Hi Janie, I bought everything I needed to make St. Patty’s day bandadas. I got so confused before I even started focusing on the he measuring that I quit. Today I thought I’m not going to be defeated & went back to utube. THANK goodness I clicked on ur tutorial. You are theee best one on here. The way u explained each step, your nice voice and the fact that you move it along. I do hate being bored. Just get to the facts. I again thank you for that. I subscribed and will continue to watch. Now I’m going to begin the right way & follow your measurements which u made so easy to understand. My trip to Joann was awesome. They have everything & nice helpful employees at the Brookfield, WI. Store.
Thank you for your kind words. I'm so happy this was helpful for you. I have even made these for my husband because he was hearing impaired and his hearing aides would get in the way of face masks that go over the ear....also these were easy to keep around his neck so he didn't forget a face mask in the truck. So....multi-purpose.....dogs AND humans. I am a beginner at sewing and these were the third thing I leaned how to make. The others are face masks and hair scrunchies 😊 Thanks for stopping by 🤗 Hugs....Janie
Thank you! I was looking to buy these on Etsy, but for two bandanas, it would cost me more than the Kam Snaps tool! So I just bought the tool and am going to make as many bandanas as I want Love your energy also. Thanks so much.
Glad I could help! They are fun and easy to make.....cheaper then buying.....and you will feel good knowing that YOU made them. Thanks for stopping by 😊💗🤗 Hugs....Janie
Forgot to say: I have and use CAM snaps; they are so easy and so practical. Great idea to use them on the dog bandana (rather than typing). I didn't know about Heat + Bond. Good tip!
I heard that CAM snaps are safer for the doggy bandanas because if they get hooked on something it's easier and faster to unsnap than it is to try to untie one. I'm glad I was able to introduce you to Heat n Bond. Thanks for stopping by 😊 Hugs....Janie
Thanks so much! 😊 I am enjoying having easy sewing projects so I can finally use the awesome sewing machine my hubby got me a couple years ago. Last Christmas all the girls got scrunchies, and this year all the dogs get bandanas....LOL :) Hugs....Janie
Thank you so much! I'm happy you like it and hope you enjoy making some bandana's for your pups. LOL my husband had me make one for him too :) Hugs....Janie
Thank you so much for this video! I took your measurements and was able to create a formula that would allow you to decide on the square size that you would need for the length that you want. The formula is "x/length that you want around dog's neck = 0.70." I needed a final length of 28" so x/28=0.70. That gave me 19". That means I need a square that is 19" by 19". I hope this helps someone.
Thank you for your very creative mathmatical equation 😊 I'm sure it will be helpful those that possibly did not like my measurement instructions. I guess we all have our own way of doing things.. Thanks for stopping by 😊
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate you subscribing and hope you find more things on my channel that interest you. So far I have only done a few sewing projects.......these bandanas, scrunchies, and a few variations on face masks/coverings. I'm a beginner when it comes to sewing and have just been doing a few simple things. I have a really cute cell phone purse that doesn't require any sewing 😊 I do a variety of crafts as you will discover scrolling through my videos. So hopefully you will find more. Thank you for stopping by.....I really appreciate you 🤗 Hugs....Janie
I will be totally making one of these my daughter purchased her first dog. Will be following this video👍🏻. I think the bandana looks so cute on dogs❤️❤️. Thanks for sharing🙏🏻 P.S. Thanks Zack and Zoey for showing mom’s creation. You both look so cool🥰
Thank you so much......from me and Zaq and Zoey!!! I'm a beginner at sewing.....like a REAL BEGINNER.....and these are so easy and I have so much fun making them. Your daughter's dog will definitely be styling. In the pictures I have the bandana hanging down the front, but I actually like it on their backs instead. Either way they are so cute. Oh and you can get what they call "Fat Quarters" at Walmart or Joann's and they are the perfect size for making a dog bandana and matching face mask for their human (I have that video too).....hee hee hee :) Hugs....Janie
Oh I love this!! Yes snaps would make these so much easier, especially since our digs don't wear collars (the ones I've seen go though the collars). I may have to try this! Thank you ❤
Hi Tracie 😊 These are easy to make......I'm a total beginner at sewing and only know how to make 3 things and this is one of them LOL 😂😊🤗 Hugs....Janie
Good morning Kimo.....thanks for stopping by. The person I learned this from preferred the ease of snaps instead of tying and untying.....especially in an emergency situation she had. Either way I think it should be put on loose enough to pull over the head. But I do like the snaps. Definitely a nice fashion statement for our fur babies :) Hugs....Janie
I really really like you! ♥️ your voice is so calm and happy. Thank you for doing this tutorial. Can’t wait to do them for my dog. Do you also make double sided ones?
Thank you so much! I appreciate your sweet comment 💗 Sorry to say this is the only bandana I know how to make. I am a beginner. But you can use both sides as it doesn't matter which way you wear it. I know how to make 3 things.....hair scrunchies, face masks (3 different styles), and these bandanas. I need to learn more. I hope you enjoy making bandanas for your fur babies......or even for yourself. Thanks for stopping by 😊 Hugs....Janie
Thank you so much. As my video says, I'm a beginner, and I don't know anything about types of stitches. I guess I would call it a regular stitch. It's just the stitch that comes up automatically when I turn on my machine. My machine has hundreds of stitches but I have not experimented yet. Sorry I'm not more helpful. Good luck with your business 😊

Janie, you did a very professional job on all three. Loved seeing your four-legged pals doing the modelling. 😊

I forgot to add that you would need to factor in seam allowance.

Loved the video. Super helpful! I’m 12 and working on a sewing business for dogs. What kind of stitching did you use,
On the sewing machine?

@@janiethecraftprincess thank you! And no worries my grandma sews so I can ask her!

I guess you should have watched the video :)
