A University whose origins are older than most think. Has had strong links with the local heavy industries since the 1950's and has turned out many fine academics in engineering and scielce disciplines that worked in those industries.
Loved my year at UOW in 2018-2019. Beautiful campus (doesn't look like it's changed much since), friendly people, and really quality educators. Does this mean there's no chance of an updated QUT review? All good if not - such a great series!

Hi! Sorry to be slow replying, this was a really good question so I wanted to think about it. In my view, I think regional universities where there's a closer link between community and the university will tick this box better. There's a long list: Wollongong, Newcastle, Charles Sturt, Southern Cross, CQ Uni, James Cook, Darwin, Tasmania, Federation Uni. I don't want to recommend a specific one because that really depends on your other interests and preferences.
The UOW Is pathetic. Their admissions team takes weeks to do anything, and response times to inquiries are even worse. Don't waste your time with this university.
Sorry to hear your experience with enquiries and admission have been problematic. Just pointing out that this is only one part of the experience, so viewers/readers might want to consider your comment in the context of the overall experience they are expecting from a uni.
Does anyone know if you can complete your bachelors degree in their main campus in Wollongong? or is it limited to the Sutherland campus only? (According to the internet) Would appreciate clarification!
If you had to choose between University of Wollongong and University of Newcastle (Callaghan), which one would you choose? Course is Bachelors of Computer Science as an international student.
I'm literally 50/50 on that question. I spent a lot of time in Newcastle when I was younger, so I have a soft spot for it. So personally, that's where I'd go. But Wollongong is equally great tbh
smaller uni also means less diversity (more fascists), smaller campus, uglier and older facilities. social life is dry as. lowkey my eyes hurt its so ugly. thanks for the super positive video tho, hopefully i can convert

Which degree? If you start a degree on the main campus you should be able to finish the whole thing there.

Not for everyone. Not sure about the fascist count on Oz unis, it’s not one of the metrics I look at
