One other thing, that needs to be mentioned... Drink it NEAT... Not on the rocks... Everything I have seen, heard, or read mentions this... I drink my whiskey neat... The only way to go... Cheers... 😎😎🍺🍺
We toured the place a few years ago. Best time I've had in years. Very educational! When they opened the vat, I was like "Yessssss" lol I've tried all versions, but the Single Barrel is my favorite. It's also the most expensive, of course lol. We save that for special occasions - and cooking.
My wife and I were in Chicago in 1980 on business. We went to a liquor store and bought a bottle of Jack Daniel's in the Belle of Lincoln Bottle and brought it back home to Ohio. I read the Tag, after being home, on the bottle and followed the directions and mailed in the information needed to get a Bottle Banding with my name, date and bottling number for the neck of the bottle. It was Bottling #12 and dated October 1980. The Tag is still on the UNOPENED bottle of this Liquid Gold and being 44 years old one can only WONDER how it would taste. Any comments? Wish I could put a picture of it on this comment. OH~~~I forgot to say this.....We moved from Ohio to Southern Florida for retirement and have been married for 59 years this past October and I was "CONSIDERING" to "CRACK" the bottle for our 60th Annivesary next year...MAYBE??
Whiskey doesn't really change once bottled as long as it has been stored correctly (room temperatures and not in sunlight). You shouldn't wait to open such a special bottle....you never know what tomorrow brings. Open it and enjoy it! Congrats on nearly 60 years!
@@islepilot That "Special" bottle was/has been kept out of the sun in our air-conditioned home in Ohio for 32 years and now in Florida for the past 12 years. You are CORRECT about "Tomorrow" as this past July 1st I had a Craniotomy and was in the hospital for 2 weeks and then in rehab for 2 weeks. I wasn't allowed to drive in August either, but NOW I'm pretty much back to "Normal" and I THANK the Lord everyday too!
Hate to be the bearer of bad news. All the years of sitting in the bottle didn't change the taste at all. Whiskey doesn't age in glass. Ageing only happens in the wood barrel where it can breathe. So, drink that bottle with your lovely bride and remember all the years together.
Years ago I was in the liquor business. Found a 1.75 liter of Jack still in its bottle with a serial number and gift box in a dark dusty liquor back room. The bottle was a crystal riverboat flask. Believe it was bottled in the 40’s or 50’s. Paid $5 bucks for it!
A whisky lover once said that a strong side roast cherry would always be a great ambition forecast in his new pops. He mentioned that a wine bloomer would try and escape his trench rug before a rime and instead of tow berry he always clinched to a notion.
I’ve been to the Dack Daniels Distillery a couple of times and took the tour. A Really cool place to visit. Ole number 7 means it aged At Least 7 years some are aged a lot longer but not indicated on the label.
Seeing how Jack Daniel's is made really gives you a whole new appreciation for the process! 🍂 From the charcoal mellowing to the aging in those barrels, it's like a perfect blend of science and art. It's wild to think how something that starts as raw ingredients ends up as this iconic whiskey. 🥃 The craftsmanship behind every bottle is insane! Who else is now craving a glass just to taste the history behind it? 🤔
It was a ritual that I wouls drink a fifth on new years eve.... but those days are past, I visited the plant once and the best part was the barrel house, the aroma was awesome!!!! And the charcoal vat could burn the hair out of your nose......
Ref 2:25 in these 150 ml fermenters, that's a vastly inaccurate description of the vessel size. A 12 fl-oz pop can id 355 ml. I think those vessels in the images can hold thousands of liters.
I used to build scaffold at alberta distillers limited and man when we built scaffold in the barrel storage warehouses, there was some days I was buzzed just from breathing in the fumes, I remember one day we all had to wait to drive home cause we wouldn't have passed a breath test, specially when you got up to the top of the warehouse, oh man, eyes where watering, nose was stinging, just breaking pure vodka fumes for 8 hours
I've been sober for 22 years. I get Psilocybin Flashbacks if I drink. I used to like beer, but when I was young, I liked Vodka. It's fun to drink sometimes.
There's nothing better than a good shot of Jack and a good cigar
Amen to that 👍

Went to this distillery back in 97. The gift shop was incredible. We practically redecorated our home in JD decor.

There's another famous whiskey that originated in a specific location because of a water source. Crown Royal.

150mililiter tanks.. lmfao

Ok!
Nice one, for me
Understand
Jack is not bad, but I like the flavor of a good bourbon a lot better. JD is still, and will always be, a part of my liquor cabinet!
Is it able to drink pouring from this barrel from these factory itself ?
Just buy barrel proof whiskey. That's what it is straight from the barrel to the bottle.

So you don't really like whiskey you like whiskey flavoured soda if you drink jack and coke .
