I have both the azdome m550 and m550 pro dashcams and they're generally pretty nice. Hardware is great, software is .... not bad, but could use some tweaks and updates, and be a bit less clunky to use. The wifi in them is also a bit disappointing. Not real fast, and it would be MUCH nicer if I could for example connect to it from inside my house whenever I want to do transfers, etc. As is the wifi has extremely short range (like, pretty much only within the car) and you have to manually enable it when wanting to connect, and it auto disconnects after a short period. I can say for certain though that their support is top notch, and the handful of times I've had issues "Sunny" got back to me fast and took excellent care of me every time.
This series is great. You had mentioned at the end of the Lingdu video that you had another system that had 4K cameras front and rear. Obviously that's not the case. I don't think such a system exists yet. I have the Wolfbox G900 which comes with the upgraded rear camera. Like you, I have it mounted inside of a tinted rear window so at night it's not ideal. Hopefully this is not the final installment and we can get the rear night vision to work better than it does. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge.
Yeah I thought this one had a 4K rear camera, but turns out it only had a 1080p camera like the others. Hopefully in the future someone will make a camera that has a 4K camera because that will be the solution. The camera that I have is something I can live with but it's just not perfect. I am also thinking about adding a switch box and multiple camera, where I have some cameras under the jeep as trail cameras. I think that might be a very cool options, still trying to figure how that would work.
@@evolvedjeepin I hope you do the multi-camera project. I was actually thinking about a second camera on the outside rear for use at night. My feeling is with the dark tint a 4K camera alone will not fix the issue. Like you, I can live with what I have but with current technology we should be able to do better.
Thanks for this! FYI: I think the QR code may indicate that one can set this unit up as a hot spot which can then be shared with others (like an Uber driver might do for passengers).
I have a longer vehicle, how many pins on the rear camera cable where you could put an extension cable in? azdome doesn’t tell or say which extension cable works with this system for the rear camera.
I have the Wolfbox G900. It's a little bit of a step up over the 840S but shares most of the traits. I actually prefer it's trapezoid shape over the rectangle but like you said - its all personal preference. I agree wholeheartedly on the cabling issue but I don't belive a proprietary connector is the answer. They need to make the input jacks on the back of the mirror instead of the top so they can be hidden from view. A flexible conduit to run them through would also help in appearance. The rear camera in my Wolfbox G900 also suffers from that awful headlight glare at night. I wonder if a camera with a Sony Starvis 2 sensor would be the solution to this problem? I don't have a jeep but this video popped up in my recommendations. I really enjoyed your content, style, and epic beard but if I could make one tiny little observation... When it's just you and the selfie stick it looks like you have a tendency like I do and you kinda sway back and forth. The camera move in/out is a little bit distracting. But maybe its just me. Anyways, I enjoyed the video and I'll check out some more.
I have the same hardware that I brought as well as the cables. In you screen the camera symbol is activated but in my screen it’s not activated and has a slash on the camera symbol. How do you activate the camera?
Thank you for this amazing series! Couldn't agree more the rear view dash cams are necessary for my Rubicon, specifically with my 37" wheel mounted on the back door. I hope they'll upgrade the rearview camera to 4K soon. Just to clarify - if I buy this Azdome PG19X system (which I definitely prefer), the Wolfbox camera upgrade DOES WORK with Azdome system as well, correct? Or would you suggest another camera upgrade for the Azdome system? Another question: if I were to buy the Wolfbox camera upgrade with the Azdome system (assuming they work together), which is the hardwire kit I should buy? I assume I'd need to buy the AZDOME JYX05 Dash Cam Hardwire Kit, but since I'm considering the Wolfbox rear camera upgrade would the WOLFBOX USB C Hardwire Kit be more appropriate? I really appreciate your help and thank you so much in advance !
Yes the Wolfbox camera works with the Azdome, that is what I am using right now. And for the hardwire kit you can use the Wolfbox hardware kit or the Azdome USB-C OBDII plug, that would also work. I am using the Wolfbox hardwire kit.
@@evolvedjeepin Great review - question about the upgraded wolfbox rear camera. I see on Amazon that the G900 has an option with 4K front and 2.5K rear. Is that the camera you upgraded to? Oh never mind - I see you just upgraded to the WDR camera. You might want to check out the new 2.5K rear cam. In one review video, the camera is superior to even the WDR camera by far.
@@evolvedjeepin I'm looking to put a mirror dashcam in my 80 series Land Cruiser but the 12" mirror interferes with the visor shades. Unfortunately, the 2.5K rear cam is only offered on the 12" G900. Doesn't seem to be a way to inquire directly with Wolfbox to see if they will offer the 2.5K cam separately and whether it'll work with the 10" mirror.
@@evolvedjeepin They just came out with a NEW one with a lot of upgrades, including a new rear view cam. It's the G900 Pro. Unfortunately, it's only offered in a 12" model at this point.
Nice to see it in a Jeep! Do you drive with the screen off? How is the mirror quality compared to a standard rear view mirror? I only read one comment about the mirror being a little dark and distorted.
Thanks for your helpful videos and thorough analysis! After watching this video, I'm considering buying this Azdome PG19X 4K Rearview Mirror Dashcam System instead of the Wolfbox system because, like you, I think it would look much better on my Jeep JL and I like the wifi feature. I'm really interested to know which Wolfbox rear camera upgrade you used but didn't see it among the links and couldn't find it when I searched online. Can you kindly share a link to the upgraded rear camera? Thanks again!
@evolvedjeepin I mention it because I have been a viofo fan since 2016, but I have to admit I'm intrigued by the Wolfbox G900 Pro. The camera angle on Viofo is 130 degrees, and I'm curious if the image clarity and sharpness of the Wolfbox G900 Pro is lost with stretching the field of view to 170 degrees.
Great video with good organization. I've learned that I will not buy ANY of them... the rear cameras are just no good at all. Very disappointing. But a great video nonetheless!
Thanks buddy. Great series.
Thankyou for this video, i was having trouble finding the wifi on and off and you showed it, problem solved thanks so much

hi, i believe we should also be particular with the fps (frames per second) capability.
Could you please advise more detail about the OEM bracket. Is that a universal type mounting to the dashcam ? Thank you.
You have to buy a universal ball joint and the. The back plate for the back of the mirror.
Where did you buy the upgrader back camera. The bracket and ball connector is for the Azdome?
Check the description on my video and the other rear view mirror videos that I have done
Would this set up clear the adaptable cruise control box??
Possibly but not sure, might be in the way a bit.
Hi mate, thanks for the review, does the rear camera also supports parking monitoring? Cheers.
Yes it has it, you can even wire it up to your reverse light to Tigger the lines to show up.

Yeah Amazon says it is. Would love to see if it’s true lol

Do your visors hit when using
Yes, you have to turn the mirror to adjust the visors
Sweet it was exactly what i wanted to do, create a more oem look!
I like the Wolfbox better, more uniform, the other one has a bright spot in center ad darker to the edges.
Yeah when you use the upgraded camera that goes away
Sorry to see your front door got damaged and you could only find a red one second hand to replace it with.
Does it have a cabin view
Not really, unless you put the rear camera facing into the cabin.

how does gps work
Uses an antenna and it mainly just shows the vehicle speed.
I have a AZDOME PG19x and I have the antenna in the box. But would I have to go to the settings to display the miles vehicle speed?
Frankly speaking, the camera on this streaming mirror looks really ugly.
I don't disagree, that was one of my negatives about this unit.
