You saved Shaman for me this expansion. I’ve been a healer for 17 years and Shaman has been either my main or primary alt during that time. Healing hasn’t vibed with me in the current game design and I wanted to give enhance a go, because I love the class fantasy. But man, the button bloat and all the abilities on recommended builds with insane priority lists had me disinterested. I tried your build out all afternoon and am having a blast, while dishing out mad damage! Thanks for helping save my Shaman! ⚡️
Same. :) I just specced my 15 years old resto shaman to enhancement, she has 410 GS now. Probably not my best idea to change my 444 lock for the shaman, but hey, STORMSTRIKE! Being like Thor is worth it, right? Lemme think if I got this right: ST: Stormstrike on CD, wolves, sundering and doom wind on cd, build maelstrom weapon through everything thats free, spend it to chaon lightning, press stormstrike, pray for more stormstrike, press stormstrike again. I used to watch guides over and over and all the abilities sounded like fun but I was really confused and overwhelmed standing in front of a training dummie, pressing one key and all of my monitor was filled with proccs I had never seen before. 😂 Thanks for the videos, enhancement is much easier to understand now.
This is the awesomest build for my tiny brain. The cost of my mistakes in Elementalist and Storm+Firenova build are much bigger than losing out on some theoretical gains that only pro players and simbots can utilise. Love you *zaps away*

Both storm cleave and elementalist builds works great for M+, storm is easier, elementalist is better when you're pushing really high keys! i'm currently rocking stormc leave for anything up to +20, prob elementalist if i try to push higher!

Hey Stankie. Question: Isn't elementalist build still better for M+ than Storm build ? For ST storm works but from what I have seen by testing myself and looking at other players, Elementalist AOE build is still better for M+ than Storm. Main reason being that M+ does not have long enough encounters for the Ascendance proc to be viable while Primordial Wave is not based on RNG and it has short CD. What is your take on that?
Short Answer: Elementalist is still better but Storm build is not far behind. Long answer: I know I'm not Stankie but I think it depends on what you want to accomplish. The potential of damage on the storm cleave is higher than the Elementalist build. I know how much damage I'm going to be able to do on my Elementalist whenever I burst, but with the storm build it's RNG based and could be very good, or very meh. The way I look at it is; If you want consistency, then go for Elementalist, if you like the idea of higher potential damage but sacrifice consistency, then go storm build. But also keep in mind that with the tier set bonus, chain lightning is going to become way stronger + the thorium's invocation damage should be pretty competitive with the elemental build. Another fun aspect is the 20% chance of refunding your full maelstrom when using lightning bolt/chain lightning. Happens pretty often and I usually have it proc 2-3 times in a row for crazy damage and have an absurd amount of feral spirits uptime. I don't even have the tier set yet. The storm build is much more fun for me, It's fun to get the Ascendance proc which from my testing happens every 45-60 seconds (almost every other pull). If you're super lucky and get the proc right after using Doomwinds it's a crazy amount of damage. However, there are downsides too. The downtime in between waiting on Doomwinds cooldown and not having an ascendance proc feels bad and is worse when you actually run out of buttons to press and have 3-4 seconds where you legitimately don't have buttons to press. But that doesn't happen too often to me, maybe once every other dungeon. when I play Elementalist I feel like I'm going through a checklist and having to manually swap targets for lashing flames which makes the gameplay stale for me personally. You really can't go wrong playing either build, but I still think Elementalist might be better for M+ just for that consistency.

My Stormstrike macro also includes my trinket (because it's up often), my racial (because I hate holding it for optimal usage), and my Potion (same reason). So I have 5 actions built into every Stormstrike; it makes life so much better. /cast [@player] Totemic Projection /use Dragonfire Bomb Dispenser /cast Berserking /use Elemental Potion of Ultimate Power /cast Stormstrike Edited for accuracy

