LOL 5:05 pointing out how great the 6 foot leader hose is on the Tacklife as if the Gardena would be insufficient when a 4 foot leader would have easily reached.
I just bought the US marketed version of this hose in July 2024. It came with 3 male threaded quick connects and 1 female threaded quick connect.

lol at recommending that Tacklife over the Gardena. This is like saying I recommand Dodge over Audi. I prefere buying quality even tho I’m paying more short term. Also the best mount is Gardena (not close actually) if you mount it on your wall.

    • @WooderBoyProductions

Lol. Who cares the better mount. You can’t even use regular American made nozzles with it.

@@WooderBoyProductions well, you seemed to care very much about the mount on your video. :)
As for nozzles, I won’t say Dodge is better than Audi just because I can’t use regular American made engine oil on Audis.
If you review was an objective one, you would have mentioned those as minor cons (for someone with your configuration and preferences) and you would have talked about the pros rather than telling people to not to buy the best retractable hose on the market and get instead a TackLife.

I find this review very strange. It's like you're angry at them for sending you a product that doesn't fit your requirements.
The product is an expensive, high quality, retractable hose reel. From your review (and many others), it seems like it's pretty good at being a high quality retractable hose reel and works well.
The quick fit connections are common and popular. If you want a different fitting, just replace the adapter on the end.
This version is designed to be wall mounted. They offer a model that is ground mounted.
I have no idea where you're measuring the feed hose from as you didn't show it in your footage. I don't know why they would give false measurements for this.
It's fair to suggest extra packaging although the shipping company should really be able to avoid damaging a box like that.
It is fair to suggest that a smaller mount would be more versatile.
It's fair to suggest that adding extra adapters and nozzles would make it more versatile but they do provide a complete package with a fully functional nozzle, and extras would increase cost. It's very normal to let you buy your own extras to your requirements.
I don't own one or have any bias. This just seems like a very unhelpful review and concluding that it's a piece of junk seems like nonsense.

This comment sums it up. Sure, it didn't fit the specific needs this guy had in his market area, but that's a nit-picky edge case compared to who the product is aimed at. Using the wrong product to start with (wall mounted vs ground mounted) is just silly.

I think you're nutz with regard to the quick connect system. If you don't want quick-connect, go get another tatz or whatever that other one you have is.
The quick connect is *awesome*. It works so freaking well, I added one to my car-wash pump, and I even started adding them to the laundry system in my basement for quick changeouts of where water is sourced.
If you want to be cheap, if you want to pause for like, 3 minutes every time you switch out a head, then this system is not for you.
If you don't mind spending a little to get some excellent functionality and efficiency, then it's perfect.

I don't want to be rude and I hope my point of wive don't get lost in translation. I am a Swedish guy and Gardena is a former German company that is now owned by Husqvarna (Automover, chain saws and more). Now. You have a pole that you want to use to mount the thing on. You have a sprinkler that you want to use. If I would decide what hose reel I want to by based on a pole and a nozzle, I would read about the measeurements of the mounting plates and before I got it home, see if the things fits together. Isn't that poor research? I can confess to be a Gardena Fan boy, but maybe it is because of different climate and so. In Sweden the summer is 4-5 month. I keep my reel and hoses on the north side of the hose with few sun hours. So, for me, this stuff works excellent for a decade or more. So, That is wy I gave this video a thumb down. Not to be rude or to be a smart ass but just to point out poor research. Piiz. /Ricard, Sweden

It uses Hozelock-style connectors, they're extremely common and the de facto standard in most of Europe. Makes sense that Gardena uses them as they're a Germany company, but admittedly makes this (and a lot of their other) product a bit awkward in the US market.

Love my big Gardena hose, It's German just like my Golf R ❤️ and while I think this review can be perfectly useful because you did give it credit for being good at what it is designed to do just not what you want to do I have to agree with other people who have suggested that you are a little bit picky these hoses our on another level completely to anything that's offered locally in Australia I think there was one other brand that was offered online that was very highly regarded but as someone who is not about to wake a wake for something to come online and yeah it is awake where I am crazy slow, That being said on not waiting that long when I need something I need it yesterday. Eventually I'd like to upgrade to a fully soft rubber hose that can be used for both an air compressor and a garden hose already have a beautiful air hose right now that I wish was my garden hose just because of its soft crazy flexible nature not really sure why Gardena didn't use that to be honest I understand rubber is probably not going to stand up to Australian sun very well but the whole thing with their hoses is they can be taken off the stand and put away in a gardening shed or something anyway so if it's only used in the sun when it's being used instead of baking old every day a rubber hose should be an option. ✌️

Ignore all of the ignorant comments, everything you said has merit.
One thing that I will disagree about is that about a year ago Amazon was shipping everything that they could without a bag or a box in order to save money. The way your box arrives is what some of my packages looked like when I received them. One example is when I ordered some Haynes undershirts and Amazon shipped the shirts without any, as in no, packaging. It was like someone went into Wal-Mart and pulled the shirts off the shelve and slapped a shipping label on the plastic bag. Of course the bag was all ripped-up when I received it. Things got so bad that Amazon started putting "packaging" as one of the tick-boxes when you left negative feedback for the shipment. They caught so much heat that they went back to shipping most things in a bag or a box.

I guess the product is just not meant for american market.
On a massive house, there is no siding, so you can fill the hole when you remove it.
And the quick disconnect is standard in europe, and much more convenient than a screw in attachment. And no, they don't break easily, I have some that are 15+ years, with no problem.
But sure, for America it's maybe not fit.

  • @realMysta
    @realMysta Рік тому +7

Just kind of a thought - you mention the quick connects as a negative but in reality if you're buying one of these you likely want in the ecosystem and although I don't have Gardena stuff I have quick connects on everything because if you have a SINGLE thing that doesn't have a quick connect that makes it a huge pain in the ass because you have to remove the quick connect to connect that thing, completely negating having them in the first place. So if I were buying this I would plan to buy to buy the quick connects too. I have several versions of quick connects and almost none of them work interchangeably except the 'generic' ones. So IMO this isn't a negative but more of a consideration, do you want to join the ecosystem or not.

Great video, I appreciate you pointing out the mounting situation. That would drive me nuts. Also why wouldn't they use a standard hose end? That is very stupid. It should always have a standard end thus giving the user full flexibility to use the nozzle or quick connect system they chose. You saved me from a disappointing purchase. Now the question is, which hose system is going to be the best bang for the buck?

This isn't even a review; the entire video is a complaint because you didn't do any research. The contents are all listed in the advertisements, so why did you think you would get a sprayer? The connecting system is advertised on every Gardena product, so again, you didn't read the ad. Additionally, you bought the wall mount version and complained about drilling into your expensive house walls, when you could have bought the ground spike version instead.
