    In this video I will take you though every step and every tool you need to make any size window screen you need. We needed some HUGE screens to complete our screened in porch and I was able to make these screen frames from wood, use a screen tight system and a 84" wide roll of insect screen to make these massive screens for hardly any money at all.

    Doing it like this is genius. When me and a friend did my porch we did it on the outside. What a mistake! This makes SO much more sense!

    We did the same idea for a knee wall but used translucent polycarbonate panels and added LED lights between the panels the whole length and width of our 24'x 10' deck. The whole wall lights up on both inside and outside with the lights on. Thanks for the idea it worked great. wish i could post a pic.

    Pro tip: PVC pipe cutters will go through the trim stuff like butter. Good for working in the field without having to lug around a saw.

    Why not use a washer head screw for attaching those black plastic tracks to the frame? It would have less risk of it blowing through when driving the screws or tearing through over time. I like to use GRK’s cabinet screws 👌

    • @dougprentice1363
      @dougprentice1363 3 роки тому

      David, I'm getting ready to install upper cabinets. What type of screw do you use for fastening face frame of cabinets? I've seen people use drywall screws. That doesn't seem right. I bought Grk #8 trim screws. The thread seems too course for hard word face frames.

    • @davidgulbransen6801
      @davidgulbransen6801 3 роки тому +2

      @@dougprentice1363 I haven’t made any cabinets with hardwood face frames, so I wouldn’t have a very relevant opinion…I do know for hardwoods, in general, people tend to like finer threads, predrilling, or a combination of the two.

      Lowes carries Lath screws made by Teks that are perfect for projects like this. Ive used them for vinyl J channel where you dont want the plastic to pucker up like it did when he put that wood screw at the end of the screen channel.
