as an albino person, thank you for taking care of Macha's needs. My eyes are grey blue. Most albino people have blue or grey eyes, not red like albino animals. I honestly wish I had an albino cat, but I do have two tuxedo cats whom I adore.
@@inthewoods5494 Technically all albino animals (including humans) have blue eyes, caused by a lack of melanin. The red or pink color isn't the actual hue of the eyes, but the blood vessels behind the iris coming through more strongly than the weak amount of blue present.
I can only imagine how hard it must have been to rehome her after 7 years, even though you knew it was the best thing for her. Good on you for finding her a home where she could be happy and live a good life.
She reminds me of a fancier version of a cat my grandma had when I was a kid named Promise. She was a rough outdoor kitty, regularly fought with the young cats and her husband, a black cat named Smokey. He was a long hair and she was a shorthair. Her ears were basically nubs from fighting so much. But she was always gentle to us grandkids. I visited the most, and her and Smokey would watch me play outside and ride my bike up and down the driveway. Not sure what happened to either of them, but I’ll never forget them ❤️
I'm really glad you made this video. Because no matter how much you love an animal you should always do what's necessary for them to be happy! It's a persons responsibility as a pet parent and not enough people realise that.
Doing something for your pets that is the best you can for them, but causes you great pain - like re-homing them - has always been a mark of love, to me. I'm glad Matcha has experienced such love.
i was so confused when she said albino because my cats all white and I've been told shes a persian but when she mentioned the eye color I was like oooo. this may be a really dumb question but I wonder if the gene for white hair and albino is the same for cats because phenotypically its just all white fur.
So, that whole 'peeing outside of the litterbox' probably wasn't from spite. She was likely overwhelmed, unconfident, and scared. Cats that feel those ways tend to exhibit inappropriate territorial behaviors. I'm glad you got her a place to live that was more suitable for her needs.
Yess I agree. For someone who works with animals so much im surprised she thinks that behaviour is "just regular evil cat behaviour". Because a lot of destructive behaviour cats do is actually out of fear or aggression. Including the hiding
Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Animals are not able to be 'mean'. She might have had trouble with her bladder, kidneys or maybe "just" behavioural problems because of bad environment and lack of socialisation with other animals. A cat behaviourist would tell her that.
She probably felt she had no territory cause of all the dogs so was over compensating marking her territory to try and feel safe and calm in the house. Almost like the cat felt like she didn’t belong there.
Medical issues and stress definitely result in abnormal behavior, such as peeing out of the litterbox. I'm pleased Matcha is no longer stressed (and healthy?) and living a pleasant life in the right home.
She's stunning. That coat is unbelievable. And 11?? That's an outstanding life span for an albino kitty. You and your friend have done a fabulous job of keeping her happy and healthy.
It takes a lot of character to know when your animal would thrive better with a different family situation. I commend you for your efforts within those seven years 💙
Beautiful! I had to re-home my mom's 17 yr old Maine Coon cat for that same reason. I took him in when my mother passed and he did not like sharing the spotlight with my kitty. He was spraying on items in the house. My girlfriend took him and they spent 3 glorious years together before he passed.
My cat got diagnosed with a severe heart murmur and we think she's been having strokes, ive had her since I was 17 and being 30 now that means Roxie was with me during the most important hurdles and stepping stones of life, I also have a dog as well as a full time job meaning I can't be home with her as she ages and faces health problems and my dog seemed to be starting to stress her out and noticed Roxies condition worsening, it was a devastating decision to make but me and my Mom decided Roxie should live out the last of her life with Mom as Mom is retired and lives alone in her quiet peaceful home. I go over 1 minimum times a week to clean (my Mom is disabled) so I will still see Rox very often but it's that I can't shake the feeling that I abandoned her while she's sick and probably wants her owner more than ever It's only been 3 days since so I'm hoping as time goes on I'll be able to better come to terms with it
I hope youre doing better now! Im sorry bout your kitty but you seem to really love her and im sure she understands that whatever you do its out of love

