Thank you for such a great tutorial, I shall now watch it 1000 times. Lol
Glad it was helpful! Happy sewing.
I’m 64 and never used it , you made it sound so easy. I’m going to try it. Thank you honey ❤
Very welcome! Happy sewing & thank you for watching.
This is awesome. Now I can prepare bias with my scraps.
Woohoo 🥳
@@SewAnastasia Do you teach online as well as do these awesome videos. I thought I heard something at the end of this, I live in Hendersonville ,NC. I love sewing for children and heirloom sewing (I donate my my work to charity. All children deserve pretty things.)
@@maryblack5094 awww that’s amazing 🤩 I currently teach private virtual lessons & I am launching an online sewing academy this spring!
Thank you for filming this tutorial. I was searching how to make continuous bias and your video came up - thank goodness!
I’m now going to use this method on a 18.5” square and use the bias I make on the edges of a quilted vest I am making. It is the ‘Anouck’ by Joli Lab, a French pattern company. It’s very cold here in Australia at the moment and I’ve been looking forward to making this garment as it will be great for layering and using this method of bias making, now it’s going to be much easier and quicker. Thank you 👋😀🇦🇺
You are so welcome 🤗 I was actually just in AU & it is very cold in certain places there right now! One place I was wearing a winter coat & another a 👙.
You are awesome. Love your techniques!
Thank you :) If you have any specific ones you want to see let me know! Thank you for watching today.
Yes I do have a request. One for making a round opening neckline smaller. It's a little too open for me!
@@denisemorgan8045 interesting . I suppose the easiest thing to do is sew some fabric under the shirt opening. That’s a good sewing alterations video. I will add it to my list.
Thanks, see you in the next video
See you then! 💕
Great tutorial. Thank you so much for taking the time to create this DIY and sharing.
For sure! Thank you for watching 🎀💕
I knew there had to be an easier way! Thank you for this!
Ha. You are very welcome 🥳
This is genius!!!
😊
Oh my gosh I did it!!! I had to try twice because i didn’t align the lines offset the first time so it was just strips - but the second time I got the continuous strip how satisfying!
sooo cool right!? I am happy you got it to work. 🎀❤️
I've seen this method before, BUUUT, it was never explained in such depth as you did. TYSM for sharing this method with us. Also, I am gonna be making some of this to put on the edges of the tote bag I told you I was making for my sister. I have so much going on right now that I am finding it difficult to "stay with" making it for her right now. P. S. : I've TRIED making the bias tape like this, using the method on the other video I said I've seen, and, it didn't turn out right. DK just what I did wrong, but, with how you explained to make it, I'm almost 100 % percent positive (bout 99.99%) that I will be able to cut the tape correctly. 😉 But,, with what you explained, I'm thinking I must've cut it the wrong way. 🤪 So, TYSM for sharing this video with us. Love your channel. 😍👍❣😻
Thanks so much for watching! Just keep at it. You'll get it, and your sister will love it. Send me pics! I love seeing when I've helped people sew something!
@@SewAnastasia I will send you a picture of it when I get through making it. Prob won't be until sometime next month though - when I get paid - cause I hafta wait until I can get more fabric she likes before I can continue making it. 😉👍😻
so cool
Thanks for watching :)
This is great!! I've been buying my bias tapes, but could never 100% match the fabric of my quilts. Now I can simply cut it myself from the same fabric! Just a question: I love your big cutting board, but I can't seem to find it online or in the stores. Could you tell me what brand and size it is? Thank you for the great videos and your help!!
You are so welcome! The board is from JOANN.
Thank you so much for this video 🙂 I really like to design my own clothes but I don't know how to start. Is there any book or course that can help me learn to draft patterns?
Do you have any suggestions?
Great question! I am creating an online course for pattern drafting right now. It will be out this Spring. 1st a sewing 101 course is coming then the pattern drafting one. Keep an eye out for it. There are also some great garment design books by helen joseph armstrong.
So can you use this method for your chenille strips by adding 3 or more fabric squares together?
You can use this for chenille strips!!! Sew as many 45 angle 📐 pieces together as you want.
I want to apply and work in your shop if there is a chance I really like the way u teach
💕
I can't get it using a 17x17 square and 2 1/2 inch wide strips with a design fabric? Should I have done my 1/4 seam and lines on the right side of the fabric? I just don't get the joining process....
Right sides together when you sew your seam. So the seam ends up on the inside. You can use any size square. You can cut 2.5 inch wide strips. Just make sure u cut off any of extra that’s not 2.5 wide before you join the second seam. Try doing it with me step by step. Hope that helps!
@@SewAnastasia thank you so much I watch you all the time. I have a Husqvarna Epic 95Q as well as a Topaz50 and the Amber air S 400 and the s25. I think my left-handed brain is making this more difficult than it is, but I love the concept and I really enjoy following things that you show us and teach. Thank you very much. Jon
So much of a timesaver.
Playing the video with the absolute slowest speed I could not follow your folding.
I hope you got it!
Love the editing in this video, especially the disaster warning at 3:40 🤣
At the beginning of covid, I made hundreds of cotton masks for my local hospital. Elastic material was nowhere to be found so I made bias tape to make ties. Ended up making about 2 miles of tape! Wish I had this technique then as I did it the *other* way -- sewing hundreds of pieces together to make one long strip. If you're curious, there's about half a mile of quarter-inch bias tape in a queen-size flat sheet!
You’re in Chicago?! Now I wanna sew together.
Let's do it!!! You can never have too many sewing friends.
