What an absolute sweetie of a cat. She wasn't really happy with the water or the blow dryer, but still remained calm. 10/10 kitty.
That's one nice f***in' kitty right there.
Oh no. Not 10/10.
10000000000000000000000000000000/10!
That’s a great cat right there
If I ever get a cat someday, I want one like this.
All cats are 10/10 as a minimum. (Even the one who refused to stop peeing on the foot of my bed). It only goes up from there.
Piper did extremely well for her first time and for being a cat.
I read this as "first time being a cat" and was quite confused but cats are strange creatures
@@Bobmcjoepants Lol same
Cats have personalities just like dogs the majority of the cats I have are very social and laid back but maybe that’s a bengal thing.

@@Bobmcjoepants Same. Confused, but accepted it immediately.
"Oh, I guess that's why they have 9 lives."
Wow, that's an incredibly well-behaved cat. Even when clearly in discomfort she did not attack or protest excessively. Absolute sweetheart with great owners, no doubt.
I've noticed brown tabbies tend to be a lot calmer (and larger) than most. I've got a 15 pound brown tabby boy who is the gentlest cat I've ever seen.
@@WardenWolf aw
How cats SHOULD act but people think it’s cool and funny when their cats are assholes so their cats get vile lol. She was a sweetie
That does happen. When I was a kid, my sister had a bobtail that was incredibly sweet. She never brought out her claws even when my dad was lancing an abscess(we lived out in the country). The cat did believe that she was a mountain lion despite her size though and was the most successful hunter on the property.
No.

@@imhim220 if your goal was confusion you've done a terrific job of that

@@imhim220 what does that have to do with anything??
I can believe all that shedding Ms. Piper was doing. Every time I brush my cat, it's a never ending stream of fur.
I have the furminator it works pretty good, but it's like cash on never ending, because cats have a true cold, they got that under coat, my female cat loves it, I'll sit there, I'm like I need to get one of those masks hat things that she has, because when I forget stuff lying, it gets in your mouth, it gets everywhere.
I don't want to be participating in a hacking up fur balls. When we go to our local park early enough, I can groom or outside, which is great because I don't have to clean up afterwards and it helps the birds build a nest, especially this time of the year. 😸
I have a few back cats and they shed like this. One would happily let me brush him bald so long as it got him attention.
Cats stop shedding??
@@Catnipfumar Do be careful with the furminator, since it has blades that actively cuts hair (hence why it never stops coming), using it too regularly can result in bald patches 🤔
@@soulcatcher_pajome never had a problem with it, the blades are there to get down to the undercoat, never had any problem. It was my veterinarian that told me to get one and I lucked out and found one for short hair cats on Amazon for, like, 12 dollars. PETCO wanted me to pay fourty dollars. Yeah, right 😹

