new follower from the 518 i play at Stone or used to before I hit financial problems hope I see u there
Yet another certified banger
Thanks for the support Nate! After seeing you play last weekend we gotta get you in one of these!
Hey man. On that AK hand where the board was J86T, after checking the flop you should probably be checking the turn too, looking to see a cheap river card/get to showdown. However, if you do decide to bet the turn you need to bet the river at a high frequency when you get called as long as it's a blank, or if its an A/K/Q. So the 4h on the river is actually a really good card for you to barrel bc your opponents have a ton of single pair + gutshot hands in their range on the turn. So you're going to want to apply a lot of pressure on those types of hands. Yea, you're going to get called down by Jx hands a bunch but there are way more 98, T9, QT, etc hands in their range when it they check flop and x/c turn. So put maximum pressure on those types of hands on blank rivers (anything under a 6).
I'm a regular Horseshoe player btw, keep up the good work!
The reason why they have more 2nd and 3rd pair + gutshot is bc hands like QJ, JT, J9, J8, etc are generally leading turn as opposed to x/c. AJ/KJs is prob a raise preflop and KJ prob mixes between checking and leading turn.
@@JoshM0121 Joshua thank you! I couldn't agree more. You make a great point if I bet turn I should bet river. I think against that specific player checking turn after checking flop makes a lot of sense in that exact scenario. Also that's awesome! I love Horseshoe! I'm working on a vlog right now from a recent session at MD live, but I'm hoping to play at Horseshoe not this weekend but the next weekend. Hope to see you there!
It’s hard to raise properly when playing in a game bigger than your bankrolled for. All your raises were too small IMO. Glad you got your feet wet, but 1-3 should be your game size. If there is a $10 straddle and someone limps, your raise needs to be a minimum of $50. I would raise bigger, $60 perhaps, and if you know your opponents are sticky go larger. It’s hard to play properly on a short bankroll. Keep the vlogs coming!
Doug! Thank you for the comment! I totally agree. This 2/5 was nice because it was a small max buy in of 500, however 1-3 is definitely the game I am going to stick to! Thanks for the tips on raise sizing I will keep that in mind. Also how many buy ins do you recommend bringing to a cash game? I have always been a 1 buy in only player, however I think I am comfortable bringing more than 1 buy in with my current bankroll. Let me know! Thanks!
@@ESPPoker I like having 3 bullets, usually only need 2, 95% of the time, but I play better knowing I have a 3rd bullet in my pocket. You should have a bankroll of 20 buy ins for the game you play. I always think of max buy in, but some prefer 100bb. So for a 1-3 min bankroll should be 6k, I buy 500, so 10k is very comfortable. Most players are not properly bankrolled, the variance will eventually catch up to them. When playing with a short bankroll it’s ok to be nitty with your starting hands, but still play them aggressively.
@@dougmccuskerpoker Ahh gotcha thanks! Ill plan on bringing a second bullet next time I play. So to be honest my bankroll I am comfortable with losing is probably around 4k. However, I only play twice a month. So since I play so infrequently, is it ok to have a smaller bankroll? My thought is ill plan on upping my bankroll to a number like 8k in the upcoming year or so.
@@ESPPoker when I speak of bankroll requirements it is for grinding several days a week. If your playing occasionally, it can be anything if you don’t derive your income from it.
@@dougmccuskerpoker Good to know, Thanks Doug! I really appreciate all the advice you have given me throughout my vlogs, definitely going to try to do more studying and improve my game!
Honestly good folds
Hey I appreciate the comment! I have a tendency of overfolding but in this video I think I did make some good folds thank you
What do you use as a body cam, GoPro? Ever have issues with casinos and recording while inside?
Hey thanks for the comment! I film with my Iphone which I prop up against my chips. I don't usually have problems recording, but my best advice is to not touch your phone while in the middle of a hand and just keep it lowkey. If you have any other questions let me know!
Can you tell me the camera your using? I wanna do this
Just using my Iphone XR! You really don't need anything fancy to vlog haha
That first hand, bet 30! Be aggressive! If it doesn't hit, get out....when you really wish you should raise, DO IT!!
