Send some unmanned Starships ahead as stated, but then you might have to wait until NASA develops a nuclear tug before sending humans.

First of all, nobody has ever been to Mars. So NASA is not in a rush to send people to Mars. I was in the Navy. Deployed on an aircraft carrier to the Indian Ocean for 3 months and to the Persian Gulf for 3 months. All you can see is water. So count me out for a year in space.

    It will never happen.

Yup.. Starship is going to be a massive failure for SpaceX. Trying to land a 15 story building on the Moon or Mars is ridiculous. Orbital refueling may be possible but it's not efficient or practical - requiring 10 to 16 launches for a single deep space mission - it's operational and logistic complexity that NASA doesn't want. Catching Super Heavy boosters will require the lightest winds at the time of launch, resulting in many scrubbed launches. Then you will have ground equipment failures and flight equipment failures - rapid reuse is a fantasy. Finally, Starship has nothing to save the crew if the launch vehicle fails. NASA will never put Astronauts on a Starship to/from the surface of the Earth.

None of this makes sense. If they can land on earth then it will be much simpler to land on the moon. You're wilding out my dude
