Great honest review. Great playing on demo too. 🤘
Thank you Andy! :)
Thanks for the review, Anthony! Nitpicking on the "cons", though. These Les Paul Custom Prophecy Plus guitars are amazing instruments with very unique modifications, while still maintaining a classic look. Zero complaints about the one I own~ and I've played on many a Gibson. The Prophecy rocks! 😎
I like that you're working and supporting indie music stores 😊
Absolutely! Small music stores need our help too. :)
Wow 24 fret Les Paul😲
thanks! I'm looking at these now vs the LP 60's tribute.
got it! thanks!
To help Les Pauls stay in tune, I use this trick. I always tune just above pitch and then stretch the string until it drops back in to the right pitch. Basically never loosen the string with tuning knob, tune above pitch and stretch string, if it drops too low, tune up and recheck. This method works great for me. also nut sauce or using a pencil to add graphite in the nut helps prevent strings binding and slipping. But a set of locking tuners and you are set.
I’ll have to give that a shot! :) Thank you for providing these remedies with Les Pauls. I still have my epiphone LP custom pro and would love to try these methods you recommended me. What locking tuners do you recommend for Les Pauls? 🎸🤔
Also consider buying roller saddles/bridge to prevent string breakage
I considered one of those. There’s another prophecy model with 24 frets and emgs, but went with the Ltd ec-1000 and I love it. I’m sure the prophecy is a great guitar too.
It still is good for sure, but for the money and package I’d honestly say the ec1000 is a lot better too. I agree! A lot more shred friendly too imo
Dude I have a 2011 with the dirty fingers 2 knobs and blade inlays an still 24 frets.to me it's the best guitars they ever made ..I've toured the U.S with it and all I had to change is the nut ..and if u like higher out put u have to try the 2008/2012 the dirty fingers range from 15.5/and 16.3 ish.mine actually has 16.08 in the bridge and 15.72 in the neck..only one I played that wasn't 15.58 /15.65..i did change the tuners to locking..and yes it's the g string...lol I almost forgot I changed those as I had locking 2 days after I got it for a great to mint shape 2008/2012. Go for 900/1200 dollars I have seen some sell for 1300. Idk mine was with the 750 I paid for it a whole back.its still my work horse after touring with it for yrs I Kno teach rock and metal guitar with it and it's still reliable..
Very helpful review! There’s on of these at my local music shop for 550 bucks
Oh Thanks man! Im happy to hear this review helped you out! 😁🎸
It became very irritating to hear newbies saying Les Paul doesn't stay in tune. Newbies, It is not because it's an LP so it doesn't stay in tune. If your guitar doesn't stay in tune, meaning something's wrong with the nut, or bridge or the tuners, not because it is LP. I have ibanez, fender, and schecter. Sometimes they're out of tune too. Get what i mean?
Of course. The way a guitar is setup has a huge effect on the tuning stability same with the headstock design in some cases. :)
New strings (I prefer PRS), installed in the "Joe Walsh" method (find on youtube), any* guitar will stay in tune... even a 12-string.
Agree.. i had a yamaha once (gift from a friend) and a strats. Both of the guitars doesnt stay in tune and after a help from a friends father, both guitars sounded great.
My friend late father also had a les paul and i never runs out of tune.
Unfortunately my friend sold the guitar for his college expenses after his father died.
This was 20 years back when i was 20.
I’ve got the same guitar, in same colour and year. I consider it a wonderful guitar, made with accuracy and with a great sound. The neck is comfortable and 24 frets helps in a lot of situations. Cheers from Italy.
Buongiorno 😁 That’s awesome! Super Happy for you! Greetings from the US. My ancestry comes from Italy so it’s very cool to witness you checking out the content. A presto 👍
@@AnthonyDiFiglioOfficial Italians are everywhere 🤣 Seeing your surname I imagined it. You've got a good Channel. New subscriber. Stay metal!
@@AnthonyDiFiglioOfficialLittle add...on my channel you can find this guitar on the cover of "What a Wonderful World" by Joey Ramone.
@@lunarisalpha indeed! A lot of them are definitely in America 😂. I appreciate the kind words and support! Thanks so much! I returned the favor by subbing to you as well! I’ll be sure to check out your content too. 💯👍🔥
@@AnthonyDiFiglioOfficial you right! Lot in USA 😬 Thank you very much for your kind. See you on UA-cam.
My dream).
I always have tuning issues with lp epiphones
Hey man, what is inside cavity, PCB or just normal wiring with push pull knobs? :D
Sorry for late response I didnt get notified. From what I remember, I didnt check to unscrew the cavity so I couldn't say if it was just PCB or Push pull knobs. :(
Whats the price? Nd should it buy?
Guys How much was it's new price ?
I couldn't find the price of it at sweetwater now these days
I think it was $700-800 brand new but I believe this model has been discontinued.
Does this guitar suit Metal/Heavy metal genre?
It can do it, but I’d say you’re better off with a charvel or fender HM Strat for the 80s style. :)
I like the Color..But I don't like the Gold Color on the Hardware.🤙
To each their own my friend! Thanks for watching!
no cons with mine
24 fret Les Paul feel illegal to me
Why always are very few les pauls with 24 frets 😭 damn it "tradition".
Exactly my thoughts. We need les pauls with 24 SS frets and in 7 string configuration as an option. That’d be amazing if they could just pull it off and do it. 👍💯
@@AnthonyDiFiglioOfficial I'm I'm 100% with you, dude. Why does Gibson almost never want to put at least 24 frets on it? If they did that, they will gain a lot of new clients and stay updated.
@@LuisCarlos-oo9im exactly my thoughts. I get tradition is important but They would certainly move on with modern specs and have a better evolution if they upped their QC more too. Tbh, I prefer Epiphone’s higher end stuff to Gibson’s lower end guitars. Epiphone has honestly evolved more than Gibson and they’re better than they were 10 years ago lol.
@@AnthonyDiFiglioOfficial Exactly dude, what I'm thinking (And a lot of guitarists too) is that Gibson aren't aiming for being a good guitar brand, they're aiming for be the "Apple" of the guitar world, selling life style status merch. Look at PRS, they have all the tradition in the veins but also they have really updated guitar models. And about the QC, well that's a really yikes for a brand with the fame for sealing juniors, faded and even epiphone guitar at the price of a standard or even a custom, that re-force my idea for what they ain't a guitar brand anymore, they're an Apple wannabe now.