This is probably a dumb question, but does anyone have any advice or link to the left talent tree? I'm coming back to wow as an old enhancement main and I'm not sure what to use. Seeing builds using earth shield instead of lightening so I'm confused lol
Hi Stankie, thanks for this build, looks nice and easy. I have some points I noticed in this video. First, why do include lava lash into AoE rotation if it is not in your talent build? Second thing, I am not sure about the opener as the second and third step of AoE rotation doesnt make sense to me. You dont have 10 stacks of maelstrom at start and if so, is it mandatory to have chain lightning with 10MW at start of the fight? I would prefer to build 10MW chains for buff from sundering. But thanks for this video as such, helped me a lot to improve my performance!
The lavalash part is simply an oversight on my part! As for the Aoe priority it's just shows you what you should press IF you have everything available (including 10 maelstrom) So it's not that you should start with 10MW but when you have 10MW IT becomes the highest prio to cast after feral spirit, hope that makes sense. Opener on aoe would be Feral spirit >Doom winds > sundering >Crash lightning>CL>Stormstrike>CL>Crash could change a bit with proccs like if your CL refunds ALL maelstrom, then you'd press that instead of stormstrike and then crash after again.
why not take that fire area with fire nova? I know you said it doesn't proc windfury but isn't it more damage? edit: i guess that's the doom nova build. What are the benefits of this build over that one?
Hey stankie, switched from lock to shaman this patch after 10 years of playing the purple tank. I have a question you might have the answer for: How come ele shamans and enh shamans are not bitching in every forum possible about their talents and rotations? Like... both specs are incredible and by far the most versatile and fun of all the dps specs, BUT they both have extremely annoying things that could be solved pretty easily and the quality of life change would be huge. I.e the target swapping and lava lash in elementalist or the icefury+elemental blast VERY slow casts in elemental that every old shaman player complains about ( i dont mind it but i suppose a faster rotation in the past has been more engaging). There are other things but i dont want to make this too long
think it's cause atleast for enhancement alot of us don't mind the rotation as such, only issue i have really is elementalist having to low maelstrom generation currently so the rotation feels sluggish on ST and storm should get an extra charge of stormstrike which would allow us to actually spend maelstrom rather then only spending when SS doesn't reset!

Fire nova is just terrible in single target and we already generate enough maelstrom in AOE that it isn't needed (as well as being pretty much GCD capped). Similar story in single target where we swapped lava lash for ice strike as our main filler to get storm's wrath (more windfury and SS resets) and stormblast (SS damage amp on reset). The old build is too much AOE at the cost of single target damage.
What do you recommend out of all the builds for m+ and multi target raid bosses? ive been running storm full aoe but it feels weaker than elementalist but a lot simpler to play
If you look at highest timed keys. Enh Shaman pros are using mostly elemental but you’ll also see this version of the build thrown in here and there making it in the top 5. This is 100% viable for sure but maybe not as consistent. Lots of bosses have increased dmg windows too so maybe that ability to pick n choose when to send burst is more of a priority. Fun build either way
Like Jimmy said, both are viable but elementalist will pull ahead in some situations and they have "better" DMG pattern for M+ then storm since they're able to funnel alot of dmg into big mobs + do aoe where as storm mostly only does either well (bit of funnel ofc but not as much as elementalist) I play both builds in raids and m+, swapping around depending on bosses/dungeons!
I have one question: on how many targets do you use chain lightning over lightning bolt? Is it in every situation where u have over 1 target? Or when u have 2 targets u still use lighting bolt? Plus i dont know if anybody has the answer to this yet but do u know if the storm builds are doing better than the elementalist builds? Or is elementalist just kind of a Jack of all trades but master of none and storm better un pure single target and high count aoe?
I believe 2 targets but if there's a prio target even in AoE funneling is good. I heard storm and elementalist build are soooo close. But if you don't have 4 set you just run last seasons build until you get it
@@Gonzspartano I have simmed multiple builds pretty extensively, and honestly Elementalist builds always pulls ahead in aoe/cleave, and is only slightly behind in st compared to storm builds. Regarding your questions to when we CL, we always cl on 2 targets and above, on st with the 4set buff running
@@Guldfisken90 TLDR elementalist should win on aoe/cleave unless you're doing really really big pulls, however Elementalist has better funnel dmg & requires alot more effort to do crazy dmg compared to this which in itself can be a DPS gain!
@@StankieGaming That i do agree on, there's been times where i dropped dps because i either had a brainfart and started to press abilities i shouldn't press in that order or just fat fingering, in that scenario storm cleave def would pull ahead regarding both simplicity and overall easy of play on most packs "simplicty is nearly always good"
I you videos have helped me out so much Thank you . I do have a question on the AOE rotation do you use any flame strike/Frost strike's? i ask cuz when i run hekillie or herorotation they are coming up woth them when i use aoe
Make sure hekili is set to auto so it swaps between aoe/ST prio However i do use those on on aoe IF i can't stormstrike/crash lightning or spend maelstrom then i ice strike/frost/flameshock to fill out globals

