Samela, shout out to YOU! Even as a coach-in-training, your thoughtful and eloquent responses helped me and many others have faith in a recovery process that can feel impossible to navigate and trust. Your work has changed and will change a lot of lives.
Thank you for your heartfelt words! We want to assure you that your comments are seen and deeply appreciated. We're grateful that the message resonated with you and that it's contributing to a meaningful conversation. Your support means a lot, and we're glad it made sense to you. 💙
Hi Jamie,
I'm so happy to hear back from you! Hope everything is well.
Thank you so much for your kind words! They truly mean a lot.
Your way of describing the dynamics of the struggle really stuck with me. And, it gave shape to how I see the phenomena of insomnia from an outsider perspective. So, yes... thank you so much for that!!!
Take good care & keep in touch!!!
Samela gave out such great advice while being a coach-in-training, so happy she's decided to join the team as a full-time coach. I can relate with many aspects of her story. For me the struggle also led to an interest into philosophy of mind and other eastern philosophies, exploring the concepts of surrender and not resisting what is. At some point it turned into an existential inquiry into the nature of consciousness. I also felt intuitively that the 'solution' was supposed to be simple yet was overwhelmed by all the teachings, concepts, and terms of the channel, which at some point made me doubt my simple 'approach' and made me plunge into another speedbump. The Buddhist concept of the Middle Way was very helpful in this regard, not clinging to concepts and extremes but finding a more balanced and mindful lifestyle, following the path of least resistance, which is actually natural and effortless and just means letting your experience flow without unnecessary mental conflict and analysis, doing what brings a sense of lightness in the moment while facing our fears
Hi Alex, it's great you found your way to recovery!
Hi @@VeronikaPepezova, you have played such a big role in my recovery, I will always be grateful for it. And while the brain still comes up with attempts to control the process (currently trying to not do sleep efforts, which is an effort in itself), I feel like it's starting to exhaust itself looking for answers, so I'll just have to be a bit more patient. But I am in a much better place right now compared to a while ago, I sleep fine most of the nights. Thanks again
@@alexcalzoni Ah, so good to hear this Alex. I love my job! :P But of course this is all thanks to your resilience and persistence. You have gone a long way, but you found your peace. Can't wait to hear your recovery story ;)
Hi Alex,
WOW!!! Boy, I am so happy to see your comment. It's amazing to read how things shifted for you. You seem to be out of the woods and have acquired some great understanding along the way. Truly fascinating!
I totally agree with you: it can really become an existential inquiry at a certain point. I love the concept of the middle way when it comes to the transformative power of insomnia.
Thank you so much for your words!!!! I appreciate it!
Thanks@@Samela.I :) wish you all the best coaching
Just got your book , reading it as we speak …. I’m gonna join the school when I’m finished the book , so close to getting back to bed on my own , tapering off the benzos !! I wanna be on your channel Daniel !! I have a story to tell !! You have helped me so much !!
How bad was your insomnia?

Such an articulate woman. She's very inspiring.
Wow she had fear and hyperarousal but was still able to sleep 8 hours. I would take that any day.
Hi Samela,
I am Alexander (also from the Netherlands) first of all thank you for your story🙏 I myself came in contact with Daniels channel dec 2023. Now one year later I learned so as you nicely say al lot about the brain en human mind. I am at the stage dat the ‘ insomnia’ is at the back of my mind.
I would love to booke a session with you to share some experiences and become some wiser troughout your experiences. I hope to recieve a reply from you🙏
Greetings,
From Maastricht
Hi Alexander,
I am so happy you found some value watching this. And thank your kind words.
Right now, I am working on creating my 1:1 coaching system. It is not there yet, but stay tuned cause it is definitely a project awaiting to be finalized.
Thank you again!
Wishing you all the best all the way from Belgium 😊.
My sleep anxiety usually starts getting worse at 6pm onwards and by time it gets to 9-10pm its so high I can't feel sleepy, this has been going for 5 years straight now. I get to sleep usually aroun 11-11:30pm after passing out watching tv. But I just wake up soon after from incredibly intense long dreams and can;t get back to sleep. I feel horrendous all day and no matter what I can;t take my mind off sleep. It has crippled my entire life now.
Same here I’m going through the exact same thing 😢 can’t fall sleep for hours and once I’m finally asleep , I wake up after 2 hours. My brain starts spiralling about the connection between sleep and hormonal imbalances and cortisol regulation. I don’t ever feel sleepy anymore cause my anxiety & hyperarousal is that high and prevents me from sleeping and feeling tired and sleepy. I’m running on pure adrenaline from last June and it’s crippling me too😢
Start to observe yourself. Notice at first of all that it is all happening out of yourself. The brain is doing it al. The hyperarousal, anxiety trying to fix it.
Go to bed and know the hyperarousal is coming. Everytime is is the sAme all over again. This knowing that it is day after day week after week and month after month there is the same thing happening ( hyperarousal) stops slowlybthe hyperarousal.
In my experience the hyperarousal fades slowly by staying with this knowing that every night the hyperarousal comes up without if you do or dont do anything about it.
Keep going on and adapt the teachings and keep up the inner work🙏
Hi. is it possible to book a coaching session? thank you
You lost at me at sleeping 8-9 hrs at night w.o trouble 😢
Hang in there Paige, rooting for you. If not the rest of this video, hopefully you’ll find the teaching that leads to where you want to be
Hello , I wanted to ask about a book “set it and forget it “. I would like to buy it as a online version. Is it possible ? Thanks in advance
Hello, the book 'Set It and Forget It' is available on Amazon. You can purchase it online there. Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@thesleepcoachschool8192 thanks , I already bought it .
I wanted to say that your channel is very great finding for me . I had been having this sleeping issue for a while and did such a huge research by myself . Honestly, I tried many things , from as top 10 google or AI advices to meds .
But yeah , it was not working properly without changing the mind set.
I ve got many insights watching your videos , your approach is something new and unique.
So I want to dive into this topic more deeply so I will be able to help more people too.
Since many people in my country have this kind of problem - sleep disorders due to missiles and alerts 😢
I wanted to say thank you ,I am really grateful for your work.
Some things are so simple and complicated same time .
Maybe you can recommend best videos to improve the detachment ?
Big Thanks
