About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

JEAN STAPLETON!!!!!!!! She’s so brilliant it makes me weep.
Probably the funniest episode in the entire series. Archie coined the phrase Groinocologist…😅😅
I use that expression sometimes and get a hardy laugh from my friends!! 🤪🤪🤪In my 60's but feel sooooo much younger!! 😱
Lionel's Engaggement Party is my favorite.
I remember when Edith told Archie to stifle. Hilarious 😂
50 years later and it still floors me.😂
And that term has been embedded in my brain ever since my childhood. LMAO.
I've used it for decades.
When she tells him to stifle...that was television GOLD.
Such a ground breaking sitcom that tackled every social subject imaginable. Two comic legends that still resonate laughs out loud 50+ years later.
They both were such fantastic performers in their roles!
This is one of my favorite episodes. I laughed so hard the first time I saw this when Edith told Archie to stifle 🤣🤣🤣
Stifle stifle stifle🤣🤣
YES !!!!!
@toroniman~~Lol~~I remembered this episode like it was yesterday~~I was babysitting my niece and woke her up because I was laughing so hard~~My 2 year old niece was laughing with me when I took her out of the crib~~Hilarious~~Then I thought, "Will this happen to me"??..lol~~Luckily I never got like that~~But I remember my Mom did and my Dad left the house and said "Later"~~lol~~🤣🤣🤣
Still laughing 50 years later~
Exactly 💯!!
Love this show so much!! 😂🤣
The performance of Jean Stapleton was memorable in this episode. When a character is forced to go against the grain it is funny Archie unable to control the situation with Edith
Edith Bunker reaction to her being upset and angry is pretty hilarious
This is cutting edge, talking about menopause
especially in the 70s! :)
Such classic TV. There’s no show like this anymore
Loved the episodes with George and Archie as well.
When I watched this episode, I cried laughing. Her response at 4:12 was priceless. 😂😂
Poor Archie just trying to keep the peace before he goes crazy 🤣
One of my favorite shows in the 70s
Iconic show!
How Edith started screaming right before the end of the video is hilarious.
Well, were not gonna have pot roast! Classic. I love it when Edith gets riled up

@@maximusmeridius1665 so sorry for the grammar error. Was extremely exhausted when I posted this, and have poor vision. But please feel free to correct me anytime. Have a beautiful day. Thank you
@@abbyhess1200 aw it's quite alright, no worries. I was just giving you a hard time. Have a good rest. You're welcome :)
And you don't see that very often what a ultimate show just a true absolute just absolutely so. 😊
@@davidrockey7190 totally agree
They are so good together!!
Poor Edith. Menopause is no joke. So much physical things going on that it leaves a woman feeling like she just got repeatedly run over by a Sherman tank. Everyday for years.
Menopause didn't bother me too much except for anxiety attacks. Sure was glad the monthlys were gone.
In his way Archie was trying to be kind. That’s what made this show great: depth of character. Archie was mostly awful, but sometimes you just couldn’t help but identify with the guy. And Mike was pretty insufferable sometimes but he was a good guy who cared about Archie. Good writing.
Jean Stapleton won an Emmy for this episode! What an actress! ❤
thank you, finally someone that GETS IT. Most of the comments I see here are people complaining about "that commie liberal Rob Reiner" and praising Archie Bunker as a role model. Both characters were far from perfect, and that's what made the show so special.
Archie trying to keep his composure😂 LMAO..smh...then he lost it, and popped a Xanax😅
To the most talented actors in history of television
Archie is brilliant going from calm to losing it. Edith too, also going from normal to menopause.
Ignorant! Menopause is normal.
When i was little i didn't understand about menopause, but now that i am going through it, i sympathize with Edith
What is it--are these mood swings?
My own experience has been this--I'll be sitting at the computer and feeling okay. Then, the next minute, out of the blue, I'll be heavily perspiring! It's horrible--feels like I just emerged from a steam room!
I was forced to watch this TV as a kid but as time went by Edith was my favorite character RIP Jean Stapleton 😢
"Super Dingbat" made me lol!!
