Hey Mark. Great video. Thrilled that you had Peter on. First time seeing your channel. Your content looks up my alley so I’m gonna sub since you had my man Peter on. Good luck growing the channel. I’m gonna keep my eye on you 😂 🤙
This came up on my recommended bc I love Boghossian - Unrelated to him, but I just have to say, thank you for your instrumental part in taking down NXIVM! subscribed.
@19:40 it's not a fact. It's your experience. I've had a very different experience. The shunning goes both ways. @32:00 Humility ftw. 🎉 @39:30 ❌️ Blanket statements like this are why people tune people out. @46:45 🎯 @57:15 So which is it? Do we surround ourselves with fellow intellectuals because they'll challenge wrongthink or because they'll join us in our rationalization? I'd argue that the root of our problems is pride, regardless of accumen. @01:05:55 💯👏🏻... @01:06:05 Noooo!! 🤣 Interesting discussion. Thank you, both. ☺️
Once I was confident that I knew the truth. That was comfortable. Now all I know is that the truth is beyond my ability to comprehend. That is also comfortable!
Good interviewer with questions that seemed to genuinely interest PB. I would have liked some inquiry of why he thinks govt debt is the most troubling thing facing humanity. And justification for why Harris and Trump are equally horrific options.
There is so much that a gained from listening to this conversation but rather than that, I want to mention something that seems very matter of fact, that helped me, to help my mind move from “an amydala response to a prefrontal cortex response “ … It was the idea of bringing to consciousness the commonalites you share with a person with whom you have a conflicting theory to explore. Thank you.
The way he quotes Aristotle for virtually everything makes me wonder, he appears to have more faith in the guy than Christians have in their God. He’s no atheist, but a man of Faith.
To reassure you the US, much like the UK and other countries with their own currency and central bank, cannot be forced into default on debt denominated in their own currency. If the interest payments get too hard to manage the government could simply pay off the bonds and not issue new ones. Bonds are issued as a bung to the wealthiest, they are not required; put another way the govt does not have to match deficit spending with bond issues. Now if you want to stop everything going to pot we have to stop using bank credit and stop the banks from creating new money.
@01:08:15 Lmao two minutes ago, dismissing entire groups of people for their lack of intellect. Now, "Why would that be important to anybody?" *sigh* Okay but nailed it right at the end. God bless us. Every one. 😂 #OysterParty
Peterson exhibits so many personality cult tendencies, if not directly then just looking at his fanbase and the rabid defence of him in totality. you're not allowed to dislike him until youve listened to every single one of his thousand-hour monologues with circular reasoning and theistic nonsense. The only way I can endure him is when Sam Harris is firmly steering the converswtion back to reality

I dont really care about how crazy and polarized people are politically... I only know that as a humanist, the bible thumping crowd won't get my vote. And you cant discuss anything with them because they are driven by faith, not facts and data. Not much more to say.

Has Peter Boghossian ever changed his mind or apologized for any mistakes he has made? The interviewer might've asked him that but of course not. He was too busy fawning.
Peter Boghossian is trying to "spark open conversation?" This is a guy who routinely calls his political opponents "mentally ill", "deranged"," delusional." Yup, that's a great way to spark open conversation

Thanks for having me on your show, Mark. I appreciate it.
I’m grateful to Dr Boghossian for reigniting my love for philosophy after college. And also for introducing me to the doctor of bjj Matt Thornton
Interesting conversation guys thank you

Peter is just like the rest of these content creators. They find the one topic that makes the money and they never talk about anything else.
