Welcome to the Grand Final of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest live from the Globe Arena in Stockholm.
Tonight 26 nations from Europe and beyond will compete to win the grand price, and the right to host the next edition.
The show will be hosted by Petra Mede, who also hosted the contest in 2013 in Malmö, and Måns Zelmerlöw, who won the competition last year with his song Heroes for Sweden.
Special guests appearing in the show include Justin Timberlake, Alexander Rybak and Lordi

2016 is STILL the best Eurovision in terms of the opening theme and parade of flags. The Swedes really know how to host a partyyyyyyyy!

We all know how great Petra was as a host in 2013 & 2016. Last night Sweden (and Loreen) won again. No matter where in Sweden Eurovision goes in 2024, whether it's Malmö, Stockholm, Gothenburg or any other place, I think it's a must that we see her again!

Without any doubt, the best Eurovision ever. The production of the entire show it's just amazing.
Well its in top 3. 2015 and 2019 is something. I personaly vote for 2015, we see whole point of eurovision. But more fun is on 2016. But production on 2019 is really more unique...

Petra and Måns tottally outperformed Justin Timberlake with that middle act. No one even names him in the comments. I watched the entire show again, 2021. Still one of the best, if not THE best Eurovision final ever.

Sadly the only bad point in my opinion was the lack of originality in many of the songs that year, the most important aspect in Eurovision obviously.. But absolutely, the hosts, the organization/production, opening, Justin Timberlake, Love Love Peace Peace, the exciting voting sequence.. entertainment from start to finish, never get tired of watching the 2016 final

What an incredible year!! My hair stands on end every time I watch Dami Im’s performance for Australia - what an absolutely incredible voice!!! How she managed to belt like that from sitting down I’ll never understand and then to get down and deliver that unbelievable ending with all the vocal flourishes that weren’t on the studio cut, it’s just one of the most mesmerising performances I’ve ever seen. I’m so sad she didn’t win honestly, I was heartbroken for a while on the night, but Jamala is a very worthy winner! She also had an incredible song and a wonderful vocal performance.

@@garrywallace1007 they're not comedians, in esc 2016, måns and petra had some funny jokes which made it more entertaining, in esc 2019, they hosted it formal, so two countries did a great job, btw merry christmas!
Hopefully, people will stop moaning about 2023 soon so we can start looking forward to this level of production in 2024 🎉

This is probably the most well executed, planned and composed Eurovision contest. The event song choices, set design, lights, presentation of hosts, everything about it so well organized. Not one dull or awkward pauses. Well done Sweden, until next time its back there! I don't know how any other countries can top them off (hosting the contest wise).
I even enjoyed Måns' song Fire in the rain, usually I don't care about last year's new songs performed (like Jamala last year)

I discovered eurovision at 2016. And what can I say, I was so lucky to discover the contest that year because THE SONGS, PRODUCTIONS, EVERYTHING was so great!!!! The staging, performances, they’re all so memorable and I still rewatch 2016 every year!

You can say, "Sweden made a great show" Or, "Sweden put on a great show." And one can say, "Sweden did a great show!"
But "did" lends itself to being a figure of speech.
It's more abstract. "Made" is more tangible.
Therefore, there is a difference in meaning between "Sweden made a great show" and "Sweden did a great show".
As for to 'make' a job: no way can that work as a figure of speech!

Descendants of europeans of sort, still way better song than the one which won. Oh and messed up voting is the deal too. The comitee should either make this an entertaiment show and let people vote or a professional contest and hire professional jury other than retarted "country representative" system and mixing afterwards

Everyone's writing about the best ESC in history. They couldn't be more right - it was marvellous. And to realise that Ukraine - my home country - won it with the song that has it all - good vibe, history behind it, powerful voice and performance - that's for ages.
To be fair, our this year's representatives - Go_A - can be considered the same stars of the contest as Ruslana and Jamala are. Yes, they haven't won in 2021 - but the prominence they've got is their biggest achievement imo.

Прошло 7 лет, а я до сих пор считаю это Евровидение самым крутым и интересным в плане организации. Швеция умеет делать шоу, этого у них не отнять. the best Eurovision in terms of the opening theme and parade of flags. The Swedes really know how to host a party. The production of the entire show it's just amazing.

I have been watching ESC since 2015 and even in 2023 2016 still remains as my favourite ESC edition! And that makes me so but SO excited for next years ESC which will be also held in Sweden! Hoping for such an epic ESC as this one in 2024 ❤

This has to be one of the best Eurovisions of all time! The opening, the stage, interval acts, the hosts were amazing! And almost all songs this year was great! Just a freaking awesome show!

przez występ Michała w tegorocznej Eurowizji widać wyraźnie jak to wszystko funkcjonuje...kto mądry z pewnością wyciągnie wnioski...głosy jurorów i ta cała kompromitująca punktacja (zresztą tak naprawdę głosy niczyje, bo ich głosy to igła w stogu siana - porównując do liczby oddanych głosów przez telewidzów) wyraźnie pokazała, że taki "pseudo konkurs" nie powinien mieć racji bytu. Brawo Michał, nie tylko za to, że piosenka ma niebywały tekst i profesjonalne wykonanie, ale przede wszystkim za to, że Twoja osoba ośmieszyła cały ten światek Eurowizji!!! Sukces Michała w każdym calu !!! :)

Teraz tego nie rozumiem ale niestety muszę to powiedzieć. Cytuję ,, Jurorzy dali Michałowi tylko 7 punktów oceniając nie występ końcowy tylko występ tzn. jurorski. Michał zafalszowal końcówkę piosenki i jurorzy dali mu najniższe noty.". Może się to wydawać logiczne ale ja i tak nadal uznaje jury za głupie gowno. Mimo wszystko Michałowi powinni dac wyższe noty. #jebacjury
Z tego co wiem jury głosuje przed finałem, więc ciężko byłoby im zauważyć fałsz(chyba że zrobił to samo na próbie)

& now in 2019, Sweden won the jury vote and Norway won the public vote but the Netherlands won the whole competition.
