    The chrome plating on my top grills has started to come off on mine after a year, great idea with the 1 piece stainless ones, I’m sure you know now as this video is from a year ago but the butterfly should only be open to get the wood chunks smouldering then you shut it so it doesn’t catch alight, if there’s flames then there’s little smoke, I use a blow torch to get the edges glowing then you don’t need to open the butterfly at all as long as you top up before it burns out, keep on smoking and cheers from UK 🇬🇧 👍🏻👊🏻🥃

    • @HeavyMetalBarBQue
      @HeavyMetalBarBQue  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi Paul from UK! What You say is exactly correct. I found that the chips and chunks will smolder better with just the butterfly left closed. I never open it anymore. They start to smolder just from the heat of the metal. 🤘
      More smoke from smoldering wood........
      No smoke from Ignited wood. 👍

    I really like what you did to your WW Pro (good job)! Just out of curiosity, did you look at the Weber Searwood? If so what is your opinion of it? I need to purchase a new pellet grill and I'm considering the CC Woodwind Pro 24 and the Weber Searwood 600.

      Thanks for checking out my Vid! 👍 I would recommend watching my other Vids on the CCWW Pro also. 👍 I don't believe Weber had released the Searwood at the time I bought this one. I will tell You to consider how you would clean out the Fire Pot before every cook. The CC takes 5 seconds. That is huge for me.
      The CC has Stainless body parts......That's important to me. You have to decide what is important to You. I would recommend watching as many Vids and reviews on both so you make the right decision. Don't rush into it......do the research and let me know what you get. Metal On! \🔥/

      My 2 cents if I may....all depends on what grade of stainless steel you are talking about. 18/8, 304, and 316 stainless steel are considered not magnetic. You are partially correct though, some stainless grades are magnetic. What grade of stainless is the CC Woodwind Pro made of?

    • @HeavyMetalBarBQue
      @HeavyMetalBarBQue  Місяць тому +1

      Well the FirePot and Heat deflector box and the box that chips go in are true 304 stainless.....magnet won't stick and these parts will last forever. The drip pan and cook chamber body is a cheaper stainless, magnet sticks, but is Stainless and should hold up for a long time. No issues of rust or deterioration yet. Metal On! \🔥/

    Just because its magnetic doesnt mean its not stainless. There is no “true stainless”. It depends on the crystal structure: if its martensitic its more magnetic, if its austenitic its less (or none). Stainless steel just means it has a minimum % of chromium. I forget the amount, something like 10-15%

      It opens to let the fire hit the chips or chunks in the drawer. Found it best to just slightly crack it.....because the chips will ignite without a lot of smoke. Have found with a Pellet grill it's best to use a SmokeTube filled with chips....they will Smolder for a long time. This design of this grill is cool and cleaver.......but it doesn't work like it's claimed to. Best if you leave the valve closed......the chips will eventually start to smolder in time. Just get a SmokeTube. 👍 \🔥/

      several other brands....the new Traeger Ironwood being at the top of my list. I really like the design of the fire pot and ash and grease clean out. But the price is $1700.00. The new designed grease tray isn't True Stainless which is a let down for that much money. Also looked at the Z Grills, Weber, RecTec, GrillaGrills,and few others.....but kept coming back to the Camp Chef for $1200.00. The 24" is big enough....but not too big.
