- Jenny Doan demonstrates how to make a gorgeous Seeing Spots quilt using the Missouri Star 60 degree triangle template ruler and 2.5 inch strips of precut fabric. I love every new pattern you showcase and I love how you put your Jenny twist to old patterns. You are amazing. I just dont know how I didnt get into quilting much sooner. its so exciting and addicting.
Hi, Eshelle! This is the advantage (or perhaps, blessing?) of having such a team that comes together to make it all happen! We're happy to share a little Missouri Star mojo with you to help you along with your favorite quilts, too! 😁
I love this bright happy quilt. I have added this to my “ to do “ list. With such a looong list of quilts still to make, I am praying that God will let me continue making them when I get to Heaven 😄
I loveryour idea of a quilter making quilts in heaven- quilting is indeed a bit of heaven already!
Every pot has its lid! 👏🏼👏🏼
Granddaughter graduates this Summer 2021..this is the quilt I am making for her. Love the colors.
Watching you cut and my husband cut. I have to remind myself that you both are left handed. The quilt is beautiful.
I love making pillow cases with the extra bits. :)
Loved this new pattern and template/ruler. Ordered mine already. 🤗 Thanks for the tutorial. For all the comments that cant stand Tula fabric, you don't have to use it , use what you love and make it your own. You have a choice. There are lots of options out there. 😎
I love these simple quilt patterns ... Hope you do a play list for the 60 degree triangles ... making it easy for a follower to find those patterns as you make more patterns.
Cute! I had some material with a tiny “nut” (as in nuts & bolts) - this reminds me of it!
Wouldn’t this be great for a mechanic.
Thank you Missouri Star!
Right! Great ideas!
My father is an auto body mechanic. When I was a kid, he used to weld nuts, bolts and screws together in crazy ways for “artwork”. Years later, he bought me a set lamps made with welded nuts and bolts for my first apartment after my divorce. He thought it would make me smile. I bet a quilt with nuts and bolts would be quite amusing! 😂
I can see this being a great gift for a teen (any gender). Such a fun design!
My 19 year old, who is a black/grey/white girl saw my black and kaffe 2020 reds and claimed it right away.
Ooooh love this! Quilt it with some glow in the dark thread and it would give it extra pop!! Love the close up shots overhead of the sewing machine, more of those at the very beginning of Jenny lining up the points would be great!
strikingly beautiful. It's so modern looking in the bright colors but I think would look vintage in soft pastels.
I made this using solid black and kaffe 2020 reds. It came out AMAZING.
Jenny--you LOOK FANTASTIC!!!
With three circles in a row, one could make a cute table runner. I may try that before I tackle a large quilt. LOL! Or maybe a crib quilt to start.
Okay, if you make that table runner, we'd love to see it! 😁
I've been working on three quilts with 60° triangle rows. I have found that pressing the seams open is a real help.
Tula!!!
Such a fun, modern quilt. Great use of a tool. Happy sewing 🧵!
During this stinkin COVID, your videos make me feel.like I'm not so alone. Sharing my coffee with you this morning. Keep up your great work. Thank you.
Absolutely! Thank G-d we can still stay somewhat connected through these videos. And further, that the videos are uplifting!
Great teamwork at MSQC is what makes the magic! Your enthusiasm coupled with the teamwork has such a wonderful side affect that can't help but produce even more creativity! Love how you have not only great guests, but Natalie and Misty presenting spin-offs too. Very happy work environment! Big corporations could learn a lot from all of you! :)
I can see this pattern in so many different fabrics! It is very cool that you can make a complex looking block using 2 strips of fabric! Thank You for sharing how You used the leftover pieces to create the border & the scrappy block from the leftover wedges had my mind going into overdrive ( That would make such a cute child quilt, or a play mat, potholders or...) For all of us fabric lovers (hoarders, LOL) it is always a delight to see how You are going to transform simple strips into something amazing and You do it every week! Thank You. On a side note, Jenny I don't know if You are on a special diet/exercise program but want You to know Im praying that God will meet You where You are and walk with You all the way to victory! God Bless You always
The extra triangles sown into hexies would make cute potholders!
Great idea! Or trivets
I love hexi quilts! And the line work fabric is stunning!
This would be a beautiful two color quilt.
I was thinking the same thing!!!
Yes!
That’s just too gorgeous! The coloured hexis are vibrant. Just love it. And great hint for that first black zigzag border☺️🇦🇺🇦🇺
Looks like fun
Another beautiful quilt and you definitely made it easier than it looks. Thank you
I love seeing Tula Pink's fabric being featured in a tutorial - hopefully there'll be more features in the future!
I love this quilt and I LOVE LOVE LOVE TULA PINK

Long time lover of Missouri Star! Hexis yes!