Jean Stapleton was by far one of the greatest character 👏 actresses in television 📺 history!!
As someone who's enduring menopause, I needed this. Some aspects don't apply...I'm alone, only my cats have to deal with my moods. I try not to yell at them, tho.
But, thanks for this....
😄
If I remeber right, Edith's eye lashes end up in Archie's soup!
Yes!
Ha ha !! 😂
Too funny!
What incredible actors!
Just remember one of the best shows that were ever made and Edith was one of the most beautiful characters of all that is God bless ,. The show and all that were in it it's true absolute one of a kind ...😊😂❤️.
This episode was the funniest one of the entire series! I loved it when she said STIFLE-to Archie! When she gets really mad at him and throws the phone at him, I laugh as well. My mother felt like doing that to my father alot of times when I was a kid because he was being a real jerk to her.
The Pope Diamond.
Archie's malapropisms are the best.
Well, at least Archie tried to be nice♥️
Suddenly I want to give my husband a big hug and thank him for his patience during 12 years of perimenopause.
I went through a difficult divorce when mine began, so my being moody and cranky could have been from one, the other.....or both ! LOL. Although, in the years after my decree was issued I don't recall any symptoms as bad as Edith's were, however, my mom did have a difficult decade-long phase before it was all over.
@@msr1116 My Mom barely had any symptoms so she wasn’t much help.
My " husband" wasn't there for me in menaupause. Not one bit. I gave him 6 beautiful kids and we have grandchildren and I'm in the middle of a divorce. He was the wrong choice. Relish and love your husband they are rare...
@@שולמיתרושI'm very thankful that I have a loving doting husband. 🙏♥️
@@danacaro-herman3530 enjoy him. And keep him close. Not many of those out there . I KNOW!!!
"That's your own individualistic private cooler"
😂🤣 This show is the best!!
She probably was expecting some jewelry.
I am going through perimenopause so I can relate to Edith .. thankfully i am single and don't have worry about driving someone crazy..lol
Wait wait, where’s the “one, two, three change” part 🤣♥️
I got one of those little fan things for myself. Battery operated. Good for the summer when it's so hot. Not just for hot flushes lol.
It was kinda thoughtful of Archie
The greatest damn television show ever made. 2nd would be the Honeymooners.
You are so correct. I remember both shows!!!
@@Lotus1111 Your correct. Both shows were fantastic.
@@LucysPop Back when people had a sense of humor and weren’t constantly looking for an opportunity to be offended…
One of the best episodes of the first 5 seasons.
Jumping into an outside ice bath during a blizzard in the middle of Winter wouldn't help a 'hot flush'. I think this was the first show to mention the unmentionable 'change of life', right?
"He ain't talkin' to me, he's talkin' to some old lady!"
mike johnson • That line is 🤣😂, however, I also heard the heart break💔in Mrs Bunker's tone.
I think this is the only episode where Mike and Archie werent fighting.
I remember him saying ' Edith if you're going through menepause you got 5 minutes'.
'Mental pause' lol
Not the "Pope"💎Archie, omg🙌🏾🤣🤣...He don't know what to do!
I saw the "Pope" Diamond and Archie and Edith's two iconic chairs on the same DC trip as a child
Damn she told him about the pot roast 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I remember this. For its time it was a great show. First time they showed a "real" family. No more Leave It To Beaver or Father Knows Best.
Yes. I am going through menopause myself, so I how Edith is feeling.🤯
I know! I started the worse portion just as my hubby & I were starting out on our retirement dreams (full time RVing around the US) - he put up with a lot with me while we were getting use to being with each other 24/7. I remember many a day I would just start crying & poor Larry couldn't understand 🤯. We learned that just getting a long sit down with hugs really helped me remember that he really did care about & needed me (fear of him leaving me was great). I thankfully didn't have night sweats, but the mood swings & daytime hot flashes were bad enough. I got over the worst part in 1 year (probably was perimenopausal for about 2-3 years prior & slowly by 60 was done) I Believe you're going to make it & come out better for it! ❤😊
Love those guys from all in the family
This was such a great show! Miss it!