1:18 - THANK YOU! I had a pure white cat with blue eyes (short hair) growing up. We called him "Notme" (after the family circus ghost). I know he could hear and people said I was lying. "Ok, explain how he'd run from a completely different room when we ran the can opener?" "Easy, vibrations!" "ok, then how did he know to come in from outside when we called his name and he was no where in sight?" "You just couldn't see him" *hand flailing* "but he'd come from the other side of the house!!!" That cat could hear and I still miss him. He was absolutely the sweetest cat.
I used to have a long hair cat who LOVED being bathed! LOVED BATHS! He would remain in the tub, as long as it took. He never HATED water, loved the shampoo and the dry off. e loved being brushed. Only getting his nails cut was an issue.
After struggling for years to brush my cat, I finally got the Eqigroomer after seeing how well it worked on your videos. Baghura, who has always avidly abhorred being brushed, but has to be to keep away the evil matts, literally just sits there when I use the Eqigroomer on him.
Willow J Wolfe I must get an Eqigroomer. I have two cats, one long hair who hates brushing but gets matted very easily. This sounds like something I could at least try..
I have a cat that was born without eyes. Watching you trim Macha's bach hairs reminded me of mine's absolute disdain for anything touching below her tail. She's super sweet and affectionate until it comes to absolutely any grooming of her behind. Her hisses are these super soft barely audible puffs of air but she makes up for it with a loud warning growl.
Such a truly gorgeous kitty! Thinking back, I don't think I can remember any of the cats you've groomed not liking the blow-dryer. Most of them have looked like they enjoyed it :)
Absolitely stunning kitty ! She reminds me fondly of my 2 childhood cats which were also albino. They were litter mates, and both were snow white with pale blue eyes. Being part Siamese they were very vocal , often sounding nearly human ! Watching Matcha today brought back the fondest of memories.
Such a beauty. I can see why you still tried to make it work for 7 years. I think she loves you but just couldn't handle the noise from your house. I'm glad your friend is giving her the love and attention she needs.
I had a white cat when I was young. She looked exactly like her mother (who belonged to my aunt). Same build, pure white coat, pink skin, and green eyes with a hint of gold. Mother cat had perfect hearing. Her daughter was born completely deaf. Eye color and albinism doesn't necessarily tell you if the cat will be deaf. The white coat tells you it's possible. From there, you just have to pay close attention and experiment to find out how that genetic coin flip went.
What an amazing beautiful cat! She's absolutely stunning. I know the decision to rehome her was tough, but she definitely looks to be the right choice for her. Thank you for sharing her story and bringing us along for the little reunion.
Rehoming a pet is not usually what is best for your pet. It's often what's most convenient for the owner. Pets go through terrible stress and often shut down when they loose their home. Vanessa was able to rehome her cat with a friend she trusts and keep ties with her pet. In this case it was a good move.
Please note that cats will not pee outside the litter box out of spite or protest. They do that when they are extremely stressed or have problems and pain associated with their litter box... For example arthritis, Phantom pains from declawing or bladder and kidney stones
I did the same, we got a kitten that needed a lot of attention and would pee everywhere out of jealousy. So I gave her to my friend that needs an energetic pet and they are both happy.
It is NOT jealousy, that cat was afraid of their environment. People need to stop associating human emotions to animal actions. Cats pee everywhere to settle their worry when they are scared in their environment
@@starsantheoriginal we had the kitty for couple of months (She already was about 6 months old) At first she got on well with the other cat (adult), we got them together. Then she started to be needier. We didn't allow them in the bedroom and sure enough, every morning there was pee on the doorstep. She started fighting with the other cat pretty roughly and often. We figured they are both dominant, so we gave the kitty to my friend that likes the neediness and can keep up. The cat is happy now and never pees on anything.
@@EGGrun was she fixed? Were any of the cats in the house fixed? Pheromones and hormones and territory play a key role in a lot of this. Two unfixed females that are adults usually have a hard time getting along. Most unfixed cats have a very hard time getting along with other cats. Because their hormones and instincts drive a lot of what they do
Thank you for sharing your story. I too had to rehome a pet once. Nothing is wrong with rehoming! People have got to stop bashing one another for it. It’s worse to refuse a proper home for a pet, just to avoid rehoming. Wish the world would drop its stigma against it.
Yes almost certainly from stress in this case... But I have seem many cats use peeing as a revenge tool ;) Like my male Bengal cat that did pee on moms computer after I had been working on it all the day for several days and he got jealous and angry at it, he is a cat that easily get jealous. I must be very careful to also give him attention and love if he see me cuddling my other cat a female Bengal cat that is his girlfriend (she is not a cuddly cat, more of a ice queen that tolerate a little cuddly attention sometimes ;)
This sounds like stress. Especially if it was a covered litter box. Covered litter boxes can feel too threatening to a stressed and anxious cat. They feel like the can't get away/trapped and since they feel endangered under the cover, they pee just outside it instead. They want to use it, but don't feel safe enough.
She didn’t “pee out of spite” as you say, but because she was frightened and didn’t feel at home with you and your dogs. And why did it take you 7 long years to realise that this cat was very unhappy in your household? It must have been 7 long and terrible years for this cat. Poor animal. I hope this shy and gentle soul is happier with your friend now.
"All I have to do is wave a bag of Temptations" Gee, my cats also pass the same hearing test. Heck, they can also hear me take down one of their favorite toys as well. Makes me wonder how good their hearing really is.
My late cat BLUE had a white coat, blue eyes, and ginger points; was told he was a Flame point Siamese. Thirty years on, I still miss him … and my two small dogs.
Matcha’s story reminds me of my calico, Lilo. When I lived with my mom we adopted 2 calico sisters. My mom had 2 dogs at the time. The first sister, Luna was very social and didn’t mind sitting with the dogs, but her sister Lilo would always get chased or barked at by the dogs. She would spend all day hiding and only come out when I was home as we had built a strong bond. Loud noises and sudden movements scared her. When I moved out and took the cats with me I noticed Lilo open up a lot more with other people and she is much happier!
Just a small correction - cats don’t pee out of spite, animals don’t make that connection between actions and are not vindictive etc. They pee because of stress and discomfort, fear etc. Just like dogs. Ps I love you!!
I actually had a cat that shit in my step parebrs's pants on two different occasions after my step parent pissed him off. It's the only times the cat ever did this and he waited for that man to go into the shower to do so. edit: he is the only cat I've had thats ever done this level stuff. My sweet girl when she was a kitten used to wait to make eye contact with you if you were ignoring her and just slowly push things like a glass of water off the table while maintaining eye contact.
@@seregiel9541 that is not a display of anger. Cats eliminate "publicly" (ie, don't cover or hid their waste) to demonstrate that the area is part of their territory. The cat was asserting a boundary.

