. So, I can only quarantine fish. I could quarantine corals and inverts but I would need a chiller and it’s too expensive, so my parents won’t allow me to. So what should I do? Please let me know. Thanks a lot. Please reply.

    Can I "deworm" all fish as a profilatic method before addind to my tank ?

    • @HumblefishReef
      @HumblefishReef  2 роки тому +1

      Yes. Most people use Prazipro (2x, 5-7 days apart) to deworm their fish in QT: humble.fish/community/index.php?threads/praziquantel.25/

      @@HumblefishReef any difference start deworming protocol first then do the copper protocol or is it mandatory to start with copper ? Tangs can handle copper ? Which species are not copper tollerant ? Thanks a lotv

    • @HumblefishReef
      @HumblefishReef  2 роки тому

      @@solarchuva7042 Most people start copper first because parasites typically kill faster than worms. Most tangs will tolerate copper, but it’s also important to remember that copper intolerance can be an individual thing. Just like how certain people cannot tolerate meds that 99% of the population are fine with.

    Hi HumbleFish, what do you think about Hydroplex as a dip?

    • @HumblefishReef
      @HumblefishReef  2 роки тому +2

      I’ve never had much success with that product. You would be better off using Ruby Reef Rally in a 90 minute bath.

    I'm currently QT'ing a few fish with Copper and Nitrofurazone, would it be ok to add Prazipro to the QT tank as well? or should Prazi be done separately.

    • @HumblefishReef
      @HumblefishReef  2 роки тому +1

      It would be best to deworm with praziquantel afterwards. If you do combine them, be sure to use lots of surface agitation to offset oxygen depletion.
