  • I explain why Fescue is not bad for horses, cattle, goats, sheep, etc... and help you with what IS bad. You can see how the partial information leads to a broad assumption that is not (necessarily) correct.

Thank you so much for making this video. We talked about this yesterday and I was hoping I could remember everything you told me. It's obvious you take pride in your hay!

@liaison51 THAT'S going to be part of my "problem" with this channel; sometimes I'm serious, all business and passionate about the subject on my mind; most times, I'm just working (and therefore in a good mood) and want to share THAT... but my dry sense of humor is a deal-killer for lots of people. I just gotta be "me", I guess and let the card fall where they may. Glad you learned a little something.

Need your professor character for these videos. Very informative, nice clear video, enjoyed watching it while I was eating paste. :-)

Interesting. I had never heard of fescue until spending time with my ex girlfriend in North Carolina. I’m from the Pacific Northwest and I don’t believe we have it up here. When I was a kid my uncle grew alfalfa and oat hay and of course we have Timothy up here. Anyway we tried some fescue once with her goats and they didn’t seem to care for it for some reason.

People think goats will eat ANYTHING... not true; they're need GOOD groceries; the will just eat anything that you don't WANT them to. 😁 PNW should be in the zone to grow it as it's a cool season grass, but I couldn't say; it might ALSO be a poorer soil think. Can't hardly raise hell with a gallon of moonshine on the ground around here.

These goats in question were rather fond of the neighbor’s newspaper, every cigarette butt they could find on the road, and seemingly just about anything that belonged to me and not the ex girlfriend. I took the hint and left. Lol.
I used to want a goat. Now, not so much.

@@FarmlessFarmer-xs1he My ol' Molly dog will work Sheep, Cows, HOGS, and chickens JUST fine; when I have her work goats for my uncle or my neighbor buddy, she acts like it hurts her feelings. 🤷‍♂
