@@Wolfpack345 Please, if you decide to not cut the traveling, at least put in timestamps. If I had the time to watch the whole thing, traveling included, I would just play the damn game myself :P
Just watched this and the episode before it, then I immediately went to get the tanks expansion for IL-2. This looks like a lot of fun, exactly what I've always dreamed of for a tank game/sim.
You want to actually follow the tank tread marks of the leading tanks while in column, this had 2 benefits 1st is that you make a clear pathway through any mine fields as only the lead tank is at risk, 2nd it packs the ground and so makes it a harder surface so as not to sink into looser and softer soils.
Not to forget the benefit that enemy recon can't figure out the amount or type of armour that moved through if one sticks to driving in the tracks! (Perhaps not sooo relevant in the game though🤔😃)
When gonig downhill, shift a gear or two down. Let your gearbox do the breaking. Do not take your foot completely off the accelerator. If the tracks are not powered any more and one slows down faster than the other you will do a 180.
Actually in this Episode, if you move quickly to the bottom of the slope after sweeping the village, you can ambush the tigers from the sides when they are rushing down the steep slope. They don't have the angel to shoot at you on the top and they are too heavy to stop in the middle. So, they are moving ducks on the slope before they reach to the bottom. If they do reach to the bottom untouched, you are doomed.
That's hilly terrain? Where I come from you are on the plains man. Just kidding Wolfpack. I do enjoy your U-Boat videos that I thought I would take a gander at your land warfare offerings. Fantastic.
Side on to those Tanks was your best position and your best chance of stopping one, running just opened you up to an easy kill, your rear has little armour.
ooops lol your firing HE at a tiger hahahaha if only the ammo indicator was not at the bottom of the screen and so small...could happen to me to be fair...btw great series not seen tank crew much but jeez they really did a good job with the interior, i personally don`t mind watching travelling
Haven't finished watching the video, but I saw your trouble with the hill in the first 5 minutes and it reminded me of something I've learned in some games that also transitions to real life to some extent. If your going up or down a hill or incline that is giving you trouble, try going up/down it diagonally instead if the terrain looks steady enough, this will increase the length at which your traveling but effectively drastically reduce that actual angle at which your going making easier for your character, vehicle or even self to manage it. This is something I figured out in Arma 3 I think? Maybe earlier than that, but I've found it works for just about any game with a decent enough physics engine in both humanoid, tracked and wheeled characters/vehicles from Arma 3, to Planetside 2 to Warthunder and I think even Mechwarrior online.
And having watched the video...damn, 4 or more tigers in the second mission, that's harsh. Can't at all blame ya for continuing that sense I don't see how you were supposed to survive something like that without getting lucky sense they were getting close.
When going down those steep hills, best to limit the drivers max gear, 3rd would probably have been best on that first hill. I've managed to roll over, more then once sadly.
I would suggest that if you see anything heavier then a Panzer 4 try to avoid engagement if possible. Tanks like the Tiger are a pain to kill so its best to avoid them entirely if possible.
second mission it looks like its either a platoon or atleast a company of tanks on the move, while the first mission could have been battalion Strength I guess here.
I prefer seeing more than just the battles: it makes that I am looking at a story rather than just combat. It is great to imagine the commander on his way to the village looking up and observing a dogfight develop in the sky above and thinking about it, a great functionality that IL2 offers and that gives much more depth. If I just want to see combat, I'll watch lp's from World of Tanks (which I don't).
Next time pay a closer look at the ammo. You miss a good (maybe the only) chance to hit that Tiger pn his side armor. And a tip, dont rely too much on the T34 armor, its really bad and your best ally is mobility at least :v (And the optics are really bad man, hard to drive in the middle of a attack)
What varient of the t34 are you playing?, i think it is the 1942 varient but im not sure. Also in the t34 angle your hull front to a 30-40 degree angle. It will make your armour much thicker
"I didn't do much because I was a bit scared" Wouldn't make that joke too close to your company commander or he might have you shot or sent to the gulag for treason against the union. Or worse. Sent to a penal battalion.
I;m deciding whether to buy Tank Crew or not: are there any tutorials that teach you how to play the game? Also, is this campaign part of the game or did you buy/download it elsewhere? THANK YOU.

Its not on steam yet (it will be when its fully finished) but you can get it from the official IL2 Sturmovik website, when it does come to steam and you want to buy from there, then you'll need the base game "il2 battle of stalingrad" because steam acts like thats the base game and treats other modules as dlc, but you can buy all the modules and tank crew separate from the website.
hard to see what's going on when you're trying to be the gunner in sniper view, just saying. Many tankers preferred to go with an open hatch just for the visibility.
Unfortunately how he did it was how the Russians operated tanks for much of the war. Otto Carius describes it well in his excellent memoir “Tigers in the Mud”.
