1st SS LAH was the centre of the German line in the Prokharovka sector with 3rd SS (Totenkopf) on their left and 2nd SS (Das Reich) on their right. There are some good documentaries on here about the fighting in this area. With the size of Operation Citadel many people break it down at least to northern and souther fronts. As a case study it’s all very interesting!
Would love to see a little commander customisation, like a few of them had berets from older units, some even had homemade "Soft Caps", or the pudding bowl helmets.Or if you get banged up and back in the tank quickly you have a few loops of banged on the arm or around your head, and if you had a bad day an Eye patch
When playing the good old '46 and played a shit ton of il-2 campaigns, i was thinking how terrifying it must look for the germans down there Turns out, very much lol As he spotted them, it was rather creepy seeing them close in
Please gamedevelopers. Stop making the commander standing full torso like he is paradeing alexander platz 1938. Its combat and only his eyes are above the cupola edge.
I'd love the option for an open protected position. I remember H&G (at least when I played it which was quite a long time ago now), you could hold the crouch key when open hatch to go open protected, be it just eyes over, partially having the hatch open, or using the hatch as cover. I'd love to see it here as there are so many times I'd like to be open, but the risk from artillery fire, aircraft, or automatic weapons don't allow it because you stand at full height. In a slightly similar manner, some armored shutters should be able to to various degrees which would also be great to have instead of full open and fully exposed to fire or full closed and blind.
Battalion: "Abort, return to the positions near the sovkhoz immediately!" Wolfpack: "That's disappointing, we'll move up and see maybe I can take some pot shots..." Hitler in the bunker: "Das war ein BEFEHL!"
Sorry if this has already been posted in subsequent videos, I don't see it here so Ill put it here: the 'kho' in Russian sounds a lot like 'ha' with a harsh H. For example khorosho which means something along the lines of good or well done would sound like harasho and Prokhorovka sounds like Proharovka. Good videos, I'd like to play but the price is a little much for me to be honest so I'll enjoy it vicariously. I like the lengths they've gone to for realism like having tanks having their guns and turrets locked when not actively engaging a target. The commander acts as if he is on parade still instead of standing at eyeball defilade though which is a bit off putting but I suppose its a concession to gameplay to give you a better field of view.
Nice video. The developers still have to change things about the sound. The machine guns sound absolutely ridiculous. Reminds me more of a children's toy than a machine gun
How is the commander supposed to see what's around him if he had the 20mm turret in his face though, it also makes for an obvious target that increases the height and weight of the tank as well. Where are you going to store the 20mm rounds in the turret by the way? Regardless, the job of the commander is to command his tank and not be distracted by looking up the air trying to shoot planes. They had AA detachments for that job. Also saves the additional gunnery training for the commander.
Hey, sorry to bother you Wolf, but what difficulty settings do you use in SHIII? Originally I had played on 3% realism, just for memes, but I was curious about what you use. Now that I'm familiar with the game I want to get a bit more realistic. Great vid as always btw!
Travel lock. The vertical travel lock for the Panzer III and IV consists of a long bar on the turret roof that connects down low towards the rear of the breech. With that, the gun has to be elevated quite a bit to attach it to the breech. Would be nice to have a command to be able to tell your crew and those under your command to unlock turrets, close hatches, close most of the armored ports and be ready for battle.
I like the videos, thanks for your good work! One comment WRT being a tank commander. You button up too quickly much of the time. In WWII commanders wee criticized when they ducked down too quickly. You loose sight of what is going on and cannot hear. In your Pz III vids you do a better job keeping on top. Great job though! Good hunting...
Hey all!
I will be streaming on twitch in a few hours! I hope to start streaming on there more regularly.
Head on over! www.twitch.tv/wolfpack3451
Allright. ;)
I definitely will, but i think you should try a game called ”Hearts of Iron 4” It’s related to ww2 and it’s a strategy game.
@@PeterNygard69 I have played it!
10/11. Not enough accidental Luger pointing.

The IL-2s look terrifying in the open field like that lol

Tiger? I hardly know her!
Lol
You have a Luger don't you - why weren't you valiantly fending off those IL-2s? 🧐

that was a good mission, frustrating with lack of targets as such, but it does give a perspective on the receiving end of a ground strike

Wolfpack: "That's disappointing, we'll move up and see maybe I can take some pot shots..."

These giant tank battles are just epic.
I think so too!
1:03 I hardly think it's appropriate for a tank commander to be listening to his favourite tunes when there's a flipping battle going on! 😃

Thanks Wolfpack345!
"Good luck, comrade!"
That's cold.

Nice ep
Thank!
your video's are awesome man.
what are your PC specs?
Excellent. If German tanks had a 20mm AA gun, maybe those IL2s wouldn't be so much of a problem ?
probably way more commanders would have died, especially since guns were the only thing to hit tanks reliably
@@krzysztofbroda5376 I was thinking more of a 20mm in a small armoured turret, for the commander.

@@tooichan Half turret ? steel Guards ? most tanks needed AA capability, later US tanks had 50 cal Mgs
@@RemusKingOfRome a 50 Cal is very different from a 20 mm, also, some German tanks had AA mgs, MG34s or 42s , on the cupola

R u playing with track IR? I found that when playing in tanks, Track IR can be a littel tricky
Nice video but can you include the music at the beginning in the description?
It is the German Theme from the original IL-2
Can u tell what the hardware u are using bro?
Is this the $80 expansion pack on steam?
Yeah it is. You can purchase it standalone on the website.
So I assume the barrels constantly being elevated is a bug?
No its just a march stance

love your gameplay but the cannons all pointing in air is annoying r they gonna fix that glitch
I think it's no bug,the cannons in the air while advancing was the arrogance of the germans, they wantet to show they power
And sorry for my bad english,Im german and used translator
It's just a march stance, and in my opinion i kinda like it
Wolf you are way out of position man you need to let the driver Drive.
given this is a German tank, it's an Otto pilot?
