Man....this really bring back memories. My dad absolutely loved Zelda. He wouldn't play them, but loved sitting in my room for hours helping me with the puzzles and gave tips on how to beat the bosses. Thank you for this!
He *doesn't* pick the best songs. He's just that good. A lot of average songs sound good by him, and some good songs sound even better. Personally, IF I knew how to replace music files in Minecraft, I'd put his Wet Hands cover in with the rest of the chill music and terrifying cave noises.

As a songwriter and arranger, his content has always drawn me in. I really would love to see/learn a bit more about how this god of a man actually puts all of this together.
[The following is my thoughts and opinions, you are welcome to disagree and have your own veiw point.] As someone who first beat Zelda 1 then Zelda 2... Link to the past was good. Links Awakening has always been my favorite even though it is linier. It has the better overall sound track, and had many of the firsts for the franchise. There are some good and devious puzzels in LttP, but overall I don't think the puzzels are always introduced correctly, relying heavily on trial and error to learn how to solve them. *(not like this wasn't the case in Zelda 1) I do think OoT is the better game between them. Even if the "hint system" owl/sheik starts off by just telling you to go somewhere for half of the game. overall it's a better game to revisit.

@@pokemon1895 Not too sure about that; I played LttP first, in late 2013 - I asked for an SNES for my 13th birthday, and that was one of two games that came with it (the other being a repro of Earthbound - didn't trigger the antipiracy or anything, so a good repro). I played it, completed it, and loved it, and it's my comfort game these days. I got Majora a few years later - still haven't finished it - and Ocarina later still - haven't gotten past Jabu-Jabu's belly. Those last two just... don't quite do it for me. I think it might be when I played them all, versus when I was born, and what I think of their respective systems, since the SNES is my favourite, tied with the PS1; but the N64, while I respect it, doesn't appeal to me in the same way. The strange thing is, I grew up with the N64 from single digit-ages, but not the SNES - my older brother had a PS1 that he threw out before my 10th, and which he only played sports games on, which I was never interested in. But then, I got hold of one myself as a teen, and... I fell head-over-heels for the thing. So if anything, I'd say it's more related to the formative years, and possibly internet idolisation, seeing as people online always showered the SNES and PS1 with praise - during that time, I was first active online. tl;dr: I don't think it's generational, I think it's a little more nuanced.
27 years old and I completely agree. A link to the Past was my very first videogame, back when I got a GBA on my 6th birthday. Still to this day my absolute favourite videogame of all time. The music and visuals are still so nostalgic for me.

Played this game SO many times growing up. Hyrule Castle was always my favorite dungeon. It seemed the deeper you got into the dungeon, the darker it got.

Hey! It is around the same age I actually replayed it from my childhood in order to beat it! Played for the first time at the age of 7. This game should be enjoyed by all no matter what age! It is super difficult, but it makes the ending totally worth seeing. Currently, I am 29 in the middle of my playthrough (4th crystal out of 7). Have a great day, man!

everyone has their opinion about it, i probably used to think Twilight Princess was objectively better than The Wind Waker at some point but i ended up enjoying both a lot and realize that you can't be objective on which game is more enjoyable for people Some people love motion controls and end up loving Skyward Sword Some prefer realistic looking games and like Twilight Princess Some like sidescrollers and like zelda 2 or people who like top down gameplay like most main 2d zelda games

Maybe it's a generational thing, but I much prefer its pseudo sequel ALBW. I love all Zelda games tho. Except maybe TP, that one's just ok.
