    Good job guys, Jeep looks great. Front lower control arms installation Tip> To go from stock to Mopar or Teraflex fixed lower front controls arms, it is super easy doing it on the ground with the tires on. Absolutely nothing needed. Just do one side at a time and when you remove the stock lower control arm, it moves forward exactly what you need to install the longer one in place. Have done 5 jeeps so far and the bolts slide right in with no need to push or pull the axle. It is important however to only do one side at a time.

    Thanks for making the video and giving so much information. I installed an XR take off suspension on my JLUS and it came out amazing! I did add a few additional parts like a SteerSmarts adjustable track bar, Metalcloak front spring correction pads, and Synergy rear sway bar drop brackets. I haven’t measured yet, but I got a nice amount of lift to stuff 35’s under the fenders.

    Hey, been searching for this exact video. Got the exact same lift and was simply looking for a rubicon takeoff. Eyes got 👀 when I saw we matched! Thanks for the video!

    So nice to see a father & daughter doing such great work in the shop. Looks like you have a superb working shop as well, would love to have a lift and all those tools :) The quality and the information in your video is top notch, very well detailed w/ all the correct info and steps. Only thing I'd add is you can get a bag of hockey pucks and make your own bumps for about $15-20, but that's just the tightwad in me lol. I'm @blnewt over in the JL forum and am so glad you posted this video, I will be sure to link it in my Rubicon swap thread, you nailed it, and your JLU looks great!

      Thank you so much! It’s been fun doing the mods one by one; definitely have learned a ton about Jeeps just in the past year. Cool tip on using hockey pucks! That would be an interesting video to see. Glad you found the video helpful and I appreciate you sharing it on the forum!

    You guys are awesome! I have to order Metal Cloak 1"-4" rear bump stops as well. 2 questions please: How thick would you say that rear bump stop pad is? I would guess 1" from the video but the front got 2" bump stops so I'm not sure 2. Did you have to get a front alignment? Thank you and thank you for making this video.

      1. The rear bump stop pad is 1" thick
      2. No alignment was necessary based on the parts we swapped
      Hope this helps!

    Any rake in the front? Would a 1.5 front leveling kit be overkill? Great job on the build btw

    • @Snoboardinchick
      @Snoboardinchick  Рік тому

      We did notice some rake in the back when we first finished the install. However, once we mounted the spare tire and drove it around it leveled out nearly perfectly. If after that you still have more than a 1.5" rake, then it would be worth getting a leveling kit. We recommend installing it first and checking it out for yourself before putting in the money to get a leveling kit that might not be needed

    Hey, just the video I was looking for, and a fellow Mass Jeeper to boot. Have some questions for you.
    1) Did you have to change out the sway bar links or would the stock ones have worked?
    2) Do you happen to know the part number for the rear bump stop pads?
    3) With the front coil perch, did you have to swap out the Sport one for the Rubicon one?

    • @Snoboardinchick
      @Snoboardinchick  Рік тому

      1) You will need to swap out the sway bar links
      2) 7040 - also linked them in the description for convenience. We used the XR bump stops in the rear because the takeoff parts we got included them. If you don't have these, then the MetalCloak kit should work fine!
      3) For the front coil perch we used the Rubicon ones which worked great. The rear coil perch ended up needing the Sport.
      Hope this helps!

      I think the Sports will work just fine, they might even be the same as the XR takeoffs for the front. We chose to use the XR just to use as much from the kit we got as possible, but they may have been identical to the Sport for the front

    Did you guys put the bumpstops for the shocks or the potential rubbing in the fenders from the tires?

    • @Snoboardinchick
      @Snoboardinchick  2 роки тому

      We put the bump stops so the shocks wouldn’t bottom out. But I forgot to mention in the video that if you do this mod and have the Sport factory bumper, you will need to make a small mod so the 35” tires don’t rub. I’ll be uploading the bumper mod video in 2-3 weeks!

    -Sport to Rubicon it’s about 2.5” lift
    -Sport to Rubicon XR it’s about 4”lift??

    I was thinking of doing this to my 2019 rubicon. You by chance have all the part numbers for the extreme recon suspension?

    • @Snoboardinchick
      @Snoboardinchick  2 роки тому +1

      Cool! Keep in mind doing this lift on the Rubicon will only give you around a 1 1/2” lift so won’t be a huge difference. The mod makes a big difference when going from a sport lift to Xtreme Recon. But, if you’re still interested, this forum post has all the part numbers:

      Thanks for the forum! It was helpful. Still need the sway bar link numbers for front and back and the bump stop pad number. I think the l.5” lift is perfect. I was leaning towards the 2” mopar lift, but from what I’ve been reading it’s more like 3” and my wife said that’s too tall

    • @Snoboardinchick
      @Snoboardinchick  2 роки тому

      @@timmiltzow6268 Gotcha should be a nice little bump! I don't have the part numbers for the sway bar links. I'm not seeing them online specifically for Rubicon with XR package. If you're going to order them instead of using takeoff parts, then I'd recommend speaking with the sales person to confirm you have the right parts. The bump stop part number is 7040 and is linked in the description. You would just need to use one of the provided 4 bump stops to give you the lift you're looking for. Hope this helps!
