I had this, with 2 photoetch kits, if memory serves, once set came with clothes hanging up on a line, a brightest blue colour which I didn't like at all with the camo painting. Wow, this is going back a few years
my dad served on that ship from 1950-1952

yes indeed, but the glass case is an expencive thing.
Reminds of all the movies where a Maverick-commander enters the admiral's office and the admiral is putting him down while staring at the destroyer model. And in that moment I always thought - where can I buy such a model 😊😂

Das ist ein wirklich tolles Modell,ich glaube in den 70er Jahren gab es das auch mal im kleineren Maßstab.Ist es auch möglich das Schiff,ohne Photoetch zu bauen ? Irgenthwie bekomme ich das mit dem Ätzteilen nicht hin.Hab in meiner Jugend viele Modelle gebaut und fast 42 Jahre Pause gemacht und dann vor 3 Jahren wieder angefangen Modelle zubauen.Welches Werkzeug braucht man,um die Teile des PE abzutrennen ? Bzw was ist das beste bzw notwendig.Besten dank schonmal im vorraus.Du hast das echt drauf👌🔝Grüße aus Mainz🙋♂️
vielen lieben Dank für dein Feedback. Natürlich kannst du die Modelle auch ohne Ätzteile bauen, sie sehen dann nur nicht so filigran aus. Zum Trennen der Teile benutze ich ein Skalpell mit unterschiedlichen Klingen und zum Biegen gibt es auch Biegewerkzeuge in unterschiedlichen Größen. Und zum Maßstab muß ich sagen, es kann nicht groß genug sein, ich favorisiere 1:144 oder sogar 1:200. Ich wünsche dir und deiner Familie ein geruhsames Wochenende. 👍
Danke für deine Antwort,ja das wünsche ich dir such🙏Stimmt die Größer der Modelle machst wirklich enorm viel aus.TRUMPETER hat da viel im Sortiment.Habe zbs die Uss Nimitz in 1:350,aber noch nicht gebaut,die ist fast über einen Meter lang.Tolles Modell.Und dann gibts da noch die Rms Titanic in 1:200.Schon Enorm was es da so alles gibt.Aber alles eine Geld und auch Platzfrage zumal ich ja auch Musiker bin und Guitaren.Anyway🙋♂️

Very little on a real warship is bright polished brass as shown here. Mainly a relatively few fittings, but certainly not what is depicted. Maybe he came back later and "oxidized" it?
I would like to say that the ship is not painted. This step should be done later. Then the brass parts would have been painted in the appropriate color. But you could have seen that. ✌🏻
