Best of Oregon: Young River Falls

The waterfall along Young River 10 miles south of Astoria was first seen by Europeans during Vancouver’s expedition and then again 14 years later when members of Lewis and Clark’s Corps of Discover came across it while wintering at Fort Clatsop. The pool at the base of the 54 foot waterfall is a swimming hole during the summer months.