Oh my gosh.... I can see this in Christmas colors. That's how I'm going to do mine.
OMG this is beyond stunning! The colours, the pattern, everything about it talks to me. Well done on such a stunner. I love everything you do, but every now & again there's something even more extraordinary that really hits home.....this is one of them.😍😍😍

I love this one. Using all the bits makes for such a great looking quilt. It's so gratifying to have no waste. Thank you
This is so cute, u can use some of the left overs for pot holders as well, or a baby quilt...Too cute, Thanks Jenny..
Love the pattern, fabrics and ease of making the block.
I 💕 that iron!
That is so cool tool!!! Jenny, just wanted to say you look good, hope that was because of watching what you eat and not that you were sick.
Love this!!! 😍😍. I already bought my ruler this morning. Thank you.

I ordered the 60° tool and the pattern! Excited.
Very beautiful super gorgeous quilt
Lovely quilt. Great fabrics. Thanks
Fun Fun Fun!!!
This is such a fun quilt!
Oh wow this is beautiful
Jenny, you need to do a tutorial on using the 60 degree template to make a round(ish)/hexagon table topper. Please! 😉
I am finally finishing this gorgeous quilt, and I realize why I got stuck with it. At 10:00 you say that it doesn't matter which way you iron the seams at the back of the squares. It matters SOOO much! I searched the pattern to see if there were any hints on how to sew each hexagon to another, and sure enough, all the seams should have all been pressed to the left! That would have made all the difference. I can't go back and correct that now, but that tiny piece of misinformation caused me many hours of grief, to the point where I didn't want to finish it. Plus, some of my intersections are so thick that I wouldn't even ask a longarmer to tackle it. Hand quilting for this one. Love your tutorials and ask that you please put a note in the video when a mistake is found and put in the written pattern. 💖
Love this I made one it was call merry go round I did my in purple and pink It was so much fun to make.
The scrappy hexes remind me of the old Trivial Pursuit game pieces!
Gorgeous, loves hexies one of my first quilts when I started my journey with fabric...
Thanks Jenny!
I received my ruler today. I am thinking on raiding my big batiks container. I have bright Kaffe prints and some plain batik colors. Have to try this one. Looks like a challenge😄
I just love your quilts. Im hooked. I'm gathering all I need to start onecin the new year .thank you
Absolutely gorgeous! Love those colors, and the design. Thank you for sharing
Lov this Quilt top ❤️
HELLO from South Carolina!

So inspired that I ordered the pattern, ruler and fabric from your Black Friday Sale. Yippee!! Can’t wait to jump in! Thanks for another wonderful video! 🤩
Love the quilt
मैम आप बहुत ही अच्छा समझा ती है मुझे बहुत ही अच्छा लगता है
Love it!
Love your quilt Jenny, so much so I have just ordered the rolls to make it. I love this range and had already bought the Lil Stinker and the pandamonium with the intention of doing something. Up popped your tutorial and I just thought it was perfect for my granddaughter. Just so you know I'm watching from Scotland. X
I love that! Thanks for the great instructions!
I absolutely love this and all your other tutorials!
And it also makes a brilliant scrap quilt.
Orphan wedges incorporated into a pieced backing!
When you are putting the 2 strips together, at the beginning, you said “wrong sides together”. This would be confusing to someone new which is why I’m writing this. Love the tutorials. You got me start quilting.
It is really right sides together. Not wrong sides.
It looks good your new hair color Jenny
What a fun quilt! Love your pots and lids analogy. 😅. Your machine needs a ¼" foot though. 🤔
Jenny, you are looking so great! I was worried for a while there about you...
So clever!
Спасибо, здорово!!! 👍🌹
Love love 💘 love
Beautiful
You could use those extra orphaned hexagons in your backing.
Stunning!! :-) Thank you from Norway
I am sorry - I have NEVER left a thumb down comment but this was THE MOST Willy Nicky tutorial in have ever watched. I LOVE LOVE LOVE all things MSQC but I could NOT deal with this one. I love you all still 🥰
What a fun colorful quilt! I love the black border in-n-out on the sides. Could that be done to the top and bottom too in the same way?
The top and bottom actually come out flat. But when you lay it out, you could replace the partial hexies on the top and bottom row with black. MSQC also has half hexi templates in 5in and 10in. Or you could just cut 4.5in strip and cut triangles and make the black half hexies the same way as the printed. Hope that helps! :)