This is the build I started running last week and it's the tits. I want a weak aura that will track my DRE proc % so I can "manage" and don't accidently get those procs at the end of packs
Hello, I've read all comment and didn't see anyone asking the question. In the priority, if we follow it step by step, even if we proc ascendance we should spend 10 maelstrom on chain lightning. Is it really the case ? I feel like this should go down the list since spending those 10 maeltrom will most likely make your next windstrike not proc the chain lightning thus loosing a global. Isn't it beter to just windstrike above spending maelstrom ? I'd even argue crash lightning should be above spending aswell in aoe

I love the idea of this build but the goofy ascendance animation made me give up - I would give anything for Blizz to glyph that old Cataclysm model away.
I'm running this build and it's super fun .. but i have 2 questions: - What is totemic projection used for? - I read that with this build is better more critical than mastery .. haste>critical>mastery or, capping 30%haste and the going for critical .. is that wrong?
Totemic projection is an ability that allows you to move your totems, so by forexample macroing it into stormstrike like in the video, as i move around on boss fights/packs, my wf totem just follow me around rather then needing to pop a new one all the time! Never heard of that stat prio so i doubt it! If you want 100% accurate info on biggest upgrade for your shaman, use raidbots droptimizer and sim it!
I’ve played this build without Ice Strike, and replace it with feral lunge for extra mobility! Its fun and the filler gaps don’t feel too different. But if the fights are stationary you can’t go wrong with Ice strike.
Do you worry about flame shock at all apart from the opner? There's ni lava lash to spread so i assume you don't use it. Also what weapon imbues do you use? Ive been using wf on MH ofc and howling runes on OH
with this i only flameshock on ST and refresh if there's nothing else to press! Currently WF and FT, haven't simmed which is better, but i need FT to procc my broodkeeper ring!
Stankie, is this build still good with the new 4p? Even w/o 4p or old 4p I'm pumping with this build at 430 ilvl. I would imagine the new 4p will still amplify it even if not using fire spells?
Hey, I'm new to enhancement. I was told that storm was the easiest build for beginners to pick up. I already found the ST storm build on your channel, but now I'm confused. You mentioned Doom Nova as being the new storm M+ build and this one as well. Which one of the two would you recommend? Or which one should I use in which situation?
When i made the doom nova that was the Storm m+ build but as of late this build has started being used alot and perform very well in m+ I would recommend this build! Doom nova with 4p is better on bigger pulls, but requires, big pulls constantly so might be something we switch over to at some point!
Can anybody help explain how the macro works please? Never really used macros before and I am a lil confused... I entered it as Stankie put it in the vid but my windfury totem doesnt move...it just casts a stormstrike...
I'm very used to the AoE Elementalist build, but i have only 1 piece of the new tier set (4 pieces of the S1 tier set). Should i be using this build instead or stick with the Primordial wave + lava lash?
Both works! I'm currently using old4p and this build and it performs super well! Also old 4p is actually giga broken for storm builds, they love the haste.
this build is different than what word up has on wowhead in that build they say to take the lava lash talents and fire nova. is your build recommended over that one?
I belive wowhead just isn't updated for that one yet, it is however part of the recommended build in the Enh discord and posted by wordup there! TLDR i recommend this over fire nova currently!
the more haste you're able to get (and mastery) the better it's gonbna perform on ST since we wanna spam stormstrike constantly, getting mroe haste/mastery means more resets and more SS spam!"
i really like to play my shaman, but it feels rather inconsistant in daamge. in some pulls in the raid, on slimes ex. i do 300k next pack 150.. evne though i do the same rotation. can do some ST damage, but feels like mid pack most often. 65k with a 422 ilvl. i dont know man..
10x maelstrom CL will still hit harder then tornado button CL since it only spends 5 maelstrom! So do press CL at 10 stacks, however it's not a huge diff, and it's fine to just spam tornado button!
I have an issue with this built. Dont get me wrong..i love it...but im dying way to much. I am for some reason taking aggro from the tanks. Its nerve wrecking.

