Thank you so much for your informative two-part series on this subject. I am building my first RV super sleeper from a Star trans, rigged for HD Towing with an enclosed car hauler. I have the same white Fiat 500. And can't wait to install a tow bar for quick chase-car hookup when I am not using the trailer.
I really appreciate all the details. Thank you

What size are the ‘attachment tabs’ I bought a blue ox tow bar system and am buying a fiat 500c with a blue ox base plate already is
Installed. There are no attachment tabs included..

I am guessing that you are talking about the removable aluminum connection tabs that come with the baseplate. These can probable be ordered separately from Blue OX (blueox.com), or maybe you can find a couple on eBay. They are all standard size for the Blue Ox baseplates.

What supplemental braking system did You use?

I did not use one with this Fiat, because it is 2,200 lbs. In Pennsylvania and the roads that I travel South, supplemental braking is only required for vehicles weighing 2,500 lbs or more. Towing and stopping has not been a problem. In a heavier vehicle I would have added it which only requires 1 additional wire, I believe. But these units are an additional @$1,000.
