@@pyracantha6028 Bought it, the 35 m one, happy with it. Edit: Really happy with it. Just one thing to know, if pressurized the tube gets inflated, and wont roll up well. Depressurize it before rolling up, and it will do nicely.
Can the leader hose be swapped out for a different one (I need a leader hose that is larger in length, the leader hose in the video is too small to reach my outdoor faucet for where I want to install it)?
Hi, I had a look into this for you. You can remove the centre cap and then you can actually remove the feeder hose and add a new one, its just pushes on and a plastic clip holds it in place. Just take a minute or two to do. You could take some hose from the main hose too if you have enough spare length that not needed, ie its much longer than your garden. Hope this helps.
Not sure but I know you can buy replacment hoses that are better and made from rubber rather than a plastic. You need to do a google search for replacement hoses
Does the hose drag in the dirt and if so is there any trouble with the hose in the wall box? Does it get stuck or anything like that? Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
I have it on the hose wall and between where it is and where the end of the wall ends is about 3 meters and I have a hose guide so it does touch the floor until its fully extended but I've not had issues, rolls in nicely every time. Hope this help.
can be very heavy and clunky to deal with, its certainly not the easily to handle. and you have to have some form of strength to not only pull it, but to unlock its motion when it locks itself in place.,
I actually leave it on but i make sure the hose is fully drained first and had no issues, you should probably put it away for winter though and its easy enough as there just one screw to remove.
Not sure about the Giraffe hose but its much better quality than the hozelock reels as I used these before. Up to now i not seen a better one that the one by Gardena
@@pyracantha6028 All good, its an Australian brand that is considered very well built but they don't have standard connections so once you use that tap line for the hoselink reel you have to remove non-standard connectors to use it with other devices which would be annoying. I don't know much about Giraffe but I think it is similar where it also has non-standard connections.
Great review of a solid product thank you. Got a soft spot for Gardena as a brand. The only thing is the unwind and rewind mechanism is so loud. I'd think it would drive me mad. Sadly I think it would be deal breaker for me 😓 Gutted.
Hi Pyra - thanks for a great review - much appreciated. You said the hose is rated a 10/10 - I have a normal hose rated 7/10 and I find that it is somewhat heavy to use, especially when hosing the car. Is this hose a bit heavy and / or stiff for car washing where you need to do detail light hosing? (Australia)
@@pyracantha6028 I was just thinking along garden sinds it's a garden product. @@pyracantha6028 I tried to convince my partner to buy one but she refused.. Her argument was it looked big and ugly on the wall, would not last probably failing when the guarantee ran out.. Thanks for the review anyway..
Be careful ordering from this company! I just spent close to $500 on three of these retractable hose reels. Upon receiving them I found that 2 of the packages were missing all the screws and accessories. I have spent the entire day trying to get the company to send me the missing pieces. I have made 3 phone calls and sent at least 4 emails in response to their questions. The customer service at this company is as useless as their product is without the accessories. Be careful before you spend the money!!!
Sorry to hear about that, did you buy direct? I get my Gardena tools from Amazon, so replacements have never been a problem. It's a shame they have not dealt with it better, as I honestly think they make some of the best gardening tools.
Previous version was much more better - had a handle to carry it and was easy to hide it before winter. Now it’s prettier but where is the German pragmatism in the design? It’s lost!
Great review, i think this convinced me to buy the Gardena one instead of the Amazon basics one. Greetings from germany.
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks for the review mate kids are loving this
Glad you enjoyed it
Great review.
Thanks!
What length do you get on the hose attaching to thextap please? Is it adjustable? Because the postvi want to put it on is 1.5 metres from the tap
Did you have to purchase different anchors to mount in the brick?
I got this. The hose is not go back in totaly. I need to drain the hose for it to work at all
Hello, a year later how are you finding this? Cheers

I'd guess you would need an extension join. Should be fairly cheap

How long is the length from the crane to the hose? 1m it seems or is it longer...?
Specification says 150cm
You can cut main hose and reattach to make it longer mate

Thanks for the review. There's no 'i' in Gardena though ;)
My bad
I'm low on the wall (40cm)
It must be at least a few centimeters in order to work in place
Please measure the installed reel.
Thanks for the video =)
My pleasure!
Hi do you pull it off the wall once the summer is over or do you leave it?A nice review , thanks for sharing

I think he was thinking of the flower!🤣
I bought it for £109 in costco but I am not a handy man so can't put it on the wall
It's called Gardena as opposed to Gardenia

I don't think its that loud, I would actually probably says its fairly quiet for a hose reel.
Might sound noisy because it's unwinding next to the microphone

Chafing against the corner of that wall will soon rub through the hose buddy, I’ve seen it happen. 😳
Yes I have since added a corner hose guide that I thread it through to stop it rubbing
What's a "Gardinea"? Shouldn't it be pronounced as gar-de-na? 🤔
I know for next time, i'm hopeless when it comes to pronouncing words properly lol