My roommate used to have an albino cat. Absolutely gorgeous but an absolute Chad as well. When he would go outside, he would never leave the yard and would throw down with any neighborhood cats that got too close to the yard. Little dude was all action and no posturing whatsoever. He would just go straight for a cat without any warning. He even tried going after a raccoon that got too close to the yard one night. Thankfully, I was able to grab him.
An absolute Chad, lol!
as an albino person, thank you for taking care of Macha's needs.

That must have been so hard to give her up. You are an amazing pet parent
Fascinating. I have never seen an albino cat. She's beautiful

i was so confused when she said albino because my cats all white and I've been told shes a persian but when she mentioned the eye color I was like oooo. this may be a really dumb question but I wonder if the gene for white hair and albino is the same for cats because phenotypically its just all white fur.
You’re confidence and gift for your profession is definitely calming to your fur clients ! 🤗
I dunno, the fact that it went on for 7 years, does not sit well with me.
She probably felt she had no territory cause of all the dogs so was over compensating marking her territory to try and feel safe and calm in the house. Almost like the cat felt like she didn’t belong there.
Sheesh you guys take things too seriously! The "out of spite" thing was clearly a joke 🤭

I go over 1 minimum times a week to clean (my Mom is disabled) so I will still see Rox very often but it's that I can't shake the feeling that I abandoned her while she's sick and probably wants her owner more than ever
It's only been 3 days since so I'm hoping as time goes on I'll be able to better come to terms with it

It's sad to let a pet go, but you can take comfort in the fact that she has a great new home.
She’s so cute omg 😍❤️
What an amazing beautiful cat! She's absolutely stunning. I know the decision to rehome her was tough, but she definitely looks to be the right choice for her.
Thank you for sharing her story and bringing us along for the little reunion.
Deciding what is best for your pet, even If it isn't you, is the biggest act of love you can give them. ❤️❤️❤️
Rehoming a pet is not usually what is best for your pet. It's often what's most convenient for the owner. Pets go through terrible stress and often shut down when they loose their home. Vanessa was able to rehome her cat with a friend she trusts and keep ties with her pet. In this case it was a good move.
@@elliottross3691they didn't say rehoming was best for cats though 😂
It was thoughtful of you to consider the cat's feelings and place her where she would be happiest, based on her personality.
She looks downright *eerily* similar to my boy King, even him being a blue eyed white cat that can hear. So beautiful and sweet.
You have a beautiful empathic gift with your animals. Love watching you work.
Please note that cats will not pee outside the litter box out of spite or protest.
They do that when they are extremely stressed or have problems and pain associated with their litter box... For example arthritis, Phantom pains from declawing or bladder and kidney stones
The floor mountain with her little space helmet on just molt my heart🥰
She is quite a beauty! Wow! I am smitten! ♥️
Yeah you’re right
How’s your day going today my friend?
My parents got an albino kitten once when their cat had babies. He was deaf so he was the only one not scared of the vacuum cleaner 😂
I did the same, we got a kitten that needed a lot of attention and would pee everywhere out of jealousy. So I gave her to my friend that needs an energetic pet and they are both happy.
That's great!
@@starsantheoriginal but yes, maybe it was not jealousy, maybe it was a dominance thing.
@@EGGrun was she fixed? Were any of the cats in the house fixed? Pheromones and hormones and territory play a key role in a lot of this. Two unfixed females that are adults usually have a hard time getting along. Most unfixed cats have a very hard time getting along with other cats. Because their hormones and instincts drive a lot of what they do
Matcha is so beautiful! What a sweetheart!
Thank you for sharing your story. I too had to rehome a pet once. Nothing is wrong with rehoming! People have got to stop bashing one another for it. It’s worse to refuse a proper home for a pet, just to avoid rehoming. Wish the world would drop its stigma against it.
I don’t think she peed everywhere out of spite, it was likely stress.
Y'all wouldn't know sarcasm if it slapped you upside the head
DrunkenRobot y’all🙄🤣🤣 yea ok, we get her sarcasm, but it really didn’t come off that way with this comment.
Or a territorial thing, especially with dogs about.. They could just be going "get the hell out of my area!!"
I love the murder mittens. Great and accurate description for the claws.
"All I have to do is wave a bag of Temptations"
Gee, my cats also pass the same hearing test.
Pretty sure it was a joke
My cat has learned to pee on stuff when he wants to go outside because my mom put him outside when he peed on stuff
@@AgentLane13 Yeah, I get that they don't correlate as a 1:1 human emotions. The assertion of that boundary as a response is a demonstration of power dynamics. That said, I was refuting it was only for scared, stress, and discomfort which was your original comment.