Some cats are just really chill. It's also possible her owners got her adjusted to bathing just not grooming. But still pretty incredible kibby behavior.
@@Faucetofstone tell me about it. She's so well behaved. I thought you weren't supposed to do it because they'd get rowdy.🤔
Yeah.. I also got a cat piercing in my cartilage. Took her on a 20 minute ride to my moms when we were going on vacation. Had to be held because she nervous poops unless she’s held. Then freaked out and stabbed my ear. I wish she could handle the groomers like this cat lol she’s a fluffy baby
@@Danny-be1ex oof! That gotta hurt. Also, so sorry that your furbaby has nervous poops.🥺 At least your baby is doing okay.
That's cause somebody told the cat that his owner is a government informant (SNITCH)
"the fangs of fury and mittens of murder" meanwhile piper is trying her hardest to go in for a cuddle 😂
One thing with cats, pay attention to their ear and tail positions, and the shape of their pupils. If the ears are up and forward, and the tail is up, they're happy, or at least content. If the ears are folded back and the tail is out and twitching, they're pissed off. If the tail is down, they're afraid instead. Slit pupils means relaxed while big and round means they're on high alert. Piper seems to be excited with this new experience, which is something you don't normally see with cats, they normally like consistency and hate new things.
A friend that I used to know was a cat groomer. She said the worst bit was when you end up wearing one - on your face. Last time I saw her she was using a fencing faceguard.
OMG...that's terribly hilarious. But I'm sure her face is much better for it. I would love to see her in it as she is grooming!🤣🤣🤣
I know the owner of that cat he is a snitch
This comment here is why I love cats
@@imhim220 the owner is a snitch? or the cat? and what/who did he snitch on?
My uncle used to like to groom cats, by which I mean he would go on the internet and he would visit websites frequented by cats whilst pretending to be a much younger cat.
My gorgeous boy, Shu, was like that (with regards to shedding). It didn't matter WHAT tool you used, HOW long you used it, WHAT season it was... nope, he would shed continuously. I was always shocked that he didn't end up hairless, but it was like he had a reverse black hole for hair production. :D
What a beautiful calm cat..
My last vet visit...the vet commented...I drew blood..b
That's actually called a white hole ;)
One of my girls is like that. She's tiny, and I'll sit and brush her for over an hour with a deshedding brush, she'll lose some weight from it, and she still sheds like more than all four other cats combined. Her coat is still dense and soft like a rabbit, too
My cat Percy is like that. I brush him for ages and it’s like I’ve hardly done anything
The rest of my visit with miss elle...the vet said I drew her blood...took her temperature in her butte and not a sound...but when he clipped her claws she went crazy..
Go figure.
She's calmer than most of the dogs on the channel!
Hello how are you doing today
oh wow she was so happy she started making biscuits right there! they don't do that unless they feel super happy and safe. Plus you could hear how loud she was purring, what a happy cat!
That was one of the most compliant cats I have ever seen you groom.
Look at her kneading while getting her back claws clipped! What a doll.
the video title had me concerned that the Cat Itself had an earring!
piper was so so lovely and round, you did great work!
She is the sweetest chonky kitty ever 🥺
Every time you mention, “murder mittens,” it makes me smile. That is, until I remember being on the wrong end of them numerous times while trying to pill a cat
She's also called "death daggers" in another clip. 😄
And litter collectors 😅
Yeah definitely nearly lost an eye 😂 poor cat had cancer though he died. Was 13
Once my family cat was sitting on my lap while I was in the bathroom (she had some habits back then, she became a lot less clingy with age), she nuzzled a little too hard, fell off my lap and hooked into my bare thigh with her nails on her way down. Let's just say she hasn't climbed on my lap while I was on the toilet since
What a chill and sweet natured cat. Some people should be so lucky. It's been a bit over a year since my girl passed away, and I think I'm almost emotionally ready for another.
It never hurts any less to lose a pet, but the joy they give you while alive is so worth it.
I hope you’re able to heal and give another blessing a warm and nurturing home.
I know how you feel, man. I've lost two cats and my third is currently diagnosed with lymphoma, and it doesn't get any easier, but I'm glad you've been able to heal somewhat.
A stray out there would be lucky to have you look after them. Best of luck
So sorry you lost your girl. May she have happy hunting. I hope there's an absolute love of a cat awaiting you soon.
@@ExImperialDragon Yeah, cancer took her. I'd had her since she was a kitten and it was a solid 12 years and change. There is still that tiny part of me that regrets not catching it sooner, seeing her lose weight, but I just chalked it up to her being a senior cat. When she just stopped eating, I got her to the vet, and they said it was advanced stage cancer. I couldn't let her suffer anymore, so while it wrecked me inside, I realized it was time to let her go. I still weep a little thinking about it even though I know it was the right decision.
Even so, while I have some things to take care of first financially before I get another cat, I've been looking around a bit to bring one in.
She seems very chill, obviously not thrilled with the bath but she handled it like a champ! She's just a sweety pie
Piper is a VERY sweetie kitty, especially for a torby with stereotypical tortitude. I had a tabby calico, and I haven't forgotten her ceanky meow to this day! What a sweetie. She's clearly been well-socialized and loves people.
Always amazing. There’s ZERO chance in hell my late cat would tolerate a bath. She was cartoon level stereotype of “cat hating water”. In emergencies of gross things I needed to clean off her i could maybe get away with a damp towel wiping her off slowly haha.
Had one of those too, just with the little difference of not hating water but being utterly afraid of it. And that was the same cat that chased 2 full grown eurasian dogs of the property not once but twice. But as soon as just a single droplet of water hit him, he was under the next table, couch or otherwise small and hidden place.
unleash the Tasmanian Devil
same!! i found my cat walking around with a lollipop stuck to his side, and i was like “ohhh shit..” i used my fingers and put it around the sides of his fur, and it eventually came off
That's because you are not even supposed to bathe cats. They don't need it for the most part (not including emergencies). They do a great job of cleaning themselves. Also, to them, their scent is their identity. When you strip that away they no longer feel like themselves. That is why cats lick themselves for hours after a bath. They are trying to get their scent back. Just a little fun fact since not very many people know/care about this information.
omg same with one of mine 😩 he has long hair and sometimes he gets poop stuck to his backside! but when the water touches him he make the same sound of fear and pain that he made when he'd been hit by a car 😢 plus he's a slippery little sucker! so i grab what i can with tissue paper, wipe what i can with a damp cloth, then lock him in the bathroom to take care of the rest himself 🤷
Piper was so well behaved! And Contessa has beautiful eyes!
Contessa has better eyeliner than I do.
I don't know if it's the light or the angle but Contessa's eyes look a bit wonky, Piper's are much more pretty
The way she kneads bread is adorable
This cat needs to teach husky how to be chill.
Ugh, how are cats so calm. I can't even brush mine without her biting me, running away and making sure the entire neighborhood has heard her suffering.
Some kitties just don't like to be touched. It depends on the individual kitty. One thing you can try is letting her sniff/nuzzle the brush before trying to brush her, so she knows it's there and isn't surprised. Positive reinforcement like pets, ear scratches, or treats, whatever she likes when she does allow brushing can also help.
I have a tip! Take those little packages of cat food or a piece of chicken or any food they like and keep it between your fingers in a way that lets them lick it but not eat it to distract your cat, then just brush away! It usually works for dogs too. You can also try positive conditioning by giving it some cat food after a few brushes or just associate the brush with food and your kitty should calm down. This might not be full proof but hopefully it works!