In addition to the totemic projection macro if you have Bomb Dispenser add it to the same macro, really helps

The benefits are more ST DMG, fire nova build does more aoe dmg overall IF you do really big pulls, but ti does alot less STDMG!

Fire nova is just terrible in single target and we already generate enough maelstrom in AOE that it isn't needed (as well as being pretty much GCD capped). Similar story in single target where we swapped lava lash for ice strike as our main filler to get storm's wrath (more windfury and SS resets) and stormblast (SS damage amp on reset). The old build is too much AOE at the cost of single target damage.

What do you recommend out of all the builds for m+ and multi target raid bosses? ive been running storm full aoe but it feels weaker than elementalist but a lot simpler to play
If you look at highest timed keys. Enh Shaman pros are using mostly elemental but you’ll also see this version of the build thrown in here and there making it in the top 5. This is 100% viable for sure but maybe not as consistent. Lots of bosses have increased dmg windows too so maybe that ability to pick n choose when to send burst is more of a priority. Fun build either way
Like Jimmy said, both are viable but elementalist will pull ahead in some situations and they have "better" DMG pattern for M+ then storm since they're able to funnel alot of dmg into big mobs + do aoe
where as storm mostly only does either well (bit of funnel ofc but not as much as elementalist)
I play both builds in raids and m+, swapping around depending on bosses/dungeons!
I have one question: on how many targets do you use chain lightning over lightning bolt? Is it in every situation where u have over 1 target? Or when u have 2 targets u still use lighting bolt? Plus i dont know if anybody has the answer to this yet but do u know if the storm builds are doing better than the elementalist builds? Or is elementalist just kind of a Jack of all trades but master of none and storm better un pure single target and high count aoe?
I believe 2 targets but if there's a prio target even in AoE funneling is good. I heard storm and elementalist build are soooo close. But if you don't have 4 set you just run last seasons build until you get it
@@Gonzspartano I have simmed multiple builds pretty extensively, and honestly Elementalist builds always pulls ahead in aoe/cleave, and is only slightly behind in st compared to storm builds.
Regarding your questions to when we CL, we always cl on 2 targets and above, on st with the 4set buff running
@@Guldfisken90 TLDR elementalist should win on aoe/cleave unless you're doing really really big pulls, however Elementalist has better funnel dmg & requires alot more effort to do crazy dmg compared to this which in itself can be a DPS gain!
@@StankieGaming That i do agree on, there's been times where i dropped dps because i either had a brainfart and started to press abilities i shouldn't press in that order or just fat fingering, in that scenario storm cleave def would pull ahead regarding both simplicity and overall easy of play on most packs "simplicty is nearly always good"
I you videos have helped me out so much Thank you . I do have a question on the AOE rotation do you use any flame strike/Frost strike's? i ask cuz when i run hekillie or herorotation they are coming up woth them when i use aoe
Make sure hekili is set to auto so it swaps between aoe/ST prio
However i do use those on on aoe IF i can't stormstrike/crash lightning or spend maelstrom then i ice strike/frost/flameshock to fill out globals

Hello, I've read all comment and didn't see anyone asking the question. In the priority, if we follow it step by step, even if we proc ascendance we should spend 10 maelstrom on chain lightning. Is it really the case ? I feel like this should go down the list since spending those 10 maeltrom will most likely make your next windstrike not proc the chain lightning thus loosing a global. Isn't it beter to just windstrike above spending maelstrom ? I'd even argue crash lightning should be above spending aswell in aoe
So for AOEshould we not be stormstiking in the doom wind-ow then? Like only use the windfury generating abilities instead?

