      Thank you so much Susan! I do use the same or similar tools for both mediums and a lot of the same techniques. I enjoy both mediums very much!!🎨

    Love the demo and the finished piece. I, too, would have stopped halfway through. I learned a lot from the two videos.

    This demonstrated the importance of layering and having the courage to build upon the previous work.

    Thank you for sharing Lisa. The painting is gorgeous. I would have stopped half way thru and been satisfied, how do you have the courage to keep changing it?

      Heather, I so appreciate your comment! There are usually several places in each painting that one could stop and say it is finished! I enjoy experimenting and seeing what might happen if I change something or add something else to it! I always know- if I don't like something, I can "Just add another layer"!! Thanks for tuning in!!

      @@LisaBBoardwine Dear Lisa, thanks for your excellent work.
      Do you decide your palette at the beginning?
      Do you start painting with the end result in mind?
      Thanks,

    • @LisaBBoardwine
      @LisaBBoardwine  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you very much! And thanks for watching my channel! Sometimes I do decide on a palette first, but other times I put out colors that I enjoy and choose randomly. I almost never begin with an end result in mind. I am typically a very intuitive painter.

    Hi Lisa another truly beautiful piece by you! Is your white colour titanium white or gesso and is it slightly diluted with water it looks like it might be when you put it on the canvas? It’s such a dreamy wispy white I’m intrigued!!??

    • @LisaBBoardwine
      @LisaBBoardwine  5 років тому

      Debs, Thank you very much!! The white is a titanium and was getting mixed with some of the other color so it was slightly tinted in places! And it was diluted with water. Many thanks for tuning in!!!

    LOVE! Lisa, can you please provide links for your brushes? Also, what sort of palette ?paper ?tray? are you using with this amount of acrylic paint? And finally, what brand of paints are you using? Thanks big time!! :)

    • @LisaBBoardwine
      @LisaBBoardwine  4 роки тому

      Micki, I use several different brushes when I am painting. If I am remembering correctly -(this was about 8 months ago and I am constantly changing and trying out new brushes!) I believe i used a Princeton Artist Brush Redline, A signet Robert Simmons 40B #12 bright, and maybe a Polar Flo. I use freezer paper most of the time for my acrylic palette. I use Golden paints mostly- but also some Matisse, Lucas, Nova, and Charvin. You are very welcome!!!
      ~You can find most of what I use on my Amazon Storefront - These are under the collection of Favorite Acrylic/Mixed Media Supplies.

    Hi Lisa. A question; do you varnish your acrylic paintings? If so, what do you use? Thanks.

    • @LisaBBoardwine
      @LisaBBoardwine  4 роки тому +1

      Bob, I do varnish my acrylic works. I usually use the Golden Varnishes. It is best to do an isolation coat before varnishing. I usually then use a mixture of 1/2 gloss varnish, 1/4 matte varnish and 1/4 water. Mix well, Let sit til bubbles disappear before varnishing. It makes your color sing!!!

    Hi do you let each layer dry before putting on another color?

    • @LisaBBoardwine
      @LisaBBoardwine  4 роки тому

      Margo, In my acrylics, since they dry fairly fast, I usually paint straight through. If I am stopping to let certain layers dry I will say that in the video so you will know. I do sometimes stop and return to the painting the next day, and it will dry overnight, to restart the continuation of the painting. Thank you for watching!!

    I have never seen you use a paint brush before! Glad to know that will work.. I really love the colors in this...what marking tool did you use in the end? Also, do you ever varnish these with Gamvar? Thank you..

    • @LisaBBoardwine
      @LisaBBoardwine  4 роки тому +1

      Connie, In this video-- I am using Acrylic paint on Canvas, and using paintbrushes. In my Oil/cold wax paintings I don't use brushes very often, but occasionally for certain techniques. Also on my oil/cold wax paintings, I do sometimes use GamVar or Clear Cold Wax. But I more often leave the majority of my paintings with no varnish however. Thanks for watching!!