@@sheesherwhiz3846 Yeah, can't go wrong with kitty bribery.
I feel like a grinding hood, or possibly even a motorcycle helmet would be appropriate attire for grooming cats. Honestly, a full set of motorcycle leathers might not be overkill given the acrobatics I've seen some cats manage!
When I have to put drops in my cat's ears or eyes, I don a hooded sweatshirt, barn jacket, cargo pants and gloves before I go near him.
My late cat Diamond would try to disembowel anyone who stuck a thermometer in his ear. The vet techs came back with welding gloves and aprons. Otherwise he was the sweetest cat.
My dad and his partner (a vet) tamed a HUGE feral tom over a rather extended period. For quite a while, they had him shut in a room on his own and when my dad would take food in or change the litter he genuinely did go in wearing full leathers and helmet. Apparently he would launch at my dad and cling on biting. I never saw that part though lol, i did see the end result though. Turned into quite a friendly accordion of a cat. He looked a bit bigger than average while sitting, but when on the move he just became the LONGEST cat I'd ever seen. He'd just stretch out to absurd proportions for a cat.
Proper, thick denim tends to be good for handling cats. One of my cats is handicapped and needs to have her weapons maintained by a vet with assistant helping a few times a year (the 'off' button in her scruff is defective, she can still attack even when held like that) and when she needs medication I can't hide in her food, I wear all the denim I have even though she'll be wrapped in a towel for it.
While this is a good idea, I wouldn't be surprised if wearing such accessories would spook the cat 😂
That is a really smart and polite kitty! She understood that you weren't planning on hurting her and was able to keep calm when she was afraid.
She looks just like my cat that passed away. She was honestly the sweetest little cuddle bug. All she wanted to do was sit in your lap all day

What a sweet, lovely girl, and you obviously made her feel so secure. Keep this up, and we’re going to have to start calling you “Girl with the Cats”!
I took on my brother’s cat after he died. That orphan cat was a mackerel tabby too. No one else would take Sherlock because he was a bachelor’s cat (a real hellion). We basically let Sherlock be. No petting, no lifting, no cuddling. He saw me as his very own. He would jump into my lap to possess me when he heard my husband come home from work. I was his. He was mine.
How does your husband feel about being the third wheel now?
Sherlock passed away almost 10 years ago. My husband would sometimes shoo Sherlock away from my lap and sit on me. He wanted Sherlock to know who the alpha cat was. It was funny, but poor Sherlock. 💔
@@maramakesjournals2319 I know you're joking but the alpha thinking is very dangerous to all pets, especially cats that do not have a patriarchal pack. Many people do not understand it isn't real. So not criticizing you at all, just making sure everyone remembers there is no alphas♡