This is my casual casino I play poker at and the dealers know me by name lol.. Was never able to film tho. Lmk if you ever go back!
Will do!
How do you record your games thanks great video
Hey so usually I just prop my phone up against either a water bottle or my chips. I use a iPhone XR which is not to big, so its easy to lean against something.
Great video brother, would love to play with you sometime at horseshoe!
Thanks bro! I am actually thinking of going to Horseshoe this Saturday if your around!
@@ESPPoker I’m not gonna be in town this weekend but I’ll definitely catch you there sometime and keep up the great content bro!
@@bigfrank1449 Thank you!
Would you recommend turning stone to Anyone who lives +2.5 hours away? Heard the action here has its ups and downs
I would recommend it but you're right. The action really depends on the table. Although if you go on a day that has a lot of tables running you can always just get a table change. I recommend downloading the bravo poker app and calling in ahead if u go. Hope this helps!
Nice going, brave of you to film in an indian casino.
Thank you! Yea I run a risk everytime I film, but I believe getting table footage makes poker vlogs authentic!
Apologies for that big blind blunder Evan….come back and we as the dealers will make sure to be point on. Big tournaments this month starting on the 16th. Hooyah
Hey thanks for the comment! Haha it is quite all right the amount of hands that dealers deal in a day I get it mistakes happen! I gotta make my way back to turning stone soon!
Right on man !
Please keep posting. This is pure comedy
Haha ty will do
I’m here for that intro music
Ayy thanks bro! The artists name is Green Piccolo if you wanna check out his music
What is your plan when you're card dead. I literally waited over 1-1/2 hour to get something nothing had to leave that night
Depends. Usually If I'm card dead I will get up for a quick walk to clear my head. Other than that there is not much you can do. Just gotta be patient
Turning Stone has some of the softest cash games in NY IMO. Complete bits or absolute maniacs that will call three streets with Jack High and no draw.
EDIT: that first hand with the mistake of a dealer, I think I’ve had him before, has exposed cards and dealt rivers before the pot is complete lmao.
Bro I couldn't agree more haha definitely a mix of maniacs and nits. Also that's funny that you have had that dealer haha. It was a nice poker room I hope to go back sometime!
@@ESPPoker yr the nit, you Play your cards face up.
I wouldn’t have folded too set at the end
Yea it was a really annoying spot to be in haha
I go to this casino a lot I hit here a couple of times
Im a fan of the property. Definitely want to go back
Wow either u were nervous or u have a terrible nerve problem with how bad your hands shake
Lol
I understand this was your first stab at 2/5 but your play on this video is the play of a losing player, a straddle pot for 10 plus the blinds and a caller for ten (27) dollar pot a raise to 20 is horrendous….raise needs to be a minimum of 50, I’d say 60-65 is better though…then later on w/ your AA, there’s two 25 dollar callers and you raise it to 85?…. That’s bad bad, honestly very lucky to have made a $100 on this session due to a cooler, I’m not sure if it was your nerves or something but stuff like limping 99 and some serious overfolds are the sign of a player that isn’t ready for live poker yet, this is a good video and don’t wanna hate but there was times watching this it was almost hard to not cringe and shake my head at the decisions you made, I’m going to watch a new video of yours and see if your bet sizing and overall ability has improved…i hope so lol but regardless don’t wanna sound like I’m sending hate I’m just letting you know so you can hopefully be a profitable player in the live 1/3 and 2/5 streets
Hi Dalton! I appreciate the constructive feedback. So I went to Vegas last summer and I took a break from Live poker and making the videos. Pretty much I knew I was not improving as quickly as I want to, but I wasn't doing anything about it. I have one more Vegas video to make, then I am going to really study hard before my return. I appreciate the comment and I really want to get better at poker. Thank you!
I hope your play got better. Sorry I'm out.
LOL this has to be one of the funniest comments I have gotten. Like you are announcing your departure 🤣
Turning stone casino has the worst cardroom I've ever played at.
Yea I mean I thought it was ok nothing crazy. What made it a bad experience for you?
You folded those 9’s? Your hands were shivering like a wet chiwawa. Yuk.
Bruh this was creative haha I got a good laugh out of this
