I was at Pica’s yesterday. I have been at Pica’s for the past 55 years. I love all great pizza but the fact that you could not process the taste or the experience is a testament to Pica’s greatness and uniqueness. Also, while I am typically a pizza purist with no toppings, Pica’s is a place where the pepperoni is clearly better than cheese only. This is because the pep is sliced extremely thin, is under the sauce and does not contribute excessive grease. If you had known to order Pica’s “well done”, you would have likely given it an 8.5. Pica’s really isn’t pizza. It is something else. Pica’s should be eaten with a knife and fork inside at the table. If Pica’s is brought home in the box. Your oven should be at 350f. You put the box the paper, everything in the preheated oven. You resist the temptation to remove the box. The pizza is not ready until you smell the box beginning to burn. No sooner. This is Delco. It’s different. I can understand the immediate association with Santucci’s. That was a good catch. Both are great but completely unique flavor experiences.

My first bite of my slice made me go to google and this video came up. Very funny and on point. This pizza is bomb! The best I’ve had in Philly Oh and I live about 7 minutes away from Pica’s in West Philly. Not 45 minutes away ☺️

Right across from darby creek flood zone central too. Alot of the 5 0 are really azzholes out there. And all the people in Ridley ( Ridley girls) are a stone throw away from real run down Chester...it's a hot n cold area really.some small areas are nice, but they are not known as a pizza mecca...Philly is packed with pizza joints, as you already know Dave....😎✌️😎✌️♥️🇺🇸

I grew up in DelCO, Broomall. Couldn't afford to go to the games but later on in life I sat in the 700 level for a RedSkins game.
The last time I was this early the pizza 🍕 was still in the oven.

Haven’t had Pica’s since forever ago when I was just a kid(‘99). To this day I remember it as THE BEST pizza, another good eats was the clam tavern. All time best steak sandwich: Jim’s
