I lived in Roma in 1957 and 1958 I remember the steps of the Colluseum worn down toward the center a few inches from millions of feet for hundreds of years
Very sad that most of the greatest buildings in ancient rome were dismantled, but it's remains ruins tell us what they once were in their golden age. Good Video and also I like your reconstruction of ancient roman buildings.
Some of them has to be rebuild. We owe this to the history of mankind! Especially the Theatre of Pompey. The floor plan is still there and the houses built on it are not special. So this is really a candidate.
To my mind, the progression to what we see today is as fascinating as the evolution of the original ancient city. Much of the archeological work of recent years has been dedicated to revealing the ‘lost’ history of Rome from the years following its demise as a political power center up to the modern era. Cool stuff, all the way around.
long time ago, when I visited Rome, I’ve been in Piazza Navona. Lately I saw a UA-cam video showing the nowadays square full of people enjoying life. I never imagined that once there was the Stadium of Domitian. Thank you for this info and for this video that gives desire to travel back in time and live in ancient Rome
Wow!. This was AMAZING 🤩!!! Such details--the plants, the wind blowing the plants!, the colors, even into the farthest background areas. Really enjoyable!!. You guys are great!. LOVE 💖 your channel!!!!.
@@historyin3d Yes,...and real replicas like Frauenkirche in Dresden. Exactly the same materials, functions and using old craftman's technologies... In the latter case you would regain some abilities we lost on the way. (as happened in Dresden)
This channel and the work your have and are doing reconstructing Rome so we can daydream through it is amazing. This channel is straight up amazing. Amazing.
I love to see the ancient look of my city, Thank you. my mom and dad met at Piazza Navona as kids playing in the fountains, their/my families lived around there. Via della Palomba and Vicolo delle Vacche.
Yes in general, but it was ancient Greek and Roman idea to construct theatres and stadiums in the way to make awailable for spectators to leave the cavea in 10-20 min. Mainly thanks to rational spread of 'vomitoria' and similar.
I live in a town that was mostly built in the 1950s and after. I often consider how interesting it must be to live in an ancient city like Rome, but I rarely think about the fact that it’s a burden too. Things survive long enough and then everyone begins to feel it’s imperative that fhey continue surviving forever. A living breathing city can’t be run like a museum. They require constant renewal. Balancing that with preserving ancient ruins must be challenging.
I was there first time myself last year and just returned from a 2nd trip only 6 months later. Visited all 4 of the holy gate churches during the Jubilee. Simply amazing!
It's a pity, of course, that you abandoned the idea of saying the text out loud. The project is very interesting and made with a lot of love. It's always interesting to watch you. Thank you very much for what you are doing.
@@cat_da_vinci I will return to voiceover, I but have to work and practice with it more. I abandoned just AI narration since youtube and other social networks don’t ‘like’ it.
Such lost glory. Thank you.

yes, I've seen such steps as well...
@historyin3d I went back many years later, and the steps were made level with bricks. It looked out of place.
A great deal of ancient Roma exists below the streets and buildings.
yes, that's true.
OVTSTANDING!
Thank you!

@@MMijdus Seriously, no. People are living there, and there is still much about the lost buildings we do not know.

Rome should reconstruct 2 or 3 of these buildings, especially where current areas are not covered by buildings today.

Must have been chaotic when 10.000 , 20.000 or even more people want to leave a show at the same time. Those tiny roads would have been packed.

Beautiful rendering as always. Thankyou! Hope to one day see a reconstruction of one of my favourites, the almighty Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus.
You can notice it at the very end of this video, under the final text :) Relatively soon I'll make the separate video about this great temple as well!
These renderings are beautiful art.
Thank you.
I once dreamt vividly ancient Rome walking in the midst of marble monuments. It was 😍

“Odeon” not “odeum”. Odeon is an ancient greek word. We can see an odeon in Pompei ruins
Both names are eligible.
