Mate I’m a builder and you’ve done some things “wrong” and you sure have taken some unnecessary flak from some commentators, BUT, for the price you paid you have got a great result. Good on you, keep up the good work. You’re happy, you’re family is happy, everyone else can take a walk.

Oh, and regarding nails, dings and scratches: I want character and I feel it has a much more authentic look and feel. Would take this over laminate ANY day.

You took a lot of abuse from the haters, much more than you deserved my man. But the result speaks volumes ("res ipsa loquitur"; the thing speaks for itself). Outstanding!!! Great job all the way around.

Praise the Lord! Thank you for having that (apparently) rare combination of brains and regard for your viewers required to post a follow-up. Well done.

People who speak trash about Plywood flooring have no clue what pre-engineered stuff is made from. I'd say you can get just as good or if not a better product out of plywood if you finish it properly and use the right wood. The stuff you get at the store has a very thin veneer of either wood or a polyboard of some kind along with compressed fiber board stuff. Great job!

You may think others think it is silly but I fully agree with you. The scratches, gouges, little stains etc in an old hardwood floor give you the timeline and the character of the occupants of the house.

I watched all three of your videos and I am impressed at your ingenuity and how you provided your family with lovely flooring at a reasonable price, but what amounted to a great deal of your time. Not everyone would have worked as hard to provide for their family. Kudos to you sir. I am about to tear up carpeting in my bedroom that is no longer viable no matter how many times I steam clean it and I looked at Bamboo 3/4 inch flooring, but the colors they offer do not work with my furniture which was my grandmothers and will never see paint. A lot of people said in the comments just do bamboo dude, without taking into consideration that not all of us want yellow or golden floors that will not work with the antiques inherited and their original finish that is part of the reason that they are so cherished. You have provided me with another option and I especially appreciate the follow-up video; many people who upload DIY videos do not provide us with the information on how well their project turned out under use by a family, especially one with small children and pets. You are indeed a Family Dad.

Scratching and gouging happens with hardwood too.

I bought a house years ago it was 101 years old. The flooring was just like this. I loved it. You have done an amazing job. 👏

I've watched all three videos and I think it looks great. I remember back when I was a kid this is how my Father and I floored our entire house (granted it was 50 some odd years ago but still). Don't pay any attention to the haters, they didn't buy any of it, help you install any of it, and didn't have to live with it either. Good job young man. Kudos to you!!!

I have just moved into a home that we bought off the tax sales and the previous people who where in here 10 years ago painted the floor white. It’s a hassle to peel off so I decided to take room by room and do something. Thank you for sharing this because I will be doing this project!

I put hard wood ply flooring down 22 years ago and its just starting to be beyond clean/repair standards that's with dogs and 3 kids, I don't think i could have found anything else with that longevity

I have just watched all 3 of your plywood plank flooring videos and will bookmark them. We will embark on a total remodel of an old mobile home soon and this is exactly how I want to do the floors throughout. Your videos are so down-to-earth practical and the results are just what we are looking for. Thank you so much for your thorough explanations and practical suggestions. Especially the follow-up which is proof your method provides long-lasting results for the budget-minded do-it-yourselfers!

Love it. My little house was built about 100 years ago and this would fit nicely and is more affordable for me. Thank you!

That's really showed the naysayers! Hardwood faced plywood is pretty cheap in the UK so you'd even be getting a hardwood finish. If it survives kids and dogs then that's a real test it has had.

I like it, I'm getting ready to make 1/4" x 5 1/2" x 6' & 4' planking using maple on one side. Building a 438' sq. ft tiny house, all my kids now have kids so I am on my next phase of life... Living 🤣. I love my children & grandchildren and love when they visit. Now my house is set up for them. God bless, really nice work on those floors 👍🏻.