I love the idea of this build but the goofy ascendance animation made me give up - I would give anything for Blizz to glyph that old Cataclysm model away.

I'm running this build and it's super fun .. but i have 2 questions:
- What is totemic projection used for?
- I read that with this build is better more critical than mastery .. haste>critical>mastery or, capping 30%haste and the going for critical .. is that wrong?
Totemic projection is an ability that allows you to move your totems, so by forexample macroing it into stormstrike like in the video, as i move around on boss fights/packs, my wf totem just follow me around rather then needing to pop a new one all the time!
Never heard of that stat prio so i doubt it!
If you want 100% accurate info on biggest upgrade for your shaman, use raidbots droptimizer and sim it!

I’ve played this build without Ice Strike, and replace it with feral lunge for extra mobility! Its fun and the filler gaps don’t feel too different. But if the fights are stationary you can’t go wrong with Ice strike.
For sure a play and feral lunge is awesome (wtb it in class tree)

Do you worry about flame shock at all apart from the opner? There's ni lava lash to spread so i assume you don't use it. Also what weapon imbues do you use? Ive been using wf on MH ofc and howling runes on OH
with this i only flameshock on ST and refresh if there's nothing else to press!
Currently WF and FT, haven't simmed which is better, but i need FT to procc my broodkeeper ring!

@@Temptfate they changed talents so you always have to use flametongue and wind fury unless you want to deal 5% less dmg

I have and it does, altho for mythic i feel like elementalist wins, the frostshock slaps are to good since there's only 3-6 mobs up most of the time!

maybe noob question but wouldnt you want to use sundering first then doom winds since sundering buff lasts 15 seconds and doom winds only lasts 8?
it's mostly cause sundering proccs WF on everything you hit it with when doomwinds is up!
Stankie, is this build still good with the new 4p? Even w/o 4p or old 4p I'm pumping with this build at 430 ilvl. I would imagine the new 4p will still amplify it even if not using fire spells?
Oh yea the new 4p is giga good for this, the empowered chainlightnings slap and the 24% mastery does alot aswell!
Hey, I'm new to enhancement. I was told that storm was the easiest build for beginners to pick up. I already found the ST storm build on your channel, but now I'm confused. You mentioned Doom Nova as being the new storm M+ build and this one as well. Which one of the two would you recommend? Or which one should I use in which situation?
When i made the doom nova that was the Storm m+ build but as of late this build has started being used alot and perform very well in m+
I would recommend this build!
Doom nova with 4p is better on bigger pulls, but requires, big pulls constantly so might be something we switch over to at some point!

I'm very used to the AoE Elementalist build, but i have only 1 piece of the new tier set (4 pieces of the S1 tier set). Should i be using this build instead or stick with the Primordial wave + lava lash?
Both works! I'm currently using old4p and this build and it performs super well!
Also old 4p is actually giga broken for storm builds, they love the haste.

I belive wowhead just isn't updated for that one yet, it is however part of the recommended build in the Enh discord and posted by wordup there!

i dont know if im missing something but you have lava lash in the rotation but you dont take it in the talents.

Don't we lose damage from tier set since we don't get any of the fire talents? Seems smoother than fire nova build tho.
Doesn't greatly impact this overall, we get a ton from the physical buff and the 24%master and the dmg increased Chain lightnings!

i really like to play my shaman, but it feels rather inconsistant in daamge. in some pulls in the raid, on slimes ex. i do 300k next pack 150.. evne though i do the same rotation. can do some ST damage, but feels like mid pack most often. 65k with a 422 ilvl. i dont know man..

10x maelstrom CL will still hit harder then tornado button CL since it only spends 5 maelstrom!
So do press CL at 10 stacks, however it's not a huge diff, and it's fine to just spam tornado button!

This build only wokrs with insane amount of haste, the old tier set is BiS for this one

Elementalist is still hella good, this is just an alternative that's alot simpler and offers great ST !
I have an issue with this built. Dont get me wrong..i love it...but im dying way to much. I am for some reason taking aggro from the tanks. Its nerve wrecking.
