I feel this crowd was very Canadian and very white middle class. Like they seemed to miss, or not allow themselves to laugh at stuff that would definitely get laughs from most crowds. Like the meeting starting late. It seemed like none of them got it...
duh. Chappell kinda fckd him over though. He never mentions that part of his story... that he also bailed on his close friend, and demanded that he not even finish producing what was already filmed.
@@jennifermcgoldrick6323 I'm German and we've read Huckleberry Finn at school. I'm prerry sure Canadians know about Huckleberry Finn. The crowd just sucked.
No, his audiences now are still mostly white and he gets a much bigger response. It’s the weird JFL audiences, you see it with a bunch of different acts. @@Batchall_Accepted
That set right there shows whty he and Dave are friends and collaborators, he is fearless, and not for the sake of shock but with pure intent. Brilliant!
For everybody asking what's wrong with the crowd, if you watch more clips from just for laughs it's always like that, idk if it's a Canadian thing or what
Might be them just practicing pacing and timing of jokes...a lot of times the comedians on this channel say their thoughts on how the joke went out loud.
THIS is the set that made me love him outside of Dave. The evidence of how go he is is how comfortable he was making this audience that wasn't with him uncomfortable. Irrefutable evidence that he is actually down with us. Bravo.
They must have introduced him as the guy from Chappelle show because the first thing he says is you guys wanted Dave huh? And the audience gives a very disappointed yeah lol!! He still won them over, incredible!!
Ye Olde Fox most people just see people for people and not “white people this black people that” jokes. Plus his overuse of the word was as cringy as when CK did it. It’s probably why it’s not really funny. Chris Rock explained when it’s appropriate anyway so..
Despite being one the main acts this is over 10 years old. He’s been way more public + 3 mics, appearances on daily show, podcasts etc., vs., being the behind the scenes writer
He was genius in this skit. Can he do the same skit in any underground comedy club in any state today in urban neighborhood. ? Chappelle could in the exact opposite with out blinking
Fun fact: Mark Twain's wife did his editing; one of two scenarios Wife: Mark, there are too many N-words.--or-- Wife: There aren't enough N-words, Mark
So there was an SNL segment of Weekend Update not too long ago, and Colin was bombing super hard… the crowd barely cheered for him as he introduced himself but lost their minds for Che… there were almost literal cricket sounds after some of Colin’s punchlines but they went nuts for Che… you could almost see Jost squirm a little. Apparently Che had gone out a few minutes prior to air and got (most of) the crowd to hold their applause just to mess with Colin, and it was glorious Watching this set, I couldn’t help but wonder where Michael Che was because this was not a particularly giving crowd… this wasn’t really Neil’s best set, but even the first half featured a pretty flat crowd
As life continues I've found that I have a bad habit of picking at old scars. Never letting them truly heal. This behaviour has seeped into my daily routine. Now I go back to the main thing that hurts me and for what? I never seem to learn cause the pain has been numbed over countless trials and injuries. Now I cause myself misfortune out of fear for myself. I fear that I may become too much of one thing and it terrifies me. I'm afraid that if I become too successful too well off too outgoing then I will accidentally mess it up. I fear rejection so I close myself off from help. Reject the help before it can hurt me. But when it does hurt. Oh boy when it does hurt I continue too go back to that same pain over and over again bringing myself deeper into the abyss and I can't help but love every minute of it. I've become so enthralled in despair that its become my home. The fear is still there and so is the pain. They make a home in my heart that can never leave and always seems to grow. But I can't complain. Afterall I'm the one who created this. I just wish I could destroy it as well. This endless scenario of loss and regrets.
You can destroy it ! I Believe that you can ! It will take time , but you most certainly can ; pain builds character , let the pain build you up , never fear to fail ; failure is an incident and just like all oruccrences , we need to learn from it ; it does not defines you, push foward and don't think about what could go worse rather than what could go right . Allow yourself to be great , be easy on the person within you , that person deserves love - learn the lessons , move on and look back only when you need to reflect and build more upon the past. These may seem but mere words , and they are , but we all go through pains of varied degrees and experience life with it good and bad - take the opposites as one and learn from anything that happens to you , make the best out of the worst , greatness out of failure , life out of death ...
T Delduca nice job you fucking egocentric dog’s ass... you come here to analyze someone’s 8th grade poetry.. your fingers must be really tired from transcribing all those opinions
I watched a Chappelle sketch in a college class and was the only person out of 20 laughing. I got a bunch of weird looks. It was the Black Time travelers who killed a slave master sketch. The youth is fuct.
Just for laughs crowds never laugh , I mean not just Brennan but every comedian I like and watch and it’s the same , no laughing like they’re funny , I don’t get it
Yeah, great comedian, but that crowd was either really slow or uptight about his jokes. Goes to show you can make some of the people laugh some of the time, but not all the of the people laugh all of the time. Not his night.
Not the right crowd for him
Krusty Bunion Montreal crowd is always trash
Well he's pushing American style jokes not really catering to Montreal
Just for laughs seems to be not the right crowd for anybody, maybe cuz they're Canadian and don't want to interrupt too much with laughter
Louisiana edition of Huckleberry Finn now with 30% more N*%@÷
yeah he definitely seems to work better with the krusty bunion crowd😂😂
that was pretty ballsy and he delivered all of it perfectly
little too slow
One of the most underrated comedians.
satellite964 I LITERALLY just told my gf this 30 secs ago
I think he is very highly rated amongst comedians - he’s in the royalty of comedy - but yeah, hope more people discover him for his own standup
He co-wrote and helped create Chappelle show. Lol. This crowd sucks ass
Seriously. His newest special is incredible.
I just discovered him it’s madness
The crowd SUCKED!!! He Rocked!!!!
Exactly what I thought!
Tbh
audience might not have been mic-ed up properly?
Or maybe Canadian crowds are just not nearly as noisy as USAmerican ones.
when he said "puffy's friend" and no one in the crowd responded, I died laughing
Tackitt I didn't get it, can you elaborate?
essennagerry puffy and biggie were friends and puffy has many times released songs saying that he misses him
Lmao ik! “Do you think puffy misses him?”
I feel this crowd was very Canadian and very white middle class. Like they seemed to miss, or not allow themselves to laugh at stuff that would definitely get laughs from most crowds. Like the meeting starting late. It seemed like none of them got it...
@@synckid Even though, P Diddy, was the only one to gain from the Death of B.I.G.
lame crowd. super lame.
Not a lame crowd. Incompatible material. They were Canadian and he performed jokes that were exclusive to American history and politics. Smh.
I'm British, I got every joke.
Because if he went to the right crowd...he would have gotten beaten up for saying the n word
“You guys have been fantastic”
Lol, this guy is funny.
That was the best joke in the set and he straight faced it
Him and Dave Chappell wrote one of the best sketch comedy shows ever
...if not the best.
duh. Chappell kinda fckd him over though. He never mentions that part of his story... that he also bailed on his close friend, and demanded that he not even finish producing what was already filmed.
Not enough of "us" in the crowd... If he did that same routine at Def Jam or Apollo he'd have slain em!
They were funny jokes too! It sucks that people cant even relax at a comedy show lol like people just chill out and have a laugh
TheBigboy453 it’s the fuckin frenchys. Montreal man
Captain kiwi ahhh didn’t read about the location if it’s posted, but that would explain why they didn’t get the huckleberry Finn jokes
It's because he has a black card! He wrote and helped create Chappelle Show!

