The 2 ton model is actually cheaper. You don't get it because it lifts more, you get it because the frame is stronger and it reaches further, safety first
@@prancstaman well that's your call but if they offer me an acura for a cheaper price than a honda, obviously I'm gonna get that. Why you would pass on something better for a cheaper price is beyond my comprehension, but whatever
I bought this at Harbor Freight with a coupon. Cheaper then the 2 ton even without a coupon. And the 2 ton wasn't worth the extra money. I did the comparison right. Thanks for watching...
It actually almost did flip over going forward, that was because I extended the boon's hook past the front wheels when I first picked up the tank. Luckily I jumped on the back and dropped the boon before it flipped over forward. Live and learn I guess. Thanks for watching.
ace crusader Theory is based on heavy crane equipment. I have faith in the setup, but I most likely never have anything that heavy to lift. I think the most I will ever lift will be 1000 lbs, 1/2 ton, with it. Which will be a 360 V8 with transmission and transfer case while all together. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
ace crusader Not the same setup. The boon on my setup is only there to hold it out, the chain is holding all the weight. I've seen the setups on beds of trucks, the boon is still holding the line out but is supported underneath with triangulation support so the base can pivot onto the truck bed while the boon is taking the weight also. Mounting points on bed is the weak area. Yes, very scary setup. I will say my setup is tippy because of the feet but the base is more built for weight because it doesn't have to pivot, it moves on wheels. There are pros and cons for any setup. Just need to know how to use them. All part of rigging.
So why not just get the 2 ton and not go through the bullshit and exspence anyway,, don't make a dam bit if sense,,,and it's unprofessional and ugly as hell...
The 2 ton costs way more to buy and was only like 6 more inches longer on the lifting arm. Not worth it for the extra $90. I don't care how it looks either. This 1 ton is all I will be needing, I'll never have anything weighing more then 1 ton to lift. Thanks for watching.

I conpared frames , same thickness in tubing, just a wee bit longer in certain spots.