Archie was really trying...
Bless His Heart 😀😀😀
This was the nest real down to earth show ,no pretense or hurt feelings just humor.
Edith apparently likes it when Archie gets upset and yells at her; she knows her cares what she does.❤️
I think it was, I remember that one from 25 years ago. I feels bad for Archie in this one, 😂 hahaha.
Hearing Edith say "dammit" was the funniest thing and Archie, Mike and Glorias reaction was hilarious as well
Poor Archie! Can't win for losing! LOLOLOL! 😁😁😁😁😁 Soooo funny!
What a great memory this brought back .I miss those days. The Tenn Girl.
One of the sweetest times watching archie. He was trying
2:31-2:34...... Archie's expression nearly had me on the floor! 😂😂😂😂
I love this. Poor Edith😳Her eyelashes are beautiful and Archie is so funny. 😂
so funny how i learned about it asked my mom she said go look in the dictionary 😂 a great episode
Those were the days.
What we learned from the show was we have to have humerus fun and lots of communication laughter makes me forget about all the stress
Love her being upset
My favorite edith episode
Edith was the glue that held that show together
Archie, the consummate Jack***🐴🐎. "Yesterday's 🍲 Soup". Poor Edith.
He was funny... LOL 😆😂
Jean was 49 during this episode.
@johngranato2673. She looked in her 60s. But Jean Stapleton was fabulous!!! ♥️
🤣 Hot flushes, Pope diamond, groinocologist...Archie was from a different school of life and funny as h*ll! 😂
One of The Best!
They do not make comedy like that anymore *** The writers knew how to tease us *** Those were the days.
A groundbreaking show that was all is well done and very funny, no matter what subject they traveled.
Back when I was growing up, this was a classic. My father and my mother would watch this show every night. It was something that I watched with interest because my house was never like this. Both my parents were alcoholics and all they ever did was scream and yell they would sit there drinking beer until they were drunk and screaming and yelling would start, but it always started around 5 o’clock with the news and then the bunkers
I have never seen this episode, but now I have to!!
One of my favorite AITF episodes!
Funny Episode!😂
Well we're not gonna have pot roast! 😂
role reversal when she starts yelling at him and he's the one being nice! oh how i want to see a lot more of that.
"Pope" diamond
Hot flushes
This show was amazing.
Where's the full episode I laughed hard on this one
They were both going through a menopause.
It ain't the Pope diamond 😏😏
This made me laugh hard but women go through a lot when we change it stinks too
Hormones are brutal..
Excellent episode though. Amazing acting on this show!
Lol he so cute trying to be nice
Archie is really trying. That's a big deal for him
fantastic i loved it all
They could make a horse laugh♡♡.
The Pope Diamond lol
He was trying so hard and it's a wonder he didn't get whiplash having to come to an abrupt 180 that way.
I for once feel bad for archie
Edith was like the three faces of Eve when she went through menopause. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
@@harperstacey9604 Ha ha! So true!
@@jenniferhansen3622 I love it when Edith yells at Archie. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
I can relate to Edith going through all that stuff myself
Show me a man who's been married for more than 20 years and I'll show you a hero. Dealing with unannounced monthly changes in women is a very confusing task.
Yes and even more confusing when men act that way for no reason!! lol😍😆🤣🤣😛😛
@@carinrestuc6242True! 🤣😂🤣
I just wonder why Edith didn't smother him with a pillow long before she reached menopause.
It ain't exactly the " POPE" Diamond .....😆 lol 😆
My father did not allow us to watch that show (in the old days we only had one tv in the entire house). He hated it. He though Archie was a loud mouth and Edith's voice was irritating.
Very occasionally the pilot episode airs and it shows Edith with a personality and attitude far closer to Archie's. I wonder if a test panel disliked her snark and the writers revamped the character into the one we all know---much like what took place with Rhoda on The MTM Show.
Archie is going through his mental pause!
I ♥ Edith.
Awe jeez !!
3:14 HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Menopause setting the man straight🤣
Great 👍 show
