I absolutely cannot stand people who think it's cute to give "anti-spoilers". The people making them think they're being clever, but it's obvious to anyone with a brain. I'm quite sure I've had arguments with them about this on your channel, I know I've had them on Shayla's and Alex's. Just... why would you even risk diminishing someone's enjoyment just so you can briefly feel clever for no earned reason?
Just watched this after watching the finale. I absolutely loved Sutekh's character design, the way he curls around the Tardis. Thinking of getting a tattoo designed of it 🤔
banning people who are "accidentally" spoiling things for you isn't harsh, it's pretty much the only thing you can do. it's not like they're gonna stop just because you asked them to. and even if they did, the next batch of idiots is always on the way. I swear people are just getting dumber and dumber. 🙄
no one was accidentally spoiling people were being rtarded trying to be clever with a nudge nudge wink wink hint hint. just moronic. about as moronic as anakin blowing up the death star TWICE and killing millions of people.... forget that fact that it was luke and once anakin if anything was the one partly in charge of the death star which blew up planets killing BILLIONS so luke killing millions of nazis is a far smaller crime
It would have been difficult to have a 'Tales of the Tardis' reunion for this episode. Apart from Tom and Gabriel the only member of the cast who is still with us is Vic Tablian, who played Scarman's Egyptian assistant in the first episode. Amusing as it would have been for him to show up in the Memory Tardis and watch events he didn't know happened, probably best to use it as they did. Incidently, Tablian played both Indie's sidekick in the opening sequence and the man with the monkey in 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'.
I've just realised that not only is Tablian the only other cast member still alive, but his character, Ahmed, is the only named person to survive the serial. Spooky.
Plus, it doesn't have to be people from the same story or even the same series. Clyde Langer from Sarah Jane Adventures showed up for one of the Pertwee ones!
Those comments on your "Pyramids of Mars" reaction sound so annoying. There's another reactor I'm watching at the moment who is in Series 4 and some comments are already unsubtly hinting at bi-generation and such. And getting a lot of upvotes too. Why do these people watch reaction channels? Why do they feel the need to show off "I saw something before you", like it's an achievement?
That is exactly it, showing off. It's the same with the 'did you hear him mention X monster or planet' like they haven't already been treading through twitter for hours learning about it themselves for the first time. A lot of this stuff people didn't pick up on their first watch, so why would a reactor.
I share your frustrations with winky-face not-very-cryptic comments, especially in this case where they were on an old video, not even just being cryptic under your latest upload. I do think people believe they're super smart and that nobody else could possibly figure out what they're so cleverly referring to, and unfortunately nobody (including me) is as smart as they'd like to be at that stuff. The lack of self-awareness is staggering sometimes, like "oh yeah I've just discussed an entire 1980s Doctor Who storyline but it's not a spoiler because that's 40 years ago" despite knowing that you haven't watched those episodes yet, etc etc. I have nothing constructive to offer on this (although I would totally support you banning people who leave spoilery comments, but that seems like a ton of extra work for you) but either way, just wanted to share in the frustration on that.
I did go back and look at your 'Pyramids of Mars' reaction and it turned out much the same way as it does for a lot of people who see it for the first time. It's directed by Paddy Russell (one of the vanishingly small number of female Directors employed on this show - who also took on stories like 'Invasion of the Dinosaurs') and it's got a very sombre tone that they've made some effort to reproduce in the latest story. They really should have put on 'Oh Mummy' - a comedy skit featuring the voice of Gabriel Woolf talking about the character's career after this story.
I'm guessing you didn't actually see the abridged version of Pyramids of Mars that went with this. Some of the abridging actually helps the pace and the special effects updates are actually quite well done and almost entirely unobtrusive. Of course the complete original unedited one will stand but this was kind of neat in its own right.
Sucks that so many people made some comments about stuff when they don't know if you've been able to watch the epsiode or work out what they mean by a sudden influx to those reactions. Good on you for calling it out, hopefully people actually listen though ❤️
A great episode to introduce the newer fans to a great classic story. Looking forward to your reaction to the final episode, it's been a mixed reaction out there to the finale. I'm not surprised that you are having to address the spoiler issue again. People think they are cryptic and clever, but really not. I even saw spoilers on the recent Kinda reaction.
The re edit for this one was... Not the worst considering editing down 100 minutes give or take opening credits and recap scenes to a 76 minute show including an additional framing scene at each end is a lot of material to cut. While the Puzzles of Horus are a pace killer for part 4, removing so many of them leaves the Eye of Horus imprisoning Sutekh look comically undefended for me, but I think that's my only critique and I think everything else was cut down to the bone so I'm not sure what you'd cut to leave one or two other chambers in place.
i saw some of those comments on your pyramids of mars video and was really hoping they hadn't spoiled the reveal for you. luckily that wasn't the case, but still.
Yeah, I don’t get people making coy comments. I’m currently well behind, still in Jodie eps having just finished Flux. I saw something from official Doctor Who youtube channel revisiting Pyramids and Sutekh, and at first took it as incidental. Then I saw some yt reaction vids with Sutekh’s name in the video title but thumbnails with Ncuti, so, lol 😝
Please watch the full version as the tales of the Tardis version is dumbed down for a newer audience with many scenes are either cut or spliced together very differently then the original was.
Just look at the recent comments in Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" music video. We human beings are not like Time Lords. We don't see how our actions would impact others when we excitedly post a cryptic comment.
I’ve only seen one Reactor who has watched this whole Tales of the Tardis episode. (Blind Wave). They needed it but you don’t except for the new footage. I wish other reactors would do this to learn about the past.
I don't see the point to major spoilers when someone is on a journey of discovery with the show. That applies equally to the 5th Doctor era. We can make general comments around characters, etc, but specifics are always going to be a problem. And considering how wary everybody was about you seeing the title to 'The Three Doctors', it's a bit puzzling.
It's annoying that people have to ruin it as well and want your genuine reaction as not people disrupting that. Like can't people keep it in their head until you react to it so you can discuss it without feeling the FOMO!
Love ur videos and love ur reaction to them, and thank you for making great content. u are fantastic, and u have fantastic content, and I can't wait to see ur new reaction to the last session of doctor who 😊😊

Also, HBO Max (Series 1-13) and BritBox (Season 1-26 + The Movie, An Adventure in Space and Time and two movies starring Peter Cushing)
I wasn't going to yell, I was going to speak very loudly about the DW finale. Can I just say how cool would it have been to see the 11th Doctor and Amy back in the TARDIS? I get why it probably didn't happen, but MAN the fanbase that would come flooding back.
I hated what they did to our classic story "Pyramids of Mars" RTD and Benjamin Cooke needs to keep away from the Classic series the new effects and the added music was terrible and the scenes should had been left as they are.

I’m guessing that was a mock up the set designers made before building the real thing

This is just one reason I'm glad I subscribed to you, because I didn't know they made this bit of the finale into a full Tales of the TARDIS episode.

@@frankshailes3205 For instance: Rose leaves in Doomsday. Someone comments "Aw, goodbye Rose... we'll never see her again 👀😅"

Oh. I was expecting a Pyramids rewatch.
I *hate* it when people say stuff that's not explicitly a spoiler, but clearly does tip off a twist.

Yes, Jess, I know you would have preferred Amy. Alas, the One Who Waits turned out to be mean old Sutekh instead. Can’t win them all.
