Nobody reads this far down...what are you doing down here?
Very informative John. I read my manual like 100 times and could not figure out how to manually ground balance. I watch your video and you had me manually ground balancing in 30 seconds. I hope you do a metal detecting 202 intermediant series as well
Thanks Mark! Glad to be of help. That is the plan for sure to go into a 202 series with more advanced tips and tricks.
Thank you for a clear, concise explanation of Ground Balancing. It has been sort of a mystery to me and I have been detecting since 1978. Your explanation of "pushing" or "pulling" sound into the ground is a very easy mnemonic to remember! THANKS AGAIN!
My pleasure - glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching!
I am a newbie and your few lessons on this, seperation, recovery speed etc answered so many things I wanted to know-just saw your lactone on leaving metal detecting I am so sorry you are a great teacher that knows what you are talking about-I am 78 yrs old ,always wanted a metal detector from when digging in my yard 65 yrs ago in the bronx ny I found 2 Indian head pennies,[I think they were 1902] but I never had the extra money to spend on toys for my self-so I worked 2 jobs most of my life managed to save enough to buy 96 acres in the Catskills 30 yrs ago and retired at 69 yrs old I decided now or never-I ended up getting 8 stents after feeling pain in my shoulders climbing the mountains last yr-worked good for me. take care of yourself and thanks for the lessons. I think one day I will have to replace a valve in my heart but now they do it like the stents-no opening your chest up.
Great information....I had no idea about pushing and pulling noise.....THANK YOU
Always a pleasure!
Right on man. I wish some people had a ground balancing button.
Excellent comment lol
Very well explained. thanks
Thanks Mike!
I have to say that was an awesome video Hunter GT
Thank you...nice of you to say that.
Thank you for this. I was wondering what ground balancing was and if I really needed to spend extra to get a metal detector with automatic ground balancing. I don't mind doing this manually to save some money though. Thanks again!
Glad to be of service! Thanks for watching.
thanks john
Enjoyed watching
great info as usual hunter. i will stick with groundgrab
Hey John, exciting news(for me), got my first large cent at park. 1828, nice and green. Posting here because I quit Facebook
That is fantastic Claude! What a great coin to cross off the bucket list. Plenty of guys never find one before they retire. Congratulations!
Good video! It would’ve never occurred to me to use anything other than the GB button on my detector - it works well for me.
And that will be good enough for 95% of the "experts" out there. If you have a quick grab option...use it!
I have a Dr Otek and assume GB is automatic. When powering on should the coil be on the ground or in the air.
That is pretty cool. Thanks :)
Quite welcome. Thanks for watching!
Bonjour l'ami merci pour ce moment de partage a + et bonne detect 😉 ✌ 👍 🍻
Mon plaisir. Merci d'avoir regardé de la France!
Dear TheHunterGT If we run the detector at neutral {automatic ground balance}, will we get a false signal. Thanks
In theory...no. Setting the proper ground balance is always the superior way.
@@thehuntergt thanks dear
Some great tips for those who use the Makro or Nokta machines. Keep up the great work and videos

Yep and try not to balance over metal right .? really good explanation of how that works but I' still don't get it lol I never knew why we gb other than to shut the chatter up . Is there any other benefit ?
Yeah for sure balance over a clean spot. As far as the other benefits...better depth...better ID...less false signals...smoother performance. Going a bit positive or negative will increase some of those attributes - while decreasing others. It will be up to your soil conditions and detector to find the perfect combo...or just run it neutral like most do.
Great video i have always used preset ground balance. Will manual improve performance sir.
In most cases manual setting is the preferred option.
Awesome
Thanks!
Very nice. What about the threshold? That's something that I don't understand
That will be a separate video entirely. The threshold buzz is the audio signal used for balancing...however...it will need it's own video to explain it.
What are the advantages of ground balance , great vid, more depth ?
More depth - less chatter - better ID on fringe targets. Thanks for watching!
TheHunterGT strange as I’m running 2.77 on simplex plus. Now if I leave ground balance at 90.0 I can run fully open. But if I ground balance I have to drop 1 bar on sensitivity to make the machine stable enough to use.
Good work
Great info!
Thank you!
👍👍👍
Don’t call me a noob!
A newb not a noob! Totally different! 😎
TheHunterGT you must be a noob to words 😂🤣😎
@@leftoversoversigjt7719 Not my fault you don't know the difference! I clearly pronounced it "ew" instead of "oo". 😁
No audio
Sounds good to me. :)
I can hear it
