- IT'S FINALLY HERE AFTER NEARLY 2 MONTHS OF WORK, hello Zoro nation!!!
This was supposed to be for his birthday but it took me waaaaay longer so I'm uploading it now!
I want do adress a few thing about this project, as soon as I heard this song it spoke to me, about the loyalty and devotion Zoro as for Luffy, from protecting him and his smile to actually giving up his own life for his capitain. This could be also considered both romantic or platonic, it's up to the viewer, same thing with the symbolism that this animatic brings. The only symbolism that I want to explain in a few words is the "moth to a flame" part, where Zoro grows out moth wings to symbolize his attraction to light, which in this case is Nika Luffy that has respectively butterfly wings.

I honestly love the parallels between Kuina and Luffy, rarely see the two of them compared with each other, but I guess it makes sense since they're both people Zoro respect and look up to.

They're both the only people whom's dreams Zoro fights towards. Being the strongest for Kuina and helping Luffy be the Pirate King.
I think it’s very intentional, zoro is drawn to people stronger that him (kuina, luffy, Mihawk)
I feel like Kuina is more parallel to the ocean, in that sequence. It's a powerful opponent that he struggles to overcome. All of his determination to surpass Kuina, it's being channelled into making it to the surface and keeping his captain and their dreams alive.

Oh god oh my god at 1:27 I literally got shivers through my whole entire body. I want to make work like this some day. The way you portray them is just so real. I love how luffy shows a different side of himself just for Zoro, and zoro for luffy just the same. God I can’t get over it. The whole moth to a flame symbolism and everything. Damn. Damn luffy is just a whole magical entity in this, he’s just so gentle with Zoro it makes me want to cry

Sooo beautiful 🥰😍❤️❤️❤️ ZoLu is such a beautiful, perfect yet underrated ship. Whenever I talk to my one piece fan friends and I mention that ZoLu is my otp they find me weird or just simply tell im stupid cause I ship them, and I just wonder if we watched the same show?? Like how can you not see their special bond, the way Zoro is a wreck for Luffy, and how Luffy treats Zoro so differently than the other strawhats. Sabaody and Thriller bark arc is such a proof for that. ❤️
Oh I can definitely see it, but a lot of one piece fans aren’t into that stuff or very aware so they aren’t as open about it

This was beautiful!!, Not just from like a shipper perspective cause thats already making my heart swoon, but also in a techinical perspective, the way you made zoros three sword onigiri move, actually look sensible AND cool is incredibly impressive, even the anime makes it a quick beam, so in my eyes this waa godly, also just noticed zoros top surg scars, and thats such a nice touch ❤
as a coby x luffy shipper, this animatic gives zoro a lot more personality that hes missing in the anime

So I have loved the Zoro and Luffy relationship (both platonic and romantic) since I was in high school... sooo like 2004, though I haven't caught up with One Piece in some time. I'm starting to get back into it thanks to the live action and youtube is now recommending me things. I am absolutely giddy to encounter such excellent ZoLu content here in 2023.
This was absolutely beautiful, the imagery, the expressions, the whole moth to the flame bit. The way Luffy's smile lights everything up, the way Zoro looks at him like his heart is gonna break- not the sort of break that comes from feelings unrequited but from the sort of passion that comes specifically from seeing someone else with such intense love and respect. The fact that this hits the VERY SPECIFIC spot I've always seen them as like, INTENSELY close but doesn't necessarily have to be romantic? (but y'know, ABSOLUTELY CAN BE if you ship it) Chef's kiss, everything I could ever want. Song choice is IMMACULATE, just perfect in every way.

Recently started one piece. I don’t mind spoilers and I’m on episode 40. I can’t wait to know every single thing this animatic references and for it to feel like a kick to the solar plexus. It’s already very beautiful with the pieces of context missing for me. Thank you for sharing

But nobody gives Kiltro enough love, and this happens to be one of my favorite songs by them of all time, so that is to say I totally watched this animatic regardless. and oh my god. This was absolutely stunning. The dynamic in all of the movements, the composition of all the frames. Immaculate.
I adore that you were able to build an entire narrative within this video that felt like it was canon. Zoro's Devotion to his captain and his crew, his determination to preservere witzh and for the others, with Kuina`s death in the back of his mind, reminding him that he bears her dream on his shoulders as well.
Especially the end almost made me tear up.
