      Hunters right with the NOX..........any detector that has a gold setting will 99% of the time will be a DD coil, simply because of high mineralisation areas where most gold is found.

    HOW TO adapt mono coil to DD metal detector ?

  • @timrogers2045
    @timrogers2045 5 років тому +1

    Excellent tutorial video. You give a great overview /analysis on these two respective search coil platforms; their assets and their down-sides, as well as dispelling the myths surrounding the field/shape of ground penetration between Concentric and DD coils. Very interesting, extremely well presented, and of significance to both newcomers and seasoned detectorists alike. Bang on! ATB, & Take Care.

    I don't know if anyone else has considered this but my pinpointing function seems more accurate with the concentric coil.

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  2 роки тому

      Correct. The inner circle being so small does a much better job at showing direct center compared to a DD which can drift much more on dead center.

    So how do I make my own coil

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  5 років тому

      Guys do it in their garages for PI and BFO machines...so it is possible. I'm leaving it to the experts myself. Every home job was maybe 50% depth of a stock coil.

    Is a concentric coil the same thing as mono coil? Thanks!

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  4 роки тому +1

      A mono coil only has a single loop. Concentric is two loops...one inside of the other.

    • @kaisersose5549
      @kaisersose5549 3 роки тому +1

      A true mono coil is only used in pulse induction metal detectors.
      Beat frequency oscillation metal detectors can appear to have a single coil but actually have a second smaller one in the control box.
      Very low frequency metal detectors require two coils in close proximity to function.

    Which would you use on a beach.

    • @thehuntergt

      Concentric as beaches are full of bottle caps and trash. I would prefer the stronger ID and disc capabilities.

      Normally I use the 15 inch DD coil for the beach as. A larger DD coils cover more ground. My xterra 705 detector can use both coils.

      @@nts323 works very well very good at pin pointing with the stock concentric coil. it also works good at the beach but not as well as the more expensive Nox 800. I have 3 coils and the stock concentric one is my favourite as I use that more often.