a whole crowd of people I don't wanna be friends with
Each and every time he said it, the context was correct.
He deserved so much more love than they gave him, but he’s so confident.

The Pride and Prejudice joke was so good! lame crowd lol
Let it grow, let it grow LOL
He was droppin science on a shit crowd.
Terrible crowd. Neil Brennan is fucking awesome.
“They had a meeting... it started a little late of course” 😂
Did you hear the swish of that one going over their heads?
This guy, Ernie and the Beastie Boys are invited to the Black BBQ.
And Bradley Cooper, no n word pass but he's invited to all black events apparently

Just for Laughs is in Montreal. Maybe too many French speakers in the audience?
They're still mad Hannibal Buress never paid his jaywalking ticket
Not the right crowd. Shame. This is hilarious
THIS is the set that made me love him outside of Dave. The evidence of how go he is is how comfortable he was making this audience that wasn't with him uncomfortable. Irrefutable evidence that he is actually down with us. Bravo.

Montreal crowds always suck
I think they needed to visit a proctologist if you know what I mean
Too white.
He's doing what TJ Miller calls "settling into the bomb". Love Neal tons.
Could you hear the squeak of clinched sphincters from that crowd?… 😆
❤️ You, Neal! 🤜

That crowd sucked balls! They gave Neal nothin'! He was hilarious!
It's always weird knowing this guy was one of the main brains behind Chappelle. LoL kills it though
It started a little bit late of course.... Had to pause that shit I was laughing so hard....
And then he stole my iPod... ROFLMAO
He had to have been calling that crowd "fantastic" out of habit.
They must have introduced him as the guy from Chappelle show because the first thing he says is you guys wanted Dave huh? And the audience gives a very disappointed yeah lol!! He still won them over, incredible!!
Does Puffy miss him? 😂
...I think his jokes would have gotten more laughs if they were from the US. Still, it's like they forgot they were at a comedy club.
