small problem all lcd based projectors have is that your screen only pass trough polarised light, more precisely light polarised in only one direction and blocks most of the light polarised 90 gegree from it. you can check it with polarising filters that work with any lcd screen. if you rotate it 90degree and the screen go black another 90 degree and it go full bright you know you are wasting half of the light old 3lcd projectors dealt with it by crazy laminated polarised mirror array that passed light of one polarisation byt fliped light of the other and passed it trough neighbout mirror stripe white light is wasted on lcd anyway, if you could combine beams of red blue and green monochromatic light you would get much higher overal color brightness while keeping white at roughly the same level, and the lcd would run cooler but you need a 3 way combining prisim for doing that or at least 3 light paths that would be the same length but came out straight at the screen at the same angle
